Good old J.r., The King Jerry Lawler of course a comedian lol, and this Gentleman Paul Heyman.
It also makes the most sense though. The ones who needed the status of beating the undertaker to elevate themselves couldn't have made it legitimate enough to be believable at the time.
@@noahchampagnejr5688 That’s just false bud. Multiple people have been offered the chance to end the streak. Edge was offered but said no. Build the story and the feud right and it could have been someone that WWE could see long term being their next big guy. Brock didn’t deserve that feather in his cap. It didn’t elevate him at all. He didn’t need it.
@@seanm9823 That's the problem though: they couldn't decide who they wanted to be the next face of WWE at the time so nobody was really being built to be it yet, and Vince apparently really wanted undertaker to lose at WrestleMania. I agree that they could've built a feud and make it someone else, but unfortunately it was Vinny's decision to make and it wasn't really that great in the long run.
@@noahchampagnejr5688 This. The length of The Streak is the most most viable criticism of it as a storytelling device. By the time it came to possible ending it, the WWE suffered a lack of top end, young talent. The younger crop wasn't ready to build off a win, and other veterans (Brock, Orton, Cena) were too established to really get a huge momentum push for it. This is the best argument for not ending the streak at all, not because "it just doedn't feel right, man..." Vince was determined to use the streak to build the next dude, and he didn't know how much time he had left to do it so he fired his shot, then used Brock as the bridge to the next brass ring bearer, so to speak.
It was an appalling decision. Brock was about the least deserving person imaginable to end it. He also didn’t need it. With that said, Taker should have hung it up after his four year Wrestlemania feud with HBK and HHH. He should have gone out on top.
i love how EVERYONE who has been in spitting distance of Vince has the same 'voice' for him-- wrestlers, managers, im sure that even the Camera Crew can do that perfect spot-on "youre FIIIRED!"
Paul is SO full of it. They didn't play the music intentionally, AND they slapped that 21-1 graphic up VERY quickly. Also, he oversold his reaction to the point of it being comical. If Brock did a shoot he'd be scrubbing toilets at WWE HQ for the rest of his contract. Mark was asked by Vince to do the job and give the rub, and he did it. PERIOD!
Well, the ref did count to 3, he did raise Brack’s hand, and Brock’s musoc did play. So obviously the ref, and sound tech knew. There’s no way in hell it wasn’t planned. 🤦🏻
@Mark_Takagi I guess I'd have to watch it again, but I don't believe for a second that it didn't go exactly as planned. As soon as it ended, I definitely remember Cole saying "the streak... is over". Then there was a 21-1 graphic on the big screen. Someone obviously prepared that graphic ahead of time. This is WWE. Everything you see is 99.9% micromanaged by Vince (in that timeframe)
@Mark_TakagiI mean Brock Lesnar and Taker are very good friends and he has great respect for Taker so it did not go down like that, it obviously scripted because Vince wanted to push Brock as the next unstoppable monster heel, if Brock went off script and ended the streak Taker would not take too kindly to that at all and would have most likely revealed that in one of his many interviews in recent times.
yep, the music didn’t play immediately for a good 20 seconds after Brock pins Taker. All we would heard is the sound of disbelieve among WWE fans in attendance and Paul says “OMG, you did it”. Brock was like almost stunned after that.
@@faizhakimzain8339 I just watched it again. The ref's count was actually kinda fast... just an observation, but to me, that also tells me the ref knew.
If the Script called for Taker to win and Lesnar went off script, it would have been the end of Lesnars Career. While he is physically imposing and impressive, there is few people that have the backstage power of Taker. If Taker says something happens in WWE, it does. He is the best friend of the big boss, and without a shadow of the doubt the most respected Wrestler of the last 30 Years. So yeah, Lesnar could have had his way even if Taker wasnt on Board, but after that he would never have stepped foot into a WWE ring ever again.
That's Heyman telling a tale trying to blur the lines of fiction and reality and I'll give him that, he did a great job there, think it through though, if what Heyman says is true about Lesnar going into business for himself on something as BIG as him ending Taker's streak, WWE would have never worked with Lesnar again and they would have buried him at some point just like they did Warrior in that "self destruction dvd" back in 2005.....@@pepewr
Lol you fine the shit out of Brock Lesnar. A HUGE fine would have happened. They all knew it was going to happen. You don't go off script and beat something Vince has been working on and not get punished somehow.

Heyman is an American icon and a freaking genius. Theres no better. He literally tells you the truth and then makes you question weather the truth is real.
