You are the worse groomer i ever seen in my life. I've been grooming for 20 years. You didn't even take time to comfort the dog & get him to trust you. You never have the owners hold a dog! You are an absolute idiot! That poor dog!
A pet is a big responsibility it's like a child if you don't have the time for them don't have one ,they are the ones that suffer they look to us to love them and take care of them ,this girl is not a child and she's had the dog for 9 years there's no excuse she's been irresponsible
ssnellz judgemental much? So you lived on your own at 18 providing for horses and exotic cats, well bully for you. (Insert sarcasm here) Did it ever once occur to you as you were typing your reply that maybe there are issues in that young woman's family that prevent her from providing for a horse and an exotic cat. Seriously, I think that you need to understand one simple thing not everyone can afford to (mentally, physically, emotionally) do the same things you have done. Please think carefully before you type.
Darlene Perez it’s most likely not her dog so there’s no reason to bash her. Also we don’t know the situation before why she got like that and at least she’s doing the right thing
Blaming the girl for the behavior is unfair when she got the dog when she was 9. If anything blame the girls parents. She had the decency to claim the dog as her own and go through this process right with her. She probably could have left princess with her parents to deal with and she didn’t
Yeah i agree, and maybe the dog may have a problem so they need a real Vet to determine what princess problem with that groom thing.. And suggest that maybe she give her sedative so she can groom her evenly nicely
Exactly I'm in the same situation as her. I got my Shih-tzu, Chico when I was 8 years old in 2006. He's just as bad as Princess. He's not usually an agressive boy at all. So sweet. However, when it comes to grooming, he will be the most dramatic and evil dog in the world. There's nothing wrong with him except that he's always ugly, dirty and scruffy because he won't let me groom him. Whenever I bring him to the groomers, they never are able to finish. They just do a half ass job because they're scared of hurting Chico or themselves. I feel Selena. We're on the same boat and it's so embarrassing. I wasn't ready for a high maintenance dog such as the Shih-tzu. My parents could've gotten me a Beagle or something lol
I have so much respect for the fact that they weren't in denial about their dogs issues. They knew this would be hard, and they did the right thing by getting her groomed and taken care of. I hope they're doing well.
@@mori4133 They deserve a damn reality show! My mom’s dog was like that so my daughter took her. She was a Shih Tzu as well, same color, her name was Summer but it should’ve been Satan! 😂The thing is about her, she loved male humans.
I used to be a groomer....Someone made a remark about the table being slippery. The table tops are grooved rubber. The reason this dog is slipping is probably because she has overgrown nails. The groomer is doing an excellent job.
Jamie Luppino this is a grooming table. They aren’t slippery like exam tables. The dog is slipping around because she is acting like a fish out of water. She would slip around if there was glue on that table.
“No one grooms her, she gets turned away”. You’re AMAZING for working with this little dog and her people, the grooming industry needs more people like you. ❤
The groomer does an amazing job with making sure everyone is comfortable in the room. She’s not only just checking on the pets, but she checks on the owners as well. I like that.
I worked as a groomer and supported myself for 22 years grooming dogs of every breed and in two different states, and anyone who thinks this is not traumatic for that poor neurotic and misunderstood dog is out of their minds. Almost every veterinary clinic in the country offers grooming services and will often coordinate sedated grooming. That poor little dog. I don't blame the human guardians who obviously care for her, even if they do contribute somehow to her continued biting. The groomer even states at a certain point, "she has even calmed down a little", and obviously the little dog is EXHAUSTED and has surrendered out of extreme fatigue. Please notice the dog will still resist and would most certainly bite if she could, so there has been no progress made. This is tragic and so unnecessary ! Makes me ashamed to have ever been part of the industry.
Me as a mom of children found that we put our kids through the same traumatic experience. And I still see grown ups with the same the same problem at salons by calling it tender headed. The owner must do research and take on that responsibility of knowing what is expected of them as pet owners... Grooming is included. I do feel bad for both the dog and owner. I agree a sedative would help.
I’ve been a professional dog groomer for over 24 years and watching this video is so upsetting to me and I am honestly disgusted that any dog groomer would continue to traumatize any dog like this! This is terrible! And her saying this is like surgery?? Is she effing kidding me?!! Grooming should be enjoyable calming relaxing and comforting to the dog as much as it possibly can be; a good experience. I’m also surprised that the owner did not stop this but I believe she is intimidated by the groomer.... she has a very authoritative and firm voice and way of speaking. I would never put a dog through this especially when it’s completely unnecessary and unacceptable! There are options 🤬
D.L. Sosnik I worked as a groomer at a vet's office for years and it was wonderful. This dog definitely needs a sedative. People saying that a sedative would be too hard on her obviously can't see the amount of stress this is causing. I would much rather have a dog that was calm or asleep while grooming than a dog that is stressed to this point. I watched a dog fight to the point it collapsed from fear and exhaustion(at a previous employer).
Amen! I would never take any groom to this level or tolerate any of our other groomers doing this! I just cannot believe that this groomer is so against sedating but yet shes all for stressing an older dog so bad!y that shes going to the bathroom all over herself AND shes having an untrained in restraint techniques man hold that poor !ittle dogs body and then pushing her head to the table i guarantee that the dog now has bruising all over her poor litt!e body!! Thats ok ??? Disgusting!
I love how she would tell the owners "watch you head" and how she cared about not only the safety of the dog but with the owners as well you are a very professional groomer
I loved that too. And checking in on them to make sure they were OK. And the attention to making sure they knew how to do some things at home and that they'd come back - clearly cares about their welfare and the dog's in the future. Warms my heart.
@@lyndapell2773 we're we watching the same video? I heard the groomer say calmly.... "you're ok" several times... and the groomer talked to the dog in a sing song manner also several times, as well
I think this groomer deserves 10000000% RESPECT for having the patience and sympathy/compassion for understanding and working with such a difficult situation on both parts, and finding a solution. My hat's off to you lady✊👑💯👏💖 YOU'RE AWESOME👑
Like the groomer said it hurts to move the mats to cut them but the dog knows from experience that if she kicks off they'll stop. So it's a mixture of those two things. This is a very caring and experienced groomer who has managed to do what no one else has managed in 9 years with this dog.
I agree this groomer is a trooper, and determined to make these dogs look and feel better, I wouldn't get a breed that needed groomed, that's just me, all the groomers fees would really add up
I have the same breed. She gets groomed every 4 months and is a little angel. Starting them young helps. Same with doing nails on a dog. 45 every 4 months isnt too bad
I don't even know why or how I got here I have 5 dogs but none of them are long haired dogs...so whatever hair they lose is all over my house...YUCK....BUT HIGH FRIKIN FIVE....I WUD RECOMMEND YOU TO SHAVE MY MOTHER...
Despite everything that probably should have been done to get this dog used to grooming when she was a puppy, it's really great to see that the owners tried so many groomers without giving up on her.
My dog has literally been banned from 12 different groomers including the big commercial groomers like petco and we started as a puppy when the vet said it was ok. Tried every 3 weeks and he was good until he wasn’t and been snappy ever since.
@@samanthacooper3438 Probably the same reason you can't get anesthesia at tattoo parlors - the groomer doesn't have the necessary vet qualification to give dogs such serious medicine. If something was wrong they'd get sued.
Yes they are really being patient with her , poor little dog I feel sorry for her and the owner and the groomer . Things have to change her , she needs Cesar , the dog whisperer . See a little tail wag then . Xx
I love how the groomer stops and checks the color of the tongue when the dog starts heavy breathing/panting. Sometimes that means the pup is about to pass out. Amazing groomer. I’m a groomer too and I’m learning a lot from you
@@LouiseNah flu shots are a guessing game of viruses that contain a toxic chemical called thimerosal. It's used as a preservative, to stockpile it. It's a mercury (metal) derivative that crosses the blood- brain barrier. The metal thimerosal interferes with acetylcholine production in the brain. Without regular acetylcholine production, you run a high risk of Alzheimer's disease. There are studies I have seen out of Germany which shows over a ten-year period those who took yearly flu shots exceeded the national average by 12 TIMES to developing Alzheimer's disease. That's why flu shots are dangerous. It's about thimerosal being used as a preservative.
I wouldn't say the owner "took care of the dog". Owners will repeatedly bring their dogs in this state and not learn from it. Even though it's their "Princess" or "Angel". No training. No discipline. No socialization. Doesn't brush their dog. Doesn't treat for medications. That's probably WHY the groomer made them stay to help. I can't tell you how many owners just don't care or 'care' but lazy and ignorant. And ANY responsible owner would have taken their dog to a vet groomer to be sedated so that they wouldn't have been this severely stress for is very dangerous and unhealthy for the dog. I'm speaking as an experienced professional in this job. I see dogs like this every week with such owners. Even daily.
That was really nice work. I am a vet tech and there are quite a few dogs that behave like this. This dog was masterfully handeled. They need to be restrained until they stop struggeling to realize that no one will hurt them. It will get easier. Went through something similar with my own dog.
And this is why you train your dog from a young age. You start grooming as young as possible and socializing the dog so this doesn't happen. This is unacceptable behaviour for both small and big dogs.
exactly. People act like small dogs are always aggressive but it’s the lack of training. Same with big dogs. My dog wasn’t trained very good when she was young but she’s improving. She’s a bit above 1 year now.
@@gottem3958 Keep working on the training Nannia, dogs are worth it. About my first reply tat a nasty dog is a reflection of the owner . A dog is allowed to become nasty because the owner is nasty. There is absolutely no reason for an aggressive or nasty dog and they really do reflect the personality of the owner. That said, A dog is LOVE! That's all they want to do and that's all they will do if they are treated with love and care and affection. I have had 5 big dogs in my life and each one was a gentle loving animal with everyone they met. My first big dog was a rescue and was terrified and broken when I got him. Gentle, loving care for a few months and he became a most spectacular loving boy who loved everyone he met and was loved by everyone he met. Love overcomes all.
