    INCREASE FPS on ANY PC using this setting! Helping to clear background RAM usage to eliminate FPS stuttering in almost every game! - This is mainly a GAMING focused Optimization
    Let me know what games you've found this has helped with below (FOR THOSE THAT USE ISLC - you can still just use ISLC if you wish - this video is a much easier way to emptystandy list)

      @KingdomKey57 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SlippstersVideos I was looking for the form but cannot find it. I used this back in 2018 and still do but for reasons outside of gaming. I had a memory leak that I gave up solving and this resolved it. Standby memory is used to cache disk access, recent files, and software you access often. As soon as there is a request for the memory from an application the standby memory releases it for use. In a way, this is used to help your system run faster. The problem comes when this cache gets filled up almost all the way like my memory leak issue. Overall most people don't need to do this and it probably won't help a whole lot. By clearing the sandy mem every 5 mins you are forcing your RAM to work overtime to cache everything again. You don't have to trust me, feel free to do what this guy says. I just want to give people a fair warning

    From a security standpoint running a file as SYSTEM every 5/10 minutes in an unprotected folder is very insecure.
    Gives attackers the opportunity to, as a lowlevel user, not only gain a persistent connection to your pc but also as a system level user.
    Meaning they can do whatever they like.

    • @Linda-
      @Linda- 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      might be a security risk, but it only really is bad when it is actively being exploited. this is something that probably less than 1 out of 100k windows users will do, so anyone with ill intentions wouldnt even bother to try and exploit this

    • @fyxtro
      @fyxtro 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Linda- it's not something that is exploitable from the outside. Like with a very recent exploit that allowed attackers to gain a user level shell to your pc. But scheduled task running as system are a very common way to gain a persistent connection and a system level connection. There's even automated tools like Winpeas widely available that scan for this exact thing.

    I assume by purging the standby list, eventually your harddrives will become increasingly fragmented if they can't defrag or trim - might be a good idea to only run the standby purging at times you are normally gaming, but avoid purging while you only watch movies or simpler media content/browsing, like late at night or during work hours.

    • @mikfhan
      @mikfhan 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Capital Nah probably not today when everyone uses SSD for their games - in older times gaming off HDD with tonnes of install/uninstall your loading screens might take a good while longer to finish. Unless there's other more important tasks to carry out in the standby queue also.

    • @ruxcooking
