Is what I'd assume at least. Not like I remember what the alternative looks like, I just take Subaru's word for it since he says this Rem girl was great and all.
I have a few thoughts about Subaru knowing Pucks name 1) Puck is the great spirit of fire so its possible that Emilia and Puck could have assumed that Subaru is some sort of well studied scholar, which would be disproven cuz Subaru is still learning to read in the mansion 2) they might have thought that its he knew of Pucks existence because of hes apptitude for spirits, which would be even more convincing when they realise he can just magicaly find beatrices door, though they would probably doubt that to an extent since Puck did need to teach him about how magic works
Pucks publicly known name is “the beast of the end” a scholar or books written by someone like that wouldn’t know him by puck so your first option doesn’t work to get his name (plus just studying wouldn’t let him sense the spirits presence in the room)

The mood swings are so hilarious. This is a best part of Subaru. Just a minute you are talking to him peacefully and seconds later you see his horrified face as if he had died and then instane PTSD + hysteria rolling on the ground.
I wonder how many knows of the witch cult's gospel.... If it is common knowledge that the gospel is capable of predicting the future to a certain extend (I have no clue whether it is well known or not) it might also help people understand why Subaru is so knowledgeable. They know he has the witches' scent and they know he has a HUGE grudge against the witch cult and terrifying amount of knowledge about them. So if they are aware of the gospel then I would imagine a lot of people just assume Subaru had somehow been able read part of the gospel while getting away from the cult if he didn't outright have a copy of it that he used in secret. I doubt the soldiers would even question why he would keep it hidden. It would be a powerful, and kind of terrifying, item that would make him A LOT of enemies, so keeping that card close to his chest would make a lot of sense. I could even see some of the soldiers actually respecting Subaru even further with him trusting them enough to tell them about this item, even if he didn't outright state he had it. Like, not only does Subaru know exactly where the cult is located and their plans, he also knows about the leader's power that is capable of taking over people's bodies. If I were a soldier I would make the assumption that Subaru isn't just a former capture of the cult, but that he had actually been one of the fingers before, somehow, getting away from the cult. He has so much insider knowledge that I would assume he was actually one of the leading figures, but the fact he clearly hated the cult and had just helped kill one of the strongest beasts that was venerated by the cult I wouldn't suspect him to be a double agent. I would assume he had somehow managed to not only fight his way out, but also avoid losing himself to having been possessed since it sounded like he knew he could easily become a target for possession by the main leader's power, and how in the world would he have known that if it hadn't happened to him before? Overall, I think it explains the trust a lot of the soldiers show Subaru. Yes, he is suspicious, but he is actually so suspicious that there is no real way he would be a spy, because it just wouldn't make any sense for him to give all of that information and even help kill the white whale for seemingly no reason. The cult wins NOTHING by having him give all of that information, so what would it gain from him being a spy? Nothing. They only lose from it. So he almost certainly isn't a spy.
Crush brought up a similar point in the first loop he tried to recruit her. She said with all his info either he's a spy or former victim that's hellbent on revenge
#12:35 Any reason why Ram would make an ice sculpture that is half Roswaal and half Subaru in the "who's Rem?" version? (also why would there be a pool full of mayonaise?)

No, (cut content: during the 1year time skip, Subaru tried to inform Betty multiple times, but ultimately failed.) The more reasonable explanation would be that he was quieter than the anime made him seem.
The actual reason, if you don't mind spoilers: When the doors are closed to the library, it's actually a pocket dimension. Satella cannot 'see' Subaru here. Thus, RBD and the consequences of confessing it do not exist. This means the time Subaru tried to die in the library very nearly was a permanent death and Betty actually saved the story. The caveat is *all* the doors in the library need to be closed. If a single door is open, it's still connected to Satella's domain. Subaru can confess RBD in places where Satella cannot 'see' him for whatever reason. Usually due to it being a private/pocket space. In theory, being put in a pocket dimension by Al Shamac would do it. A lot of vulnerabilities do exist now that you know about it. RBD is not foolproof. What makes RBD seemingly unbeatable is that nobody knows that he has it. Right? People finding out about it is worse than dying because he could be permanently killed. Now, I wonder what could possibly protect this secret forever... surely not a failsafe to ensure he can't tell anyone yes?
he seems like an ex member tho . He was tweakin while talking to emilia like shes satella. How can someone mistake someone for public enemy number one like he knows satella. He spoke of satella very highly as well.
People keep insisting that Emilia and Puck should have brought up Subaru knowing Puck, and shouting to shield Emilia but being aware of the great spirits isn't that weird since knowing that physical forms for great spirits are hard to maintain is common knowledge. It is also possible that Puck doesn't care that Subaru knew of him because he can read his intentions and since they weren't negative he ignores it. Emilia had a million other things on her mind in the moment like the INSIGNIA that literally determines her eligibility for the royal selection and a pretty intense fight with Elsa and saving Subaru and deciding what to do next. Much of the story takes place from Subaru's perspective (we miss a lot of what happens while Subaru is out cold in anime) so another explanation is that Emilia brought it up with Puck later in private or while Subaru was unconscious and Puck tells her not to worry about it or something similar to that. All told there's plenty of good reasons not to bring up Subaru's awareness of Puck outside of the Chibi shorts. Nice video though! Really enjoying The Rezero content.