I love how the groomer coached the kids on what to do and constantly checked in with them to see how they're doing. And praised and talked to Princess too! Great communication!!
I think that they didn't speak to the dog much was because the groomer was talking a lot. She was explaining things and giving instructions so they didn't want to talk over her during the video. When the groomer walked away for a minute the mom tried to soothe the dog and told her "it's okay", several times.
You did an awesome job. I don't think it's abuse. It would be abuse if these people didn't do this. All those Tangles must have been very very uncomfortable and it painful too. They get tight around their skin and start pulling their skin and making sores in their skin. So I think the groomer did a great job and I think the owner did a great thing NOT GIVING UP until she finally found the right groomer to do this dog. And the groomer is awesome I absolutely would go to this woman if I had a troubled dog like that
Plus i mean look at how sensitive and raw her skin is from the matts! It would be cruel to not groomer. But i uderstand why some people who dont have grooming experience would simply see a stressed dog.
and the main reason some animals react like this is because of discomfort. theyre not used to it, there are strange noises and smells, and someone they dont really know is doing all these weird things. it can be stressful ,but id rather temporary stress to prevent issues than to let them get matted.
DragonGyrlWren THIS. We have a scottish fold cat and she's long-furred. We learned pretty early on that she does not like to be brushed, especially when she has knots and you're trying to work them out. It was a constant battle between trying to keep it as unmatted as possible while also not wanting to cause her the discomfort of detangling them. She would get especially bad matts on her neck below the chin, and we knew that one must pull every time she turned her head. We tried cutting it with facial hair scissors(?) but she would struggle too much to really help much without risking cutting her instead. Every chance I got that she put up with it, I was trying to detangle the growing matts by hand. Finally my mom took her to the groomer and they decided it would be best to shave her periodically. Totally shaved, down to the skin essentially, except for her head (trimmed), paws and tail. We noticed a HUGE change in her immediately. Sure, she doesn't look the cutest when she's freshly shaved (it's hilarious, actually, but don't tell her I said that) but she obviously feels so much more comfortable. When her fur is getting longer and she starts to get a few knots, she won't really let anyone pet her. When she's shaved, she'll let you pet all over her and even purr because, I'm sure, it feels so nice. tl;dr - momentary discomfort/anxiety/stress is worth it to free a dog from constant discomfort/pain.
As I was watching this video, at first I thought the dog was out of control but as the video progressed, I realised that it was behaving that way because it was stressed out & frightened. Even as humans, our natural instinct when in case of danger, is fight or flight. This dog felt deeply threatened and so it' natural instinct was to try to get away at all costs. Maybe she had a traumatic grooming experience when she was younger, we don't know. My heart goes out to this dog and kudos to the groomer.
Kelley Russell Calm down, would you rather the dog be covered in painful mats and fleas because nobody will trim it’s fur? At least the pet parents give enough of a shit to do the best they can. She doesn’t even have duct tape around her mouth, it’s just to help prevent her from hurting others and herself. Go actually do something useful like volunteer at your local humane society, your complaints do literally nothing to better animal welfare vs going out into the field and actually working your ass off.
Kelley Russell I’m not exactly sure why u felt a need to attack and cuss at me? I am a groomer and while I don’t always agree with everyone else’s methods, I was not there, I don’t know the whole story and it seems to me that Dede was the pet parent’s last resort. Some groomers won’t touch a biting dog. I applaud Dede for her efforts and willingness to help, even though I might not do it exactly as she does, because I’m not her. That doesn’t mean I will cuss or criticize what she does. Sometimes the vet has to hold dogs down to do necessary things to a dog who doesn’t like it. (Giving shots is a good example). The dog yelps, cries, and struggles, but it has to get done for the sake of the dog.. It is difficult to watch, but I believe Dede was doing it in the safest most humane way she possibly could. People don’t understand how painful and dangerous leaving mats on the dog can be. Moisture gets trapped beneath them and then bacteria and it causes sores and infection, not to mention the pain of the mats pulling the skin (and sometimes tearing the skin). I have seen it. So, you have to look at the big picture. The mats HAVE to come off for the good of the dog. Be kind to your fellow beings. She was also making sure the dog’s tongue wasn’t turning blue, which would indicate severe stress. She seems to know how far she can “push” the dog. ✌🏼
Grooming is a job not an ordeal-s/b initiated at a young age by the breeder, than the owner. Going to the groomer is the next progression if not undertaking the task personally. Failure to groom or tend to a hi maintenance dog is abuse 101. Animal planet has depicted dogs whose jaw is literally fused to their chest because of Matt’s and who eyes are fused shut for the same reason -
This is exactly what we go thru each time at the groomer. We've been blacklisted and asked to leave all over town. I've offered cash, offered to help restrain, brought treats for the groomer, tried different medications, everything I can think of. So now I let my boy grow out as long as I can stand it and then have to go to the vet for a $300 haircut under anesthesia. If people would socialize their pets when they're young, all of this stress on the pet, owner and groomer could be avoided. BTW, you have the patience of a saint! Good work!
U are not ignorant, youve done the best you can. I recomend finding a groomer who also does training and and specializes in animal behaviour. They are out there. I am one, and know of two others. U want to find these people online, we usually do not work for big organizations long because we want better for our clients and some big company regualations keep us from doing the most for clients with difficult dogs because the business is time based. Find someone who can come to ur house. Work with u to socialize the dog with that person. Listen to them and take and use whatever advice they give u. So that when they do eventually groom ur dog its a much less stressful situation for the dog.
Try CBD oil or straight out weed. They make CBD for pets but honestly I don't think weed would hurt anything. Just be sure there's nothing else mixed with it.
Jasmine Tramack if this dog is a rescue she might be hard to train even professionally. I think this couple is doing the best they can for their dog. It’s obvious that this dog doesn’t like human contact other then the couple touching her. I agree that the groomer is doing a great job, but I think you should think more deeply about the situation before making this comment.
it’s not about training. i work at a kennel that does grooming. she can be well behaved for everything else but once you start doing something to a dog that they don’t like it’s not about training them. what if you were in their situation and having something done to you that maybe hurts because of all the matts and it’s scary to the dog
singingstar56 thank you!! My dog has fear aggression and I’ve had so many people call my dog a bad dog or a mean dog and blame me for not “training” her. The thing is that she is trained. She’s knows a number of commands and is very affectionate with me until I start messing with something that bothers her like treating her skin allergies or clipping her toenails. She’s never bit me hard before but I do occasionally get warning nips and that’s because she loves me to death and I love her. Anyone else and she has to be muzzled specifically at the vet. They’ve told me it’s just the temperament of some dogs. She’s a chihuahua. She has anxiety and is allowed Benadryl for when we have visitors because she freaks out. I hate how people automatically just assume it’s the owners fault or that the dog isn’t trained. I love my dog more than anything in the world and have had her since she was 5 weeks old. Dogs only have certain ways of communicating and they’re smaller than humans so they can’t just walk away when they dislike something and so if you force them into something they’re scared of the only way they have to tell you they’re scared or dislike something is to growl, try to get away or even bite.
The groomer did the best she could in this situation. My real issue is the dog’s behavior. That is totally unacceptable. I have a Doberman Pinscher (male/85lbs). He wouldn’t dare. How do you have a dog and you have to protect your face from getting bit? My dog knows his teeth are to never come in contact with anyone’s skin. This dog needs training!
AllAboutAsia no offense but I have a dog that has always been like this. I tried socializing him from a very young age, he always hated everyone besides me and my immediate family members. I’ve tried, I really have. It hurts when people always throw the blame back on the owner. I don’t think it’s entirely fair. Surprised your comment was “hearted” by the poster (who I’m assuming is also the groomer or works with the groomer? I’d scroll up to confirm but then I’d have to discard my comment). Don’t shit on your customers 🤷🏼♀️ we’re all imperfect beings trying to do our best out here. Parent shaming is real and so is pet parent shaming.
Jayne Karinova I understand to a certain degree. Sometimes it can be where the dog came from. The parents of the puppy. What were they like and how was their temperament. We’ll never know for certain because behavior for each dog is different. But once the dog is now in your home it is then up to the owner to provide the proper training. Whether you hire someone/send the dog away for training or do it yourself. My issue was the behavior with the biting. There is no excuse and that is to not be tolerated. So maybe with these particular owners they just don’t know how to handle it. & if anyone owns a dog and they don’t know how to stop a dog from biting people then they shouldn’t have that particular dog.
Tbh I don't really agree it's dog it's an animal I understand it being like this in the situation animals have amazing instincts and this dog probably has particularly good instincts which is why it responds this way something foreign. It's just scared.
give givememoney So it’s up to the owners to introduce “grooming” from an early age. So in turn the dog is used to it. There is nothing no one can say to make “biting” acceptable. That’s life or death. A dog can seriously hurt someone if the bite them. Your dog can also be put to sleep if they really injure someone and that person takes it to that level. I understand if a dog is uncomfortable but, under no circumstance should your dog try to bite you in the face because they are getting a hair cut. This is not up for debate.
AllAboutAsia Same. My dog was taught from weeks old that teeth never touch skin. Ever. She’s smart, so she got it quickly. Was never an issue after that. If I had a dog I couldn’t teach that to & I was legit scared of being bitten, I’d destroy the dog. No WAY would I tolerate that, nor pass it on to someone else to have to deal with. No good.