I'm a firm believer that Taker should have kept his streak. He doesn't have accolades like Ric Flair where he held a ton of titles and he isn't great on the mic like The Rock. He was the real Mr. Wrestlemania and it should have stayed that way. Not too mention losing to a 40 year old part timer was not good booking.
This conspiracy theory doesn’t make much sense with Brock being a pro and having respect for Taker. But what actually makes sense is the possibility that Undertaker got concussed and couldn’t kick out.
Also, we know that it’s not just as simple as ‘taking him to Suplex City and then hoisting him up for an F5…’ The Undertaker has to allow him to execute the suplexes and would know if Lesnar was deliberately trying to knock him out. At the point he would just refuse to play ball. Lesnar is a beast but he’s still not going to just rag-doll the Undertaker and knock him out if he’s not going along with it.
Asif brock would go into business for himself against the undertaker of all people the locker room leader since the 90s, none of the boys would work with him ever again

I just went back and watched the ending of the match because he got me curious. Heyman is f'ing with everyone. He's so good though. Absolute genius.
Lol 😂😂 i clicked just to say R U SERIOUS WITH THAT THUMBNAIL 😂😂😂 WOW
Doesn't explain the 22-1 graphic that was on all the screens in the arena cued up. This is purely BS.
Facts they had those graphics made before the show taker said Vince had him going over then changed the decision like 10 minutes before the match which means that Vince always intended to have Brock go over the whole time he jus didn’t wanna tell taker that
You can make those graphics in less than a minute. Those graphics could be made by a freshman in beginners computer graphics lmaoo
The graphics were clearly made to fool fans
@@georgealvarez1195 Can't even get the interface up in less than a minute.
@@pkizzlebeatsare you living under a rock? This is an old video. Taker talked about this after he retired and explained the whole thing. Stop trying to play with your CSI bullshit.
Just re- watched the finish, Michael Cole definitely knew! “ the streak is over “ is definitely a rehearsed line! It came to soon after the 3 count
Love listening to Paul Heyman tell stories.
Definitely a supreme Professional. I love this guy, God bless him 🙏🏼. He's so good I don't even have to post it here, he speaks for himself. His voice and the way he presents himself makes people want to hear what he has to say. Definitely top three. Good old J.r., The King Jerry Lawler of course a comedian lol, and this Gentleman Paul Heyman.
I can listen to Heyman talk all day long
At the beginning of this video I thought “he’s not going to say anything” and sure af I was right
Salesman live by ABC: Always Be Closing.
Heyman lives by ABW: Always Be Working 😂
This Man should be hall of fame for each time he shows up on ring and talks.... One of the best that ever would be on mic
Lesnar being the one chosen to end the streak was one of the worst booking decisions
Paul is just having fun here, and I love it. He's obviously working the crowd just because that's what he does best and he has a blast doing it.
“How many of you heard of the Kennedy assassination?” What a great way to open the video🤣
That "Yes I did" in character ❤😂😂😂
Gotta love Paul’s ability to spin a tale that gets people talking again.
i love how EVERYONE who has been in spitting distance of Vince has the same 'voice' for him-- wrestlers, managers, im sure that even the Camera Crew can do that perfect spot-on "youre FIIIRED!"
Didn't Brock said, "thank you Mark" during the pin?
Paul Heyman sitting on a chair backwards is nightmare material
Hands down, that little Jewish kid it the BEST story teller in the history of the business!
@@faizhakimzain8339 they most likely did that to enhance the effect of the shock of the whole thing. (delated the music)
You cant just bury the wrestler who broke the most important streak in the history of the company
It would have really put WWE in a tough spot
That's Heyman telling a tale trying to blur the lines of fiction and reality and I'll give him that, he did a great job there, think it through though, if what Heyman says is true about Lesnar going into business for himself on something as BIG as him ending Taker's streak, WWE would have never worked with Lesnar again and they would have buried him at some point just like they did Warrior in that "self destruction dvd" back in 2005.....@@pepewr
Thank You Paulie !!
paul heyman is still playing his character his whole life.
A 2016 video about a Wrestlemania that happened in 2012 in 2023.
*2014
Hate him or love him he's quite the genius.
Lol you fine the shit out of Brock Lesnar. A HUGE fine would have happened. They all knew it was going to happen. You don't go off script and beat something Vince has been working on and not get punished somehow.
People laughing at every word of Heyman for no fucking reason.
