Thank you, Dede, for your courage to groom Sammy. Let me share Sammy’s story. He was abandoned in a home with a bag of food. My BIL found him, in poor health. After many $ at the Vet, he is now healthy. My BIL could not keep Sammy, so we adopted him. Sammy must have been mistreated, in the past, and now protects himself with his quick bite. For anyone talking bad about how it might hurt the dog, what will hurt is the risk of an advanced ear infection that can cause fatal damages to the dog. I love this groomer good work ! ❤️
Karen you are absolutely correct. I am Sammy’s Mom. I could not allow Sammy to get infections, but could not find a groomer who would accept him until Dede. Forever grateful for Dede.

We’ve had to do something similar with our dog when he was first adopted. He looked like a shaky raggedy mop. I have done dog training sessions alongside groomers working on my "difficult" dog clients. Dogs are very quick when they are stressed! Especially the little guys. She did a great job. Groomers that will take on difficult clients do not get enough credit (there are many that will not!). The alternative if the pet parent cannot find a groomer to work with their dog. Is to have them put under anesthesia at a veterinarian office for a shave down, nail trim, or ear plucking. With a brachycephalic (short snouted dog), putting them under anesthesia can be extremely risky. I have seen my groomer colleagues with some pretty terrible injuries 😕
Poor baby Musta had a really bad experience at one time or another. I love the way you get it done quickly and efficiently, and clean them good afterwards!

Hi Linda how are you doing. I'm Thomas from Norfolk, Virginia. I hope you are safe and in good health? I'm looking for a new friend and i saw your pic here. Hope you don't mind please, thank you.
This doesn’t hurt as much as people think it does what bothers most dogs is the sound of the hair releasing inside the ear canal. However it can become painful if the hair in the ears is allowed to build up like you were saying here and unfortunately the only way to handle it is to remove it like this. A few moments of stress for the dogs benefit is OK. If you have a professional that will take the time to work with the dog like you were saying here most dogs eventually become OK with it as long as it’s done regularly there really isn’t any pain involved 99% of dogs just sit there and don’t pay any attention whenever you are pulling the hair especially when it’s done regularly
Yup redirection, the technique is used a lot while restraining animals, I tend to tap on the dog's body and/or scratch the head when they're about to get something done
goes for touch too, and it helps a lot with drying dogs. most dogs dont like the dryer on their head (for very good reason, i wouldnt like it either lol) so i find that scratching their head or their butt when im trying to edge up the neck can help to distract them
You're brave to take this on. It seems like something he should almost be put under at the vet to clean, but anesthesia can be so expensive and vets likely expect groomers to handle anything to do with fur. Thank you for giving him some relief!
Thank you for taking these extremely hard cases and being patient. I hope you continue your work for a long time. Also I love your intro music. You don't have to worry about copyright infringement 😉
One time you need 6 hands it looks rough but iv had to be rough on critter to a point most would think it’s cruel but when their in pain it can’t be helped it’s more harm to let it go than fix it and when it heals up or cleared they are way more happy and better
I rescued a puppy 9 yrs ago. And he is still acting strange. Nobody can touch him. To cut his nails we have to put him to sleep (sedate him). This sedative medication is not good so we only cut his nails 2 times a year. He is a very complicated dog but he loves me and I love him. Nothing can be done to correct his nature so I just accept him.
I think that was really clever to have the dog pull out its own hair. It did work so well. My only question is: wouldn't it have been easier to have a 2nd person help you?
I worked at a groomers for like. a second. (a few months) and I found pulling hair from the ears was easier when you rubbed their ears before and after. I guess it kind of numbs it a bit? or helps the shock go away faster? regardless it has to be done or they get horrible infections. I have seen plenty of dogs in that short amount of time and the owner would refuse to bring them to a vet for the infection too! after we cleaned the ear we would tell them it HAS to be fixed and they would just be like "oh well the ear is clean now anyway so?" just keep your puppers ears cleaned is all. and give them love and treats when you do.
You handled that beautifully. We need more patient and dedicated groomers like you. I am ignorant about one thing though; clipping the hair in the ear won’t suffice, right? Does it have to be pulled?
Trimming it leaves the potential for build up of gunk at the base of the hair left over and it also allows for longer periods between each session. It’s like waxing our hair to prevent ingrown hairs and giving a break from having to shave every week or so.
I am sitting here listening to you talk to the dog and I started to giggle. Reminds me of when someone talks to a baby in that certain voice like you are for the dog yet they could be saying the evilest things and the baby would love it. I know of a breeder who brought an older dog over from Italy and the dog didn't know English. So all she had at first was the tone of her voice, the structure of her body and the expressions on her face. Like the international language of love. I got a bichon/Shizu mix 10 yrs ago and I started to hack her myself because she got extremely stressed when I took her in. She was traumatized. So I did with her what I did with my son and used the same machine. She got older and my house filled with teenagers and babies and cats so my parents literally kidnapped her. I would have to go over and do her face so she could see, clip her nails (sidenote, I was told to use the cat clippers and it worked awesome as they are smaller) and do her ears. One thing I love is how much my parents love her and she loves them. It is what was needed for them.
I'm so sorry you have to do that hun but I'm so proud of you for being so brave enough to do it. Oh and BTW every time I land on one of your videos and I hear you singing your opening music, I find myself singing it the rest of my day 😉