@@nicolep5742 I have been doing it for years! Training? I have reddish training from many different trainers and behavior specialists. I am constantly researching as well as learning what works and what does not. The training I have is from working with thousands of dogs including being a trainer for an animal rescue for dogs who come to us completely broken who would have otherwise been put down. I use methods that are effective for each and every dog because each and every dog learn differently. I stay as positive as each dog will let me stay while doing everything I can to protect me and my staff from dogs that are massively aggressive. My goal is to give each dog guidance without causing them to be fearful. That will only mask behaviors. No offense, but that question about using "science based methods" Is hilarious. It sugar coats what you are trying to ask which is " do you use negative reinforcement or not" Every method is a science based method. Scientifically, if you beat the crap out of a dog, they will submit to you and stop a behavior. But you break the dog of its ability to trust a human and the behavior is still there, lying underneath and waiting to come out. Short term effectiveness with long term implications. To answer your real question, no. I try not to use negative reinforcement unless necessary to protect an immediate threat to bodily harm, which I try to take measures to prevent ever being in that situation, but miscalculations will happen after dealing with the volume of dogs I've dealt with. I'm constantly learning from my own and others mistakes. However I always bring it around to being positive and keeping that dogs tail wagging.
You are a behavior specialist and you agree with this? Yeah this is a nightmare for this dog. Explain to me what she did to change the behavior, if you would.
@@cindysmith2551 this is just the start. If they keep up with regular grooming with her itll become easier on tje dog since it wont be matted and will hopefully get her to calm down over time once sje realizes even the slightest that its not so bad
I cried watching this because I’m so impressed by how you handled this! You have the biggest heart ever! I had recent issues at a groomer and I questioned if there are any sweet people left. You are one!!! Thank you for all you do! God bless you.
I do not understand why people are being so blaming and nasty about the owners and/or so judgmental about the dog ! Fears are real ,but irrational and therefore we can't just demand the dog "behave" . We don't know the history of the dog and how it got this fear (terror) ,but it is having a trauma response and is clearly so terrified it can't regulate its behaviour and that is sad for everyone . This is NOT a badly behaved dog ! . Even the groomer has made it clear that the dog is highly stressed and fearful....As you can see laying the dog down down worked much better and it became calmer, but it is trial and error to find what works and it takes a lot of time to change ingrained behaviours. Dogs are very prone to mental health issues (because they have been bred in a way to meet OUR needs and not for their needs) .These issues are not always the fault of the owners. We rescued an abused dog as a puppy and 6 years later we still can't wash it and it has huge phobias due to the previous owners cutting the nails to the quick !This means we can't cut the nails and have to walk him twice a day on a hard surface to trim them. You could judge us ,but you wouldn't know how hard we have worked to help our dog (even paying for a dog therapist). This is a case for compassion both for the dog and those that want to help it.Kindness goes a long way.
Everyone is so critical because they've had the dog 9 bloody years, never said no, never bothered to train and let it get into this awful state! There is every reason to be critical, 9 years is a long time to let the dog keep getting fleas and matted all the time, and all those matted areas will be so sore and tender it makes it hurt to move; so I have every sympathy for the dog and no sympathy for the owners! I hope she bites them for leaving her like that! Terrible!
I agree completely on where you stand on the dog's behaviour, entirely not her fault, dogs like children need to be taught. How long do you walk your pooch to file down his nails as our girls hates her feet being touched so have already been walking her on hard surfaces but her nails are still a tad long so wondered if the hard surface walks need to be longer?
@@tigerpritchard9924 We take our dog for 2 walks (once in the morning and again in the evening for at least 40 minutes)on a path or earth and we also get him to run on a stretch of rough path (just a short run for a few minutes)... however recently we have endured very hot weather and our dog also injured his leg meaning that he couldn't get the time he needed to keep the nails trim (although we have managed for 3 years to keep them quite short) . Even after the leg recovered and it got cooler the walks were not making the nails short enough so recently we decided to try again to get his nails trimmed at the vet. After discussions with the vet I placed him on the table with the vet holding the leash on a harness and then left the room (which apparently made our dog much calmer) After I left the nurse placed a towel over his head which made him even calmer and he stood quietly to have his nails cut !!! Everyone was surprised ! He was very keen to go home but he seemed o.k.... While I don't think we should try and cut his nails, it is fantastic to find a vet and a nurse willing to try some new methods and succeed so well....good luck with your dog
Our pupper bites the hands of anyone touching her paws more that 10 seconds, not a bad bite before anyone thinks wrong, she chews your hand til you stop 😂 she loves her vets but she even won't let them touch them, she was previously having 2/3 20 minutes walk on hard ground plus a long period over a field to dig but where it's been so cold and wet over here she hasn't had much chance til the weather has got better over the past couple of weeks. She doesn't mind her ears and her teeth and anything else messed with but she really hates her paws touched, we've had her from 8 weeks and the whole time apart from giving paw she's had a problem with people and her paws 😂
Thank you! Someone with a brain who can understand that the dog is just scared!! He’s in an unknown place with a stranger who put a noose and a cone around his neck while telling his owners to choke him out. Pets can have anxiety and in their eyes this is a high stress situation.
They obviously didn't train the dog from a puppy we had our little doggies trained I had a shitzu and my son my youngest son has a chihuahua and when they were first born from the time they were 6 weeks old we've been down and we'd try and take their bone away from them and take a toy out of their mouth or away from them and lean down and pretend to eat their dog food in the bowl with them and whatnot so they were trained like this so even when they were grown up Mom would say a dog is still an animal and you have to be cautious around animals because they could snap it anytime I understand that but do you know it's 16 years of age and at 12 years of age they have never thanked the Lord bit anybody no one they barked but they've never bit anyone we have played with them where we've still pretended to take their toy away or reach down and take their bone and pretend to eat their food with them still and we'll just get licked on the face they're fabulous so no it's like they got the dog and just put the food down and backed up from the dog we're afraid to do anything with the dog just like it's a dog and that's it not part of the family and it's sad and my kids never did that if my kids ever gravel try to bite me back then I'm telling you smack upside the back of the head 140 135 one's 28 never hit them never hit my grandchildren there was no need to punish them and nowadays you can't save the kids go to your room cuz they want to go to their room with all the game systems LOL
Anyone that wants a long haired dog should watch this video. Then decide if they are capable of training a dog for grooming and willing to put in the time and effort.
kayBTR it's not even that hard to get a dog to be well trained for a grooming. And plus, If you're going to get a long haired dog you should know better and brush it daily. Most of my dogs are long haired and I brush them everyday so they won't get matted.
This is what I was thinking. So many people get the wrong dog for their family. Lazy people get Jack Russel's, hikers get Bulldogs, people in the desert who are gone long hours get Husky's and leave them outside in the heat... People should fully research before getting any kind of pet.
