- Wedding Videography Behind the Scenes with wedding filmmaker Adam Wing.
This behind the scenes video will give you an insight into how I film a wedding, solo shooter, mostly with one camera and one lens. A simple, minimal approach.
This behind the scenes video is of a beautiful outdoor summers wedding,

Welcome back! And congratulations on the newborn
Thank you ❤️
Thanks for the BTS. Love watching those!
You’re welcome, thanks for watching!
Love this bts. Your approach is so simple yet detailed. Thank you for sharing 😊
Ah thank you Gloria! Really appreciate you watching
Great stuff mate, good to see you're still killing it!
Doing my best!
Can't use smiler because of the oyster smile so we can use Kiya instead hence the new invites to the wedding 😂
🔥
Great coverage, simple but effective. Very inspiring 🙏🏼
Thanks Jacob!
4:18 I hear you.. hahah!!
😂😂 did that with my mouth!
Great vid, cool to see your process. Also the duck at 4:19 came outta nowhere 💨 Hahah
🤣 i swear it was my mouth but nobody believes me 😩😅
The recordings are very beautiful, I love watching your video!!!!
I see that fullHD is posted on TH-cam, but do you also upload it in 4K??
No just HD, thank you!
Amazing insight Adam! Love watching these! One question, do you use much post stabilisation on your moving shots? Particularly when you are following the bride and grrom for portraits? Or just relying on the on camera? I realise you may have upgraded bodies since this was shot. Thanks
Generally not because the warp stabilisation in post isn’t reliable. But very occasionally it works. Most shots I don’t mind a bit of movement
Always a great insight to your approach. Keep them coming! One question if I may - why did you switch from 85mm to 55mm? For tighter shots you’d end up closer to the guests so doesn’t that mean it’s less discrete? Thx
Thanks mate, it was mainly for ceremonies initially. Because 85 was too tight in some small venues.
But now I just think it looks more natural and I like getting a bit more involved, while still being discreet
Hi Adam, hope you had a great Christmas.
Just watched your you tube video behind the scenes.
I've commented to ask a bit of info and share your secrets sorry for that😉.
Couple of questions if you don't mind me asking.
One is how do you get your shots so steady with handheld, is it the stabilisation in the camera?
Alsodo you have a link for the prism you use?
I'd like to copy this idea for myself😊.
Thankyou mate.
I am new to wedding videography so just trying to find a bit of info.
I'm currently using a nikon d5100 until I can get enough money to upgrade😊.
Thankyou mate
Great stuff as always mate… at least the Tog got her shots eh 👀
Cheers mate 😅 it was all good, plenty to go at
Great stuff adam , i will shout it from the roof tops if needed if i hadnt have watched that bts video years back of yours i would not of been where iam now always respect and grateful to anyone that made a difference for to get out of the corporate sales job of ovef 20 years i hear wish i dont if sooner said alot .....but im glad i made the mistakes nand pitfalls as i approach 50 years old big cheers obi one 😊
Thanks mark, it’s great to see you doing so well!
"Do you want to be in my TH-cam channel?"
"No--I do not!"
Funny.
Haha I like that bit. Me and that photographer are good friends so it was all in good humour
Great to see another BTS. I was wondering, how many minutes of footage you come away with compared to the final product (shooting ratio), and if you have any specific techniques to make sure your footage cuts together nicely (shooting for edit).
About 20-25 minutes of usable b-roll (short clips) after each wedding. This becomes the 15 minute film, including the ceremony and speech multicams also.
I would say only press record when you have composed your frame so that you can use that clip from the beginning, rather than having to trim off the first couple of seconds every time.
@@AdamWingFilms That is very efficient shooting. Saves you a lot of time in editing, I'm sure. Thank you for sharing!
It does! That’s the idea at least 😅
Nice bts, you seem very relaxed during the day! Can I ask what camera strap you use?
Thank you, I certainly try to be! It’s from an Italian brand called Barbershop
Led Zeppelin and Kiss at a wedding - rock and roll!!!!
Great insight Adam, thanks for sharing. Was this a recent wedding?
So laid back on a wedding day you even wore your slippers.
Two togs for portraits 🙈
Haha thanks my friend! No this was almost 2 years ago now! Hoping to film an up to date one soon, but all that’s really changed is that I now have an a7s3..
@@AdamWingFilms I thought it might be. It had a covid wedding feel about it and I could have sworn you use a7siii’s now.
Still on Sony TX650’s though???
Tx660s now too
Question… what’s the point of moving the camera away fast right before ending record?
Can you time stamp an example? I’ve probably just done it because I’ve got what I need and moved away before hitting the button. So no, no reason, I’m just moving fast
A bit more light during dancing would help.
Cheers
Yeah it was dark, i don’t use any lighting generally but would have been nice here
all manual focusing?
Yeah 🙂
Do you shoot 50fps?
Yeah
@@AdamWingFilms Thank you
are you filming with Picture Profile Off?
No, using Picture profile 1
That second photographer with grey blazer must be annoying to work with
No was all good
15:08 😅
4:18 did he farted? :D
Haha no, just blowing raspberries
@@AdamWingFilms Hahaha
Well done, a few more last tips for me 🫡
Hope it’s helpful!
