Friendly advice when trying to pass through full irons, loosen staysails right before passing the wind line so you can get into reverse faster -- keep reversing as long as possible; adjust rear sails to irons while making the initial reverse out of full irons. That will help with your angling and line-up. Hope that makes sense, lol.
Also, if you're going to be that close and not shoot closer to the water line (which I highly recommend you should to get them leaking), then switch to 100m so your shots can have a better chance to hit when not at an optimal angle.

I really enjoyed it :) ... but, I think you are focusing so much on trying to get the rake, you missed opportunities to fire your broadside, and still be reloaded in time for the rake when you get into position. After saying that, I know you wanted to test the new raking mechanic. What is your thought?
I love the reversing back into making stern raking more rewarding. I like it a lot. This was why I bought Santa Ana even though I don't feel secure about the game's future as the devs have locked access to war and peace servers to new players.... The thing with attacking broadsides is that the planking is now much more effective that attacking broadside would take too much time compared with stern raking, so I didn't bother.
@@aidenallen912 Hi, Raking is where you position your ship directly in front of, or directly behind the enemy vessel and fire your (full broadside) guns the full length of the enemy ship. There is not as much armor on the front or rear of the vessel, so it is easier to do damage to the internal structure, making it sink faster, and cause more damage to the enemy crew. It's devastating.
i want to play this game but i can not be stuffed grinding for months to get the levels high enough to get a crew big enough for something like the HMS victory or redoubtable did they fix the grind or let you buy any ammount of crew yet?

never understood the logic behind warships like this. Whenever one ship has an angle on the other ship both ships has an equal angle on each other. Its like two trains colliding front to front on the same rail.

at high speed stern rakes (passing by quickly), switch to parallel and the rake will line up shots almost perfectly; you just need to time it right.