heheh I can vouch for the energy of a Jack Russel, and that they need a busy human to keep them company. I'm the archetypal couch potato. But to be fair it wasn't a matter of "oh my god I must have a this breed of dog". We were just rescuing Benjy, who happened to be a Jack Russel. He was with us for 16 years, and even 2 years later it's still weirdly quiet in the house without him getting into things and "commentating" on everything.
I had a poodle that was worse so my vet gave us an anti-anxiety. He didn't sleep but he was calm. Too much anxiety is not good for the dog but I love how caring you are to him and mom and dad!
I cant say this enough Dede is the best!! This was by far a very dangerous groom. She handled this like a professional while at the same time teaching the pet parents how to handle there baby, we all must agree Dede needs to applauded for the dedication and strength she puts into her profession. Great job Dede Great job!! I also want to say thank you to all the groomers out there that do this for our pets I thank you and appreciate everything you do.
For those wondering why not sedate her: - it is dangerous to sedate senior dogs - it is dangerous to do grooming on even a mildly sedated dog because it's near impossible to tell signs of critical stress and medical emergencies - usually for dogs like this we recommend a vet to groom them because they can sedate and groom
You just said it's " not okay to sedate" then, recommended sedation... Huh?? Why don't you saaayyy.... Sedation should be done by a vet only?? Or only in the presence of a veterinarian??
@@baberina1 yes that's what I meant. Groomers cant work on a sedated dog but obviously if a dog is dangerously matted or has nasty nails they need help and vets are the only ones able to do that.
You can safely groom a dog that has been given consciencous (sp?)sedation! Or an all natural calming supplement! But a low dose that each dog can handle!! The dog has to be able to stand and his breathing has to be watched! Monitored! But it's all safe just pre-test the supplement before the groom.
@@TobiBallLikeKobe I know it's expensive but if you brush your dog regularly they won't be matted so bad And if you train your dog they would be misbehaved 🤷♀️
I sure wish people would be required to have to take a basic education course in person, before being allowed to own a dog. Basic training, positive re-enforcement, that sort of thing. I've had many many adopted dogs that just needed a LOT of consistency, and training. They were all able to become family pets, and the Littles that had anxiety were all provided covered kennels to retreat to where no one was allowed to bother them. Only one out of 13 dogs in 40 years had to be put down due to severe aggressive behavior that could not be overcome.
I have NEVER felt compelled to leave a comment but I HAVE to say YOU are soooooo amazing and special. THANK YOU for the TLC that you gave not only to this fur baby but to the fur baby’s humans!!!
Everyone here has balls of steel!! My anxiety went wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy up just watching. Great job everyone I don't think I could do this.
omg i knw! this is so hard to watch! they should have pet her and talked to her to comfort her! i thought maybe she is hurt and thats why she cries when she touches the legs. id wanna sedate her instead of this! lord...
my dog sony has been in my family for 10 years no one ever trained her or groomed her and didnt really care much about the dog. my dog was aggressive and would bite anyone if they pissed her off except me i was never educated about dogs and as i got older i started caring more and more for my dog sony . she would always let me shave her up to her butt area she would wanna bite. point of my story is the matts on her back legs got so bad from not letting me groom her that her skin opened up from all the hair being pulled. i took her to the vet and they sedated her so they could trim her I FELT HORRIBLE !!!! POINT IS THAT NOW I KNOW AND I AM OLDER AND IM ABLE TO TAKE FULL RESPONSIBILITY AND I applause the young lady for taking initiative for her dogs well being.
Good for you. You're growing up and actually being responsible. You should be proud of yourself for that. Although if your dog is aggressive you should probably try some retraining of some sort. If possible a private trainer. If not then just talk to some trainers. As well as do research from books, tv, TH-cam especially, and maybe something like skillshare. Which is a site that let's you learn pretty much anything from other people who already know it. Some TH-cam videos are sponsored by them and can get you two months for free. They'd have grooming videos as well too.
That sounds horrifying. Poor dog. Yes too many people have kids and dogs who can't even take basic care of them thats free. Glad you finally took care of the dog.
Amy E . You are so right. I thought my was the cutest dog. Was never able to crate her because she hated it. In order to be groomed she has to be sedated. She already bit me once. She was sleeping in my bed. I moved the blanket so she bit and dislocated my finger. I know all this is my fault. She is a little nightmare. But I love her. When I saw the video. I told her ' I found your twin".
Princess KNOWS she the boss at home. She needs training along with her owners. Stressful situation for all. Thanks for hanging in there and giving that doggy some much needed relief.
The number of ppl who are saying to sedate, a senior dog especially, and needing to be groomed about monthly, either you have no idea or just don't care if the dog dies for making your job easier.
Seraphine Wolfstar honestly it’s easier on the dog to groom more often. If you wait to long you could end up in this situation. It’s not about making our jobs easier. It’s about keeping the dog or cat comfortable and do what’s in their best interest. Also sometimes sedating is the better way. Not always but sometimes. Most groomers care more about the pet then the paycheck.
This dog had a higher chance of dying from shock than it's chances of dying during sedation. The fact this dog shit itself is fact enough that its body was shutting down.
What a lovely way to treat a dog that is afraid and thinks she's in command. The vocal point is just trying to make you think she's the boss.... you were so kind and caring! YOU are a very good groomer!
I also had a similar situation. I always did my own grooming, never had mats, etc., however, I decided she should go to a groomer once in a while. She was very fear aggressive with anyone else but me so we were turned away from several places. One day I took my poodle to be groomed by a private groomer I found and I had my Shih Tzu with me. I told the groomer that she could do the poodle but not the Shih Tzu. She immediately started working with her that day and it took her about six months to get the dog to accept her, the grooming, and calmness. Now, no troubles at all!
@@idumabest7087 bruh, you think it's a good idea to just insult people on the internet. I am tired of drama on TH-cam. It makes me mad. You are a bully
I give it to you Dede... teaching owners in a constructive and affirming way while getting the groom done is definitely above and beyond. Good for you for taking the time to educate pet owners.
Dede, this was where you really shine imho. Teaching the pet parents, taking good care of the dog and getting the job done. It really doesn’t matter what happened in the past, just that going forward the keep bringing her back to you and they listen to you and do their homework. Great job all around. 👍🏼
Actually it can be satisfying to help an animal :) Certain things would stress people out if they didn't love it but for me- I know helping an animal is actually quite fulfilling and not stressful most of the time
It can be stressful but it is also rewarding. I'm covered in scars from bites etc. But normally after a couple of times if the dog is like this one, it realizes I'm not going to hurt it. Gets better every time!
Poor dog. Ours has been groomed so many times she literally naps on the table LOL. Hopefully this groomer can develop a relationship with this dog so it calms down.
I brush my dog several times a day. I keep her brush on top of the toilet. Everytime I go the the bathroom follows me in and stands right next to the bowl. While I do my business she gets a good brushing. It's easy to sweep up the hair off the floor I keep a little dust pan set under the sink. This is our daily hygiene routine. Takes no extra time out my day to keep her coat impeccable.
