That's not what happened. Regulus wanted Fortuna, which has similar hair and eyes as Emilia
I researched and apparently Fortuna was gonna be the 79th and Emilia is a replacement.
Wrong. Regulus originally wanted Fortuna to be his 79th wife but he failed so he leaved that spot open. After meeting Emillia, she reminded him of Fortuna so he choose her to fill that spot.
PSA: The last part about Emilia being 79 is just my personal speculation based on the non spoiler info we have from anime and light novel. Its not part of the actual cut content like the first 10 minutes of the video.
I love the theory, would definitely make sense as to why she has such a weird number compared to the other wives!

It feels like the marriage is just him owning them, basically treating them like property. Like other than to serve him they’re wasting away with little to no identity and free will since most/all the people the wives knew before he forcefully married them is killed and they’re just puppets owned by him after the massacre with those wives fearing their own life so they submissively serve him. It’s really heartbreaking to see Emilia try to get to 184 and failing cause she have no hope. It really painted the picture of abusive relationship and how hard it is to help the victims since how very broken down they are by either manipulations, gaslighting etc.
So they are just dolls for his amusement and once he grows bored he gets another ?
@@yukiotacon2846 with the amount of wives that was said he had (200+) but only little that’s still around (50ish), he either gets bored and take in new wives while pay little mind/neglect the others, he also probably killed most that tried to escape/cross him. So yeah, the girls he managed to forcefully made as his wife are hopeless and really had cruel fate befell upon them. At the moment I don’t even know if they’re even able to be saved with how Regulus is and i’m an anime only(for now)so don’t know what happens to them. I had little hope of them surviving or saved by Emilia+Subaru while i try to read the web novel/light novel but still wish they could live if ever Regulus got defeated

they said emilia was stupid for being "too easygoing" when she was kidnapped by regulus, even though she was careful not to anger him because she knew how strong he was just by looking at him.
a certain female character would probably attack him if she was in the same situation which would cause not only her name to be lost but her entire existence. and maybe that certain female character would also say something like "subaru is my hero and he will save me" before she dies which would cause regulus to hunt him down and kill him.

It's really a weird argument when you see Emilia obviously careful because she knew damn well that her opponent is very strong from the few times she saw him use his power so it's very obvious she stands no chance against him so she decided to lay low until they figure out what they need to do all while keeping everyone safe only for her to be called "stupid" or "too cold", many of Subaru problems wouldn't have happen if he was half as calm as Emilia, her intuition is superior and she's canonicaly very calm and not easy to make her angry or emotional, it's not even that hard to understand why she's laying low in the anime because I think it did a good job in highlighting that

This is a non spoiler review based on the information only shown in episode or up to where the anime is in the light novel. The last bit about 79 is just my speculation.
@AniNews The fact that Fortuna was the one Regulus wanted for #79 is from cut content of Season 2. Moreover, there is also cut content in these few episodes where Regulus told Emillia that he chose Emillia for #79 because she is similar to the one he fail to obtain. Therefore, my statement doesn't involve any spoiler or cut content in the future.
@@AniNews - I made this same mistake, thinking he kept it open for Emilia all these years. However, Fortuna being his proposed 79th wife was mentioned in arc 4, and he commented on Emilia's looks in arc 5, which is also when it is explained that he was advised by his tome to find a wife there. Regulus put two and two together to decide Emilia was a fitting replacement for Fortuna's spot.
In other words, it's not spoiler info or speculation, nor web novel exclusive info. It just requires a lot of jumping back and forth between the arcs to piece his motive together. Again, I made the same mistake you did, and someone else corrected me, hence why I remember.

Flooding was a nice first try to eliminate the witch cult. However, they need to destroy the ENTIRE city of pristellia, flooding it only did the ground areas
Burning and demolishing the buildings to finish what the flood started also helps against the witch cult
But in the end, the United effort of Subaru and company uniting their manas to cast a giant massive blast that is so fast, the witch cult won’t even have a chance to do anything and that wipes out the entire city in a single shot and leaving a giant crater where pristellia used to be is the best and only way to truly end the witch cult once and for all

It is basically showing how their relationship has grown so much and she is way more confident in her power, herself, and her friends.
