Sorry for this stupid question but im new to all this emulators and retro games. Is this something i could buy and immediately power on and start playing games with my son? I dont understand emulators and some reviews are saying you need to change the operating system to garlic OS and immediately transfer all data from the SD cards to a better SD card. Which i have no idea how to do any of that i dont even own a PC anymore. I just want my first device to power on and play a game immediately.
Yes most of these retro handhelds you can buy, turn on, and just start playing. A lot of people create a hobby out of modding them fixing them up to be just how they like (guilty of this myself), this is completely optional. The software and games that come with the device might not be the absolute best setup but are completely usable and enjoyable for most people. The OS lives on the top SD card so if you ever do want to update the OS or start messing around with stuff, I recommend getting a 2nd SD card that way you can keep the one that came with it unchanged and if you run into issues or want to just go back to how it was you just swap the SD card.
@@PhyrexTechsthank you for your answer. I greatly appreciate it and I have just subscribed to you! Do you have any other suggestions for handhelds like this that are beginner friendly? I was also looking at the newest Trimui model.
Miyoo Mini Plus is another great device and is still probably my favorite one to recommend as a intro device. But you really can't go wrong with the RG35XX/Plus or the Miyoo Mini/Plus. I have not been able to try the Trimui yet so can't really speak for that one.
@@PhyrexTechsI've read reviews that the SD cards are so cheap that come with they completely die shortly after getting it. Do you think this could be a problem for me?
I got mine 2 days ago and I installed the software update yesterday it’s good for me and I love it 👍
Awesome that is great! I have not done the software update yet. However, I will do that before my full review.
👍
How did u do that
Idk how to update mine
by “software update” you mean the stock os or garlic os?

@@Oz_Darkr1d3r All of these retro handheld devices come with really cheap SD cards that I would recommend replacing asap if its in your budget.
Does it have Nintendo ds Pokemon games pre installed
On the 64gb SD card that came with mine it only had 6 DS games on it, none of them Pokemon.
Dammm mine comes not charged when i unbox it hmmm
Hi...
Will a 1tb sd with games work on this handheld?
I have not been able to test it personally. However, I have seen people report they were able to use a 1tb SD card with no problem.
@@PhyrexTechs thanks... is there any videos on 1tb sd on a anbernic or powkiddy?
i just bought it but its still on his way but idk how to play ds games because it needs 2 screens and i wanna play pokemon soul silver and heart gold
and is there all the pokemon games
So there are hotkeys set by default to swap the screen you see.
Mine did not come with Pokemon games already in it. I got the 64gb one.