I've been grooming over 13 years there's this pill called ace you get it from your local vet it is kind of like a sedation pill but it doesn't knock them out or anything just helps relax them so grooming is safer for the pet and for the groomer an it helps to relax the dog and takes away some of the anxiety
I was a vet tech for 13 years and we had plenty of dogs that were aggressive and unable to give vaccines, toe nail trims or even a simple examination. The vet did prescribe a simple doggy downer, given half an hour before the visit and it was so much easier to work with these animals. Less traumatic on the owners, vet and especially the dog. I really don't know why some owners refuse, they say they don't want to give drugs to their dog (like it's going to become addicted or something) yet they will watch as their dog is wrestled to the ground, with a muzzle and held down by three or four people just to do a simple toe nail trim. Owners! Go for the drugs, your animal will appreciate you more!
Acepromazine needs to be prescribed by a doctor and actually can be hard on the heart if this animal happens to have some form of heart disease that is unknown it can be a bad idea to give Ace, please take your animals to a veterinarian before giving anything the internet tells you. Drugs work on different organs and if there is some form of organ failure drugs can be a problem with any medication
Depends on the animal. I have been a groomer for 6 years and worked as a vet assistant for 6 years, some concurrently. I have seen Ace knock a mastiff down so that it took four people to move her. I’ve also seen a 30 lb corgi take the mastiff sized dose and fight through it, so that he was still snarling and snapping. Sometimes Benadryl works. Sometimes Ace is the answer. Most times, desensitization and time are the best answer.
I would agree. The dog needs to have this done regularly so that she knows it’s no big deal. She’s learned over time she can get out of handling by having a tantrum. However one thing that I have found works well is that when they stop immediately change your tone to a soothing verbal praise. And try not to verbally loudly correct too much when they are flipping out because that just makes them tense up more. I tend to use more of a low admonishing tone until they get a little more control of themselves again. Also prefer a muzzle to a cone. Owners, you cannot be afraid of your own pet, you’ve got to teach them to submit to reasonable handling! if you need help ask for help! I’m glad this lady is willing!
im a groomer in the netherlands and i realy love your approach and how you handle this dog. i also do agrassive/scared dogs thats my speciality besides terriers. the owners are also fantastic! they realy stay calm and i know thats difficult! this dog will get there im sure. keep up the good work!
Danielle Rijerkerk as a professional groomer, can you tell me why you don’t just sedate the dogs? Then there wouldn’t be the problem with squirming/biting, right? Is it just too expensive or dangerous to sedate them?
@@silverweb7795 it is both expensive and dangerous. Also, as groomers...we can't make anyone sedate their pet. We can recommend they take meds beforehand...but that is up to the owner. Groomers can't prescribe meds. And then there are also a lot of things that could go wrong while the dog is sedated. That's another issue. I personally would like it if dogs that were this aggressive could be sedated a little beforehand...but there are also times where I've seen it not even work. It really just depends. Sometimes people can't afford the vet cost and cost of the meds. Every situation is different.
That looks like a whole lot of fear. They can give anxiety meds to the dog to help calm them down. Our former stray cat gets those for vet visits and it makes it much less traumatic.
Dede, this is the best video I've seen of yours with a stressed dog. You seemed more relaxed, or at least didn't let Princess see it. I had a dog that wouldn't let any groomer touch him after a bad experience, I finally bought as many tools as I could afford & learned how to do it myself. The places he didn't want touched were his paws & tail. I made sure to gently caress them daily & tell him what a good boy he was.
Stormy Rain I had a Lasha Apso that 4 different groomers asked me to Never to come back. I went to grooming school and 25 years later I'm still at it. Thank you little man Chester for my career!
Yeah, where were all the "arm-chair quarterbacks" and "expert" groomers commenting here, before the owner took the dog to this groomer? Did you hear the part where the dog was turned away by other "expert groomers"? I dont think they did anything wrong here. Just look at the dog by 3/4 of the way was way calmer, though still aggressive to the groomer. Kudos to the groomer. I know the owner got the dog when she was young, but her parents should have made sure the dog was taken care of properly.
Or it's just a dog without proper discipline. Dogs don't bite and get nasty like this if properly trained. They absolutely should have been brushing the dog, whether they could get someone to groom it or not. Those dogs need brushing or they mat, it's not about whether it's been cut or not.
Wow the owner has a heart of gold because there is absolutely no way I could tolerate this!!!!!! And as far as the grooming you’re amazing!!! So professional, so patient and aware! Amazing job!
Yup, this is how my dog acts, she even foams at the mouth... I started grooming her myself because nothing seems to calm her, and she stays calm with me. But at the groomers? It's a whole different story.
I've got a standard poodle and I brought him to the groomers ONCE when he was a puppy. Apparently he bit, he's the sweetest dog and even takes treats so gently so I dunno how traumatised he must have been to have bit. I do him at home now and it's fine, he even loves taking a bath and knows once he's been shaved down it's treat time so will queue up for a chew.
Love your videos, they have helped me so much! 4th year groomer and just started my own business. I’m by myself most all the time, and just watching this I feel it’s okay to ask for help from the pet parents as well. I’m too nice and have to learn to get over that!
its a shame they don't understand that you are helping them it does look brutal watching some of the states the dogs get into but its for their own good and im sure they feel amazing in the end. keep up the awesome work your a diamond xxx
Wight Queen if the owner would keep practicing the restraint part of the grooming then it’s likely that by the next couple of grooming appointments she would be a hell of a lot better with the restraining part of the grooming!
oh dear... you do realise that talking like that to a dog will only convince it that it must be a terrible thing? It only hears the tone of voice which in this case would be like a whining dog.
My toy poodle just passed a few months ago at 13. This dog makes me miss and appreciate her so much more. I couldn't imagine having a dog like this. Mine was an absolute angel. She hated being groomed but the most she would do is sit down and shake.
My dog hates being groomed as well, but she just becomes stubborn and sits and shakes. Only issue comes when a dryer is near her face then she will hit it with her paws, but she doesn’t bite.
How rude of you to say ‘ I couldn’t imagine having a dog like this’ the dog is scared that’s all!!! Maybe she’s been traumatized... appreciate what you had... but don’t judge innocent beings...
@@priscillapie I wasn't saying it in a bad way. I meant because she so scared and stressed out I would absolutely be in tears seeing my dog this way. Don't just assume I meant it in a negative way.
All praises to the groomer. This is very traumatic to the poor doggie. This doggie should be sedated with a mild sedative and ease her into grooming. I'm sure she must have suffered some trauma of some sort in the past. Also she need training by a good dog trainer. But all praises to the groomer.......She is good and so patient and brave.
I asked my vet for some sedatives for my nutty dog she freaks out with loud unexpected noises like probably most dogs she just takes it to another level. Nothing wrong with drugging the dog for something traumatic or extremely stressful to them.
@@gordonpeirce5967 I have tried every vet approved medication to calm my dog. They actually make him more aggressive. Nothing short of sedation at the vet office works. I did buy a cordless clipper with low volume and I have been moderately successful clipping my spaniel. Still working to get him to allow pads and face groomed. Every day or two we work together plus treats to desensitize him. His cut is pretty short and chunked as I am experimenting with learning how clipper works and he is a moving target but I think I am winning his trust.