Love Paul, he has such character and tells a story like no other. Is he fucking with us or telling us something we shouldn't know? Like knowing how manny licks it takes to get to the center of a tootsie pop, the world may never know.
Undertaker losing the streak and not retiring was one of the biggest mistakes ever.
Heyman is an American icon and a freaking genius. Theres no better. He literally tells you the truth and then makes you question weather the truth is real.
Paul heyman is so good man, so good at what he does as well absolutely smashes it everytime
The impression was classic 😂
I love Paul Heyman, the more he slithers the more I love the guy.
Always remember that Brock lesnar said on a radio show that he didn’t want to end the streak. So Paul is absolutely F’ing with us
Mark handpicked Brock to end the streak... he's said so multiple times. He had to talk Brock into doing it....
@@alexrompen805 here Taker say's Vince made the choice on the day and he didn't want the streak to end. But Taker is loyal to Vince

Is this a repost? I remember watching this years back
No one can imitate Vince like PAUL‼️🙏🏾🤣
Heyman is cold as ice, ether way the streak shouldn't have came to a end like that, the man was knocked out halfway through the match unfair victory if you ask me...
Love how it became their thing to do a vince impression
I love the way Paul illustrates his story….
What is going on? Why are previous clips being reuploaded like this?
Everyone looks at Paul E as a conman and a worker which he is but I put him in the same category as a Bobby Heenan. I can listen to those guys talk all day.
Of course he is fucking with us undertaker he self said 4 hours before the fight Vince told him Brock was going to win
Was Hayman visiting Suplex City the cause of the stroke induced speech impediment that makes him draw out the last syllable at the end of every sentennnnncccceee?
Holy shit Heyman was spot on with the McMahon impersonation.
how come they showed 21-1 then? Seconds after the pin?
Thumbnail goin nuts 💀
This is why Heyman is easily the best manager but he is the best on the mic of all time.
Paul educating marks on psychology is pure gold.
I feel like I’ve seen this reuploaded about 5 times now
No one knew except the graphics artist immediately displaying 21-1 lol
It's not hard to tell that Paul's father was a lawyer.
the fact they had the 21 - 1 graphic up on the screens around the arena. tells you they already had it planned.
He’s fucking with everyone. Undertaker came out and said Vince changed the end of the match right before Wrestlemania started.
I could listen to Paul talk about anything, and I'd believe it. If Paul E told me it was raining on a sunny day, I would believe him.
Love him or hate him……. The best talker in wrestling history. The man can really fuck your emotions up. God bless you Paul.
Umm great talker is between Paul heyman and JR
I believe the latter. But then again it's hard to tell. Because Paul is just so damn good at swerving people into believing one thing and it being another. But i believe it to be the latter scenario that played out.
Taker has already came out and said he was told when he got to the arena that day that Brock was going over.
Remember this was recorded 2016, undertaker has spoke about this since
This man is pure wrestling gold.
I love this conspiracy. Had the “21-1” graphic never appeared, I probably would still be curious about it.
Well that explains the look on Takers face when he set up after the match.
People say "oh if Brock got fired he'd just get a payday from AEW" but fail to realize a company may not be so quick/eager to scoop up a wildcard that can upend everything on a whim like that (& pay for the privilege no less). Huge liability on a few crucial levels.
Heyman is a BS artist
Emphasis on the artist
@@ronethegreat9genius
the thing is, ive heard Undertaker's side of the story-- basically, Vince pitched the idea, Taker asked "are you sure thats where you wanna go with it?" and Vince simply responded with "if not Brock, then Who??" and Undertaker followed his boss's orders amd the streak was done...
...and yet, hearing Paul's "version" of the story, despite KNOWING THE TRUTH, i still feel those little seeds of doubt sowing themselves into my brain...
point is, Paul Heyman is THAT GOOD on the mic...he could say that I'M the one who shot Kennedy, and id seriously consider turning myself in, even though JFK was assassinated some-30 years before i was born...
Facts there needs to be a super villain named after Paul Hayman in either DC or Marvel comics with the ability to give epic monologues to Heroes to make them question why they even do what they do and is it even effective💯😂🔥
If you watch, his music didn't play for about 30 seconds, the ref DID look confused, The 21-1 graphic was a simple live video transition they threw together last minute. Brock wasn't supposed to beat Taker, but Taker was legitimately concussed, couldn't kick out, and lost which is why Vince couldn't be mad.
Paul Heyman is fucking with you, if you look at the finish, taker doesn't even try to kick out.
Nah, Taker knew right before the match started. Vince came to him and told taker about the match finish change.
