George was the quiet Beatle. He sure could play a guitar. He was ahead of his time. My Anita who died some time ago met all four Beatles a few times said that they were always very nice. Always laughing and smiling. They are the "G.O.A.T"!

This song came on the radio shortly after my mom passed recently. I'm so thankful for george harrison and the beatles for helping express how I feel. This song feels like a warm hug from my mama

George had so much grace. I never had the privilege to get to see him but I miss him like a kin. His influence on me is monumental. It's so adorable to see Eric alongside George. Eric said in his interview in 2024 on The Real Music Observer that he still misses George. Not that the real fans weren't aware of it! Give us all PEACE, LOVE & LIGHT because we need them today more than ever.
Fortunately for all of us, Eric persuaded George to do this 12 night tour of Japan in late 91. That's actually Andy Fairweather Low playing slide to George's right. Eric is behind George in the dark playing acoustic.
Yet another reason to elevate your respect for this amazing man. In my day he was the "quiet Beatle." The one we kind of ignored. But in the years that passed he became incredibly important. John and Paul ignored him for too long, never really gave him the respect he was due. He was at the level of all four Beatles, the best band of the 20th century, for a long time. But long may their musical contribution be treasured. They all, George, Paul, John and Ringo were a once-in-a-lifetime experience that I wish all future generations will experience.

Probably the greatest Solo Beatle. Paul may have the commercial success but George is the one who made the music stick. He just came out swinging and decided that hey, I was always there but I had to contend with the powerhouses. Definitely the undisputed King of Quiet.
John was the greatest solo Beatle with his classic work on “Plastic Ono Band”, “Imagine” and “Double Fantasy” albums but George was a close second with “All Things Must Pass”, “Living in the Material World” and “Cloud 9”

George Harrison was my favorite Beatle. When my aunt was dying of cancer I was inconsolable. I would listen to George's solo work and it was soothing to me and got me through a very difficult time.
my brother was dying of cancer 10 years ago and I would play ATMP album and pray and cry. George’s music helped get me through it, that and my faith in God. RIP George and my brother Ben

Many years ago I dreamed with George sitting in a chair and playing an electric guitar unplugged, as if rehearsing. I went over and I do not remember what I said and he smiled and said "just show yourself the way you are" and lowered his head and continued playing the guitar.
Donna Simms I saw George in concert just once, on his only full U.S. tour in 1974, in support of his “Dark Horse” LP. “Dark Horse” was the name of the tour. His voice was hoarse on the album, and sounded much more hoarse during the show. He must’ve been in pain. It was disappointing at the time, and rock critics were very unkind, but nobody knew then it was to be George’s only U.S. solo tour. Thankfully, George got his voice back after the tour. I am so glad I went to that concert! I love George.

Donna Simms I saw George in concert just once, on his only full U.S. tour in 1974, in support of his “Dark Horse” LP. “Dark Horse” was the name of the tour. His voice was hoarse on the album, and sounded much more hoarse during the show. He must’ve been in pain. It was disappointing at the time, and rock critics were very unkind, but nobody knew then it was to be George’s only U.S. solo tour. Thankfully, George got his voice back after the tour. I am so glad I went to that concert! I love George.
@@justintime42000 I saw him at The Albert Hall in London when he did a concert to promote the Natural Law Party in 1991. When he came onstage and kicked off with I Want To Tell You which was greeted by really loud applause, he said "I must be paranoid, I didn't think anyone liked me." The concert was great and he was brilliant; a brilliant musician and the most accomplished and gifted slide-guitarist ever.

@@ryan0150George was famously the “spiritual Beatle”. Having been slipped LSD at a dinner party, he and the rest of the band enjoyed expanding their minds using it. George stated that while on a trip, the thought “the yogis of the Himalayas” kept coming to him. Apparently the band were handed a book on reincarnation which also sparked an interest. After meeting Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, the Beatles famously travelled to Rishikesh to study meditation. George really embraced it. A lot of his songs are George expressing himself to his God, including this one - “keep me free from birth” meaning to achieve Moksha: liberation from the reincarnation cycle.
Through being such a beloved celebrity figure and through the content of his incredible songs, George definitely had an important role in spreading spirituality.

@@ChrisHayworth100 Peter Frampton says he helped George double harmony guitars on All Thing Must Pass, and specifically on the first single, which I THINK was My Sweet Lord (though he could be mistaken, it could be What Is Life he's thinking of). So it may not be Clapton.

George Harrison had a subtle, quiet and gentle personality that makes him a special person, even the way he sung. He's got a kookie side of being funny. I liked all the songs he sung and composed. My favorite Beatle ever since Iam a teener.