You are an absolute idiot! That poor dog!
Why are commentors being harsh on the pet mom? She’s only 18 and she was responsible enough to find De De and get a handle on things.
Thank you! exactly. They must not have listened. Family got the dog when she was 9 .... right?!
A pet is a big responsibility it's like a child if you don't have the time for them don't have one ,they are the ones that suffer they look to us to love them and take care of them ,this girl is not a child and she's had the dog for 9 years there's no excuse she's been irresponsible
And the young woman in the video that you all are calling the pet mom, is NOT the pet mom. that would be her mom that would be the owner of the dog
ssnellz judgemental much? So you lived on your own at 18 providing for horses and exotic cats, well bully for you. (Insert sarcasm here)
Did it ever once occur to you as you were typing your reply that maybe there are issues in that young woman's family that prevent her from providing for a horse and an exotic cat.
Not anybody's fault, some dogs never get over the fear of grooming and others get anxiety later in life. (Good Thoughts, Good Words, Good Deeds)
Crystal Hicks not all tables are made with the same tops and you can hear the dogs nails on the table if it was rubber there would be no sound.
When I grow up ima be a groomer but right now I’m way too young
Jamie Luppino this is a grooming table. They aren’t slippery like exam tables. The dog is slipping around because she is acting like a fish out of water. She would slip around if there was glue on that table.
That's not rubber. It's textured plastic.
So would putting a folded up towel on the for better grip help any? Or is that just for cats to dig their claws in in the bathtub?

