You gotta give it to the writers. It is not everyday that a story makes you feel bad for a guy that did genocide, destroy an entire civilization due his lust of revenge, and make you feel happy with the ending of GoW Ragnarok.
I played the games since 05.. And by the time I was beating Zeus + to death 5 years later I was just as obsessed as Kratos to Finnish his mission, Greek pantheon and people be dammed... And it felt justified..

This game had no business being as good as it turned out to be, it was incredible, a true masterpiece. One aspect that I loved and I felt was missing in future installments was the foreshadowing.

I remember when I first played this game, was 15 and went to visit my uncle. We lived out of state most of my life, so it was really my first time meeting him. I stayed the night, and his older step son had a ps2 out in the living room. This was as far as I remember the only game he had, and I never heard of it. I remember not being too into it for the first 30 mins, but after that I absolutely fell in love. I don't remember how long the game was, but it impressed me. I wasn't able to finish it during the visit, but I remember 2-3 points where I thought I had reached the end (over a few visits) only to discover the game wasn't over. I really fell in love with the game, I never really had a console as a kid, family couldn't afford those things, so it was a luxury I was not use too. I miss those days however, regardless of what ever I played I more or less had fun doing it.
Am i crazy or is the rapid button pressing a lot harder in this game than any other GoW game? When i was younger i needed help for those parts and now i need to force my arm into muscle spasms to get through them.
It's still a lot better than the stupid Zeus bossfight quicktime event in god of war 2 were you had to do like 5 quicktime events in a row with like a 0.2 second response time each time.

Second one I was ready for the switch to spamming circle. Third one I succeeded. Like I’m a twitchy mother fucker so this wasn’t all that hard.
No it was. For me it depended on my controller. If it was new, no problem. But if I was using an old one I literally had to put it down and use a pencil to help rapidly mash O. Thankfully it was only needed for the Hydra, and the reason I never used it against the Minotaurs lol. Hell with extra health, I needed red orbs anyway

As much as I love open world games it kinda sucks theyve become the default for alot of triple A releases, few genres have as satisfying gameplay as hack and slash games

Yeah the QTE’s were brutal here I played GOW last month since I had the option through PS+ and those QTE’s are unfairly strict the buttons leave too fast and the control sticks don’t always register Thankfully GOWII extended the times
I myself played all the original games on its hardest difficulty (aside GOW 2018) and HOLY FUCK, from all of them, GOW 3 fucking kicked my Ass to the curb multiple times.
If my hate for quicktimeevents wouldn't be so great I would give the old god of war games a chance, the two new ones where brilliant and have options for disabling the quick time events.
Back when games were made by gamers for gamers, idk if it’s just me but these games just felt so much more fun and organic, the new ones bore me to fuck they’re fucken horrible, but so are most games nowadays, replaying the trilogy again and they’re just amazing content
Played it on PCX2 emulator, ISO for it is easy to find online. I had to pull up a youtube video to get the right settings though, that's how I got it widescreen for this video.
If anyone here is looking to play this I highly recommend the ps3 version with rpcs3, probably more hardware intesive to run, but it worked right from the get go for me and it runs at 60fps without any patches or workarounds.
