Omg guys! This is it, I’ve watch 500+ videos, no exaggeration and this is definitely the best layout that would fit me and my husbands needs as well. We are mexicans thinking of moving to Canada for work but I am worried about falling into the rat race (as you mentioned in this other van tour) I really appreciate you sharing this! ❤
Aww! Thank you so much for your awesome feedback! Yes, the rat race is definitely a big issue here.. van living is definitely the best way to not get sucked in! We'd be happy to give you any advice you may need in considering your move up here. Feel free to reach out to us on our Instagram or email (in the description) as we love to be able to share from our experiences to help others!
Guyss!!! I totally LOVEEE you for your van-home!! I keep searching for home-vans with a rear kitchen & washroom! Bless you 💛 Do you feel there are disadvantages with this van layout? & yass, I made it all the way to the end of the video!!!😅
Thanks Kenny R, and thanks for making it to the end! haha! That is a GREAT question... What I would say is, in our opinion, if you're going to live full time in a rig this small, it's better to have the walking space end to end. We have been in garage bed vans and they always feel so claustrophobic to us. That being said, with our layout bulk storage could be an issue. We do have a couple large storage drawers (that we cut out for time on this video). They were originally holding some of my guitar gear, but they have since been cleared out, so it is a better situation now. Lesson learned: When moving into a van you build and bring in for your own priorities. And sometimes those priorities change - and to hopefully less-space consuming priorities...and that your partner was being very patient for you to make those changes so they could then have more storage space. (Ellie's a saint.) Also, we'll never store bikes inside our van, however for us, we don't have expensive bikes we need to keep hidden away, but we do need to feel like we have livable space to operate and keep sane in. With this layout, we don't feel like we're in a van at all. We'll talk more about this kind of stuff in upcoming videos. :) - Oh yes.. can't access the fridge once the bed is made. lol If you do want to see a tour with some more details, I did do a more detailed tour back in 2020 with Different Media. The link is here: th-cam.com/video/pGoLM9Acy9A/w-d-xo.html Are you thinking of doing a build or going into van living?
@@kageandellie maybe build one in the future, so I’m learning as much as I can from people who’ve already done it and got wisdom to share. Thanks for sharing your story!
That's great! We're mainly going to be doing content (as time allows) that we hope will be helpful for viewers in your situation. We love to be able to share from experiences. Are you posting anything in IG?
Can't wait to see the trailer you built out.. Great idea that the van doesn't have the traditional Vanlife bed. 👍 Your edits and b-roll camera pov views are excellent. 💪
Thank you! Yes, we felt that a permanent bed takes up so much useable space. Instead, we can use the entire thing back to front.. Ellie loves having so much working space throughout the day. We have started the trailer tour, however that is on hold as I have had an sudden gap in my work schedule so I'm going to start blitzing the roof rack start to almost finish...then we can show the full concept in completion!
Awesome - this is my fav of many dozens I've seen, because... I've always like exterior doors opening to the outside, the bed placement doesn't block rear access (and you could still fit a e-bike inside), huge kitchen work space, toilet (compost) and shower (although I prefer hidden, recirculating, showers to keep a little extra space and endless showering), the swivel seat, dualies and 4x4 (or all wheel) for obvious reasons - and I can't wait to go find the trailer vid. When I'm ready, this is the set-up I want for RV free range living!
Thank you so much for all of your kind words and feedback! We are a little delayed on getting the trailer video out, as it turns out, we decided to finish the trailer before giving the reveal.. sooo video will be out next month! We are happy to have been able to give you some inspiration for your dreams!
Yes! We were there back in September! We loved the area and definitely want to come back again. We keep sending our friends there as well to check it out too!
Not yet, but it is the current one on my project list! If you want to reach out to us on instagram (if you have it), you're welcome to bounce ideas off of me and I might be able to give you some advice! (@kageandellie). That or shoot us an email (in the description). The trailer video is realistically going to take a few weeks to a month to complete at this point - I appreciate you asking, as it keeps the fire lit for me to finish it!
Thanks for subscribing David! Our goal is to be able to help people make informed decisions on what they do with their van/trailer/mobile life and how they want to live... hope we can be of help with that in the coming videos.. As for the plasti-dip, here's some of my advice: - watch ALL of the Plasti-Dip tutorials on their youtube and get the best understanding possible of how to apply it. - don't underestimate the amount of prep-time it is going to take to get ready (our van really took 2 days to prep, and one to spray. - for longevity, the Pre-Dip aerosol degreaser is THE MOST IMPORTANT STEP! --- ESPECIALLY when it comes to edges, trims, caulking joints, & transitions. If you've degreased once well.. do it again! This is going to be the weakest adhesion point for the plasti-dip to stick, and stay stuck! *Do not underestimate this part of the process!* Also, wear a respirator, gloves, and have fresh air supply for this step. - After the plasti-dip is applied, the after clean finish is really important as well. From what I see, you need to apply this bi-monthly or after washing. - If you're really dirty, you'll probably need to scrub down with the degreaser Pre-Dip again followed by the finish clear coat. Cleaning the stuff is a bit of a chemistry game, but it has preserved the life of our body by YEARS so, I'd recommend it in spite of the occasional maintenance. Where are you at with your build?
Nice video production and presentation, my guess is you guys are naturals or have been at kind of thing for years. Never used our outdoor shower and certainly wouldn't trust those flimsy pegs or curtain.
You do have a good eye and deduction there! We wouldn't trust the clothes pegs either in a public situation - up in the mountains, sure, public areas and the birthday suit.. we'd sooner use our interior shower. This was more for demonstration purposes ;) We're rather new to the video stuff; thank you very much for your feedback! We don't have a lot of concentrated time to create content, but when we do we're trying to put out the best & most useful content we can!
This is the best van built i have ever seen bestest
That's so kind of you to say! We appreciate your encouraging words :) ~ Ellie

Love the thought process in the things you chose to put in the van, esp the heated floor
Thank you Valar! Lots of time thinking and planning...