Susan Jones What?
Louise Nah vaccines are highly toxic. flu shots basically give you the flu.

Although I hate to see a dog stressed, I'm so very proud of the owner for taking care of her dog, and the groomer deserves an award!
Agree! A dog's personality is a reflection of its owner!
Absolutely! As the humans have to be leaders, masters.
She has been allowed to be the boss, needs to change, fast! Good dog just needs parents that know how to handle her...
I'm so glad she didn't turn the dog down. It seriously needed some grooming

Great groomer.should suggest a sedative be given next time.

This made laugh till tears ran down my face!!!

I love how the groomer coached the kids on what to do and constantly checked in with them to see how they're doing. And praised and talked to Princess too! Great communication!!
KIDS???? THEY OWN THE DOG!
I think I would give him a sedative 😵
Yes you can't just let matted fur go. You have to bring the dog to a groomer if you aren't able to safely do it yourself.
Yeah temporary pain is better than chronic especially if it helping u get rid of that never ending pain
and the main reason some animals react like this is because of discomfort. theyre not used to it, there are strange noises and smells, and someone they dont really know is doing all these weird things. it can be stressful ,but id rather temporary stress to prevent issues than to let them get matted.
Princess is the wrong name for that dog. Lol

Yes ,, maybe Hercules ,good name for that dod ,,,,😂😂😂
I would name it Killery.

I this case maybe speak to your Vet about a mild sedative before the next grooming . This dog is a danger to herself with such fear as this !
A mild seditive and an extra half. ☺
I agree with you it’s painful to watch this poor dog going thru this much stress
They would need to get the sedative from the vet first but from Dede often does dogs who can’t use them due to other complications or it not working.
And a muzzle
One of my dogs hates being groomed and we use ACP and it works wonders
As I was watching this video, at first I thought the dog was out of control but as the video progressed, I realised that it was behaving that way because it was stressed out & frightened. Even as humans, our natural instinct when in case of danger, is fight or flight. This dog felt deeply threatened and so it' natural instinct was to try to get away at all costs. Maybe she had a traumatic grooming experience when she was younger, we don't know.
My heart goes out to this dog and kudos to the groomer.
i agree because my dog was fine at one time he hates the groomer now
Quite literally scared the shit out of the poor thing.
Not the groomers fault tho. They did a great job. That dog is in some serious need of training.
True dat
David Borneman I was thinking that too. I hope the owners take better care of her. Poor baby.
I agree to that
Honda BEAR that is not right it’s not the dogs fault it’s easily scared the owners need to take better care of her
Honda BEAR that is so mean
I love how you get the pet parents involved. They need to know how difficult this work is.
I’m so disgusted over this!
There are better options for grooming a dog like this who is completely traumatized!! This should absolutely never ever happen to any dog!
Good work!
ACC maybe you can ask the vet about xanax for groom visits and find a groomer willing to work with you as long as the dog is some what calm.
Tie your f***cking dog up and shave it's hair with a $20 razor. God people these days are such pansies.
Problem is the owner has had the dog since she (the human) was nine. She's 18 now. She didn't make the dog this way, but she's trying now.
Try CBD oil or straight out weed. They make CBD for pets but honestly I don't think weed would hurt anything. Just be sure there's nothing else mixed with it.
What a great groomer. She plans and directs her helpers how to hold the scared and nervous pup. Finally, they found a groomer who will not give up. ❤️
Princess has way too much power over this couple
She needs to be trained
But shout out to the groomer for handling this safely and professionally!!
Jasmine Tramack hi Rihana 👋
She’s scared! It’s not about control and power. It’s a traumatic experience for her that she wants to get away from.
singingstar56 thank you!!
No good.

From a dog behavior specialist to a very professional groomer: Thank you for being so awesome at what you do.
what type of training have you received?! behavior specialist in science based methods?
Nicole P silly ass question

Owners being afraid of their own dog is like Parents being afraid of their kids. It's a f up situation for everyone.
Notice that the parents sent the teen kids of the house?

Christine Cameron heh, yeah jack russels are pretty energetic. Imagine if a lazy person got a husky.

For those wondering why not sedate her:
- it is dangerous to sedate senior dogs
- it is dangerous to do grooming on even a mildly sedated dog because it's near impossible to tell signs of critical stress and medical emergencies
- usually for dogs like this we recommend a vet to groom them because they can sedate and groom