Thank you for taking these extremely hard cases and being patient. I hope you continue your work for a long time. Also I love your intro music. You don't have to worry about copyright infringement 😉
She does such a good job with him. Trying to distract him with her voice. So difficult for both of them.
Poor thing. Must hurt and itch. So great you cleaned them out 🥰
Good job groomer..I give you a 100 for a score..You have the patience to make sure you do a good job.Keep up the good work..
I am awe struck by the way you were able to successfully clean his ears. Your patience is amazing
One time you need 6 hands it looks rough but iv had to be rough on critter to a point most would think it’s cruel but when their in pain it can’t be helped it’s more harm to let it go than fix it and when it heals up or cleared they are way more happy and better
Thank you so much for your services. I love animals. ❤
That's right protection is a must. Good job.

I can help
This is clearly not her first rodeo. She is awesome!
She is a wonderful groomer , she loves the dogs and knows how to handle them .. Good job ❤
My Shihtzu is totally like this getting his ears cleaned. It is so necessary to prevent ear infection
I think that was really clever to have the dog pull out its own hair. It did work so well. My only question is: wouldn't it have been easier to have a 2nd person help you?
Nice job. Always amazes me how strong even the smallest animals can be.
Drill Sargent is in the house! ❤️ it! You are amazing Dede!
You are so amazing! Thank you for doing all you do!! I know that it can seem so thankless sometimes, but you are an angel 😇
I LOVE how you talk to the fur babies during the process🥰🥰🥰
We had this done for our poodle shih tzu mix.
Changed his life!!
The breeding seems to be part of the problem.
I love the talking distraction. It distracts and soothes the dog.
You handled that beautifully. We need more patient and dedicated groomers like you.
I am ignorant about one thing though; clipping the hair in the ear won’t suffice, right? Does it have to be pulled?
It will just build up over time if it isn’t pulled out; which can end up causing infections and harming his/her hearing 💜
Trimming it leaves the potential for build up of gunk at the base of the hair left over and it also allows for longer periods between each session. It’s like waxing our hair to prevent ingrown hairs and giving a break from having to shave every week or so.
When I calms down and let’s her clean them…it must feel so good to him.
It’s for it’s own good. Everything that’s good for yah honey it don’t always feel good to yah.👍
I love your distraction technique. I wish you were close to me as I have a fog just like this

I'm so sorry you have to do that hun but I'm so proud of you for being so brave enough to do it. Oh and BTW every time I land on one of your videos and I hear you singing your opening music, I find myself singing it the rest of my day 😉
I feel sorry for Sammy because you know he is scared and pulling ear hair out is obviously painful. She is doing a great job though and will save his parents vet bills!!