You
I love your determination! It’s so obvious that this little pup was suffering physically and emotionally. Kudos to you
It's always a "Princess."
"Man!" - Dede's catchphrase. 😂
Shaleece M or an angel lol
Shaleece M it really is mine absolutely hated going to groomer till we found one she fell in love with
Yep. Princess, Precious, Angel, Prince Charming... One of the best dogs I ever groomed was named Cujo. Happiest and sweetest little Lhasa ever!
I could think of a ton of names. Lol. Peaches, sweetie, most bellas exc
I think mine is rather unusual. Shae :)
Yeah me either. I'm 4 minutes in and I'm way too stressed to continue watching this.
@@lillyc7861 its worth it they get the job done and no one gets hurt. Shes very good wish she lived around me.
Same my service dog alerted to my anxiety a couple times now lol😂.
literally jumped and screamed!! We had a shitzu had the same temperament, but groomers got the job done. Precious lived until the ripe old age of 2o.
omg i knw! this is so hard to watch! they should have pet her and talked to her to comfort her! i thought maybe she is hurt and thats why she cries when she touches the legs. id wanna sedate her instead of this! lord...
my dog sony has been in my family for 10 years no one ever trained her or groomed her and didnt really care much about the dog. my dog was aggressive and would bite anyone if they pissed her off except me i was never educated about dogs and as i got older i started caring more and more for my dog sony . she would always let me shave her up to her butt area she would wanna bite. point of my story is the matts on her back legs got so bad from not letting me groom her that her skin opened up from all the hair being pulled. i took her to the vet and they sedated her so they could trim her I FELT HORRIBLE !!!!
Any dog that bites is a dog to be put down especially when it bites somebody outside the Family Circle that's put down time
Betsy Mota no animal should act like this it's obviously owners fault
I told her
' I found your twin".
Princess KNOWS she the boss at home. She needs training along with her owners. Stressful situation for all. Thanks for hanging in there and giving that doggy some much needed relief.
The dog needs to be sedated its calmer and safer for the dog, and less stress on the dog and for everyone else.
Its actually a lot of stress on the body. Can cause all kinds of complications, and not to mention very expensive.
Exactly 💯 %
Exactly
I agree
They also should of asked there vet for meds to calm the poor pup down.
Oh so stress or sedate an elderly dog even more often? Do you simply not care if they die or not?
Sedation is not the same as anesthesia, it isn't going to kill your dog. Stress like this will.
Sarah Coberly omg thank you. People are losing their minds.
Joyce Gilley N hhg
I also had a similar situation. I always did my own grooming, never had mats, etc., however, I decided she should go to a groomer once in a while. She was very fear aggressive with anyone else but me so we were turned away from several places. One day I took my poodle to be groomed by a private groomer I found and I had my Shih Tzu with me. I told the groomer that she could do the poodle but not the Shih Tzu. She immediately started working with her that day and it took her about six months to get the dog to accept her, the grooming, and calmness. Now, no troubles at all!
Joyce Gilley mild sedative?
@@gageholland5495 so s** Sherlock..
Jessica May this is the comment I wanted to write. Not sure how this ended up in my recommendations but I just subbed!
You are now one of our favorite groomers! Thanks for being so professional.
Dede, this was where you really shine imho. Teaching the pet parents, taking good care of the dog and getting the job done. It really doesn’t matter what happened in the past, just that going forward the keep bringing her back to you and they listen to you and do their homework. Great job all around. 👍🏼
I've never seen a groomer so great at there job. This lady deserves a gold medal.
why dont you give the woofie a sedatiive? would help hjm so much.
And a big tip$$ for the groomer and
Princess needs help...
Guess u haven't seen her video of her literally Ripping the ear hair out of the Inner Ear!!! Not necessary I was livid
Wish I was nearby to get my dog too
This has to be one of the most stressful jobs.
Yup lol my hands and arms are so scared up and I've only been grooming four years
Imagine grooming cats 😕
Actually it can be satisfying to help an animal :) Certain things would stress people out if they didn't love it but for me- I know helping an animal is actually quite fulfilling and not stressful most of the time
It can be stressful but it is also rewarding. I'm covered in scars from bites etc. But normally after a couple of times if the dog is like this one, it realizes I'm not going to hurt it. Gets better every time!
Emma Stiles they should get full benefits
What an absolutely kind, patient, non-judgmental, caring and knowledgeable professional! Glad owners didn't give up! ❤👏
Poor dog. Ours has been groomed so many times she literally naps on the table LOL. Hopefully this groomer can develop a relationship with this dog so it calms down.
Some groomers use mild sedatives to keep dog calm. I think that's horrible
i hated watching this. but you were very professional and did a great job. thank you for grooming her when nobody else would.
I love this idea!!
Except this dog doesn’t let anyone touch her legs or bottom half and paws 🤷🏻♀️
I laughed so hard. TMI lol. But still love that your doggy gets a brushing
TMI
So now we no your bowel movements are regular lol
Wow bless your heart for educating them and not giving up on her.
I've been grooming over 13 years there's this pill called ace you get it from your local vet it is kind of like a sedation pill but it doesn't knock them out or anything just helps relax them so grooming is safer for the pet and for the groomer an it helps to relax the dog and takes away some of the anxiety
Jennifer Mouton acepromazine can cause aggressive dogs to become more aggressive as it lowers inhibition.
I've used low does xanax n lavender balms. With the okay from the vet of course. I've only need it a few times. But you have to sometimes.
Wow, what an incredibly patient groomer.
All groomers should be this patient. If they arent they picked the wrong job
Kind of feel bad for princess, however when someone made the comment of princess being Satan with a crown, that was funny!!!😆 😂🤣

im a groomer in the netherlands and i realy love your approach and how you handle this dog. i also do agrassive/scared dogs thats my speciality besides terriers. the owners are also fantastic! they realy stay calm and i know thats difficult! this dog will get there im sure. keep up the good work!
@@silverweb7795 p.s. your dog is adorable! 😍😍
That looks like a whole lot of fear. They can give anxiety meds to the dog to help calm them down. Our former stray cat gets those for vet visits and it makes it much less traumatic.
People come to me to have someone try to avoid meds.
Check first with your groomer. Some won't take in your dog if given anything like that.
Really thick welders gloves? And motorcycle helmets all around. Maybe motorcycle insurance as well.

I know the owner got the dog when she was young, but her parents should have made sure the dog was taken care of properly.
agreed! This is a dog who hates grooming or was abused during her grooming BEFORE the current owner got her...
If you couldn't tolerate this, then I hope you would never avoid grooming your dog for so long that it would get to this point.
My thoughts exactly…
this breaks my heart, the owners love that dog so much, it must be hard to see the dog so uncomfortable. but everyone did a really great job
If the owner loved that dog soooo mouch they wouldn't have let it get that knotted up, dirty and just not taken care of properly!
Yup, this is how my dog acts, she even foams at the mouth... I started grooming her myself because nothing seems to calm her, and she stays calm with me. But at the groomers? It's a whole different story.
Doggie cannabis edibles!!
My dog is the opposite, she will protest if I try to bather her but she’s a little angel at the groomers
Dogs, man. Mine is the opposite! Ass***e for me, absolute angel for the pros
Courteney girllll I can relate but my dog even can lack patience with me... I bought her tail a muzzle 🤦🏾♀️
What an amazing groomer. This dog is lucky that her owners found you. You’ll teach them I’m sure and this dog will be alright.
Thank you! th-cam.com/users/myfavoritegroomerplaylists?view_as=subscriber
I found myself talking to the screen: "It's okay honey. This has to be done, it's good for you. I'm sorry. It's okay. It's okay!"
12nunchaku aww lol
12nunchaku awww... same here.
She made me jump a couple of times and I almost dropped my phone...😂😂😂
oh dear... you do realise that talking like that to a dog will only convince it that it must be a terrible thing?
RHDS I’m sorry for your loss ... I have 3 babies myself and in terrified of losing them

All praises to the groomer. This is very traumatic to the poor doggie. This doggie should be sedated with a mild sedative and ease her into grooming. I'm sure she must have suffered some trauma of some sort in the past. Also she need training by a good dog trainer. But all praises to the groomer.......She is good and so patient and brave.
absolutely, listen to what the pet parent says.
I asked my vet for some sedatives for my nutty dog she freaks out with loud unexpected noises like probably most dogs she just takes it to another level. Nothing wrong with drugging the dog for something traumatic or extremely stressful to them.
Sedation teaches nothing. It erases the experience and so gives nothing but a haircut to the dog. This groomer did what was best for the dog.
I agree
You took the words out my keyboard... 😁😁
She now realizes that throwing a fit --they don 't quit the clipping. She'll will get better & better with every grooming.
I disagree, why did they not go to the Vet and get something to calm the dog?
How would you like to be restrained and forced to have a haircut
Plz listen again to how the groomer explained why not to do that.
