George was always my favourite Beatle when I was growing up in the sixties. I have never changed my mind. He is truly missed, God got the best.
Yeah. And my dear John also.
Mine too! A child of the 60s as well.
George was/is my favorite, too. Was a young teenager when Beatlemania began.
I don’t understand how people can put a finger down to this amazing song
It’s unthinkable
How about,
they are stupid.
Jim Grice Yes you’re right too much stupidity
Just jerks
Don't look at "Thumbs Down". Look at the percentage thumbs up to thumbs down. Here...let me calculate it for you since I graduated high school... 0.0089% of total viewers gave this a thumbs down. That is...fewer than 1 in 100 gave this a thumbs down. That's like 15 thumbs down for every 1500 thumbs up (which ain't too shabby). (Keep in mind how many morons voted for Hillary in the 2016 primary knowing that would give all of us Trump!) And never forget that Intelligence is a bell-shaped curve with 100 as the mean ....AND you have NO IDEA how STUPID a 100 IQ is. Ahem...i.e. not needing state assistance but NOT VERY GODDAMN BRIGHT!! That is to say - they are "More to be pitied than scorned." AND...we are doomed.
Who puts it down? Noone as I could see.
One of George's greatest song And Paul was a perfect addition
CELEBRATE George and his beautiful songwriting with HERE COMES THE SUN ... 2024 hang on to your hats, take care, People!!
Here Comes the Sun -- the new anthem of surviving coronavirus and leaving the hospital.

Bruce Springsteen
George Harrison was my favorite Beatle ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥I love this song 🎵
Hi Pat💐💐
One of the best acoustic duets ever recorded on film.
Pure vocals, pure playing, pure songs.x
George was the soul of the Beatles. Listen to how easily he fits in that middle harmony. All of them were brilliant, but George held it together. BTW: Imagine if Paul Simon and George Harrison wrote and made an album together!!
Call it Here Comes Mrs. Robinson.
John was the Soul of the Beatles.
George was the Sweet Necar that held it together. George was Beatles Secert Weapon .
All lFOUR were the "soul" of the Beatles. THATS why they were the Beatles.
How I wish that album had happened. It just flowed like a geyser from these two!
Love these two great songwriters.
Sublime! It's too bad the visuals are so blurry, but the music is stunning. I miss George!
This is feeding my soul on this gloomy morning!
Hi Mary💐💐
to this day,George's song "Here Comes the Sun" is the highest selling BEATLE song of all time
wrong...completely wrong...ignorance trumps truth yet again...
One of the greatest moments in music that ever happened. I can't experience this without tears. Of joy. And gratitude.
me too
Same
yep same here
I agree. Was lucky enough to see it live on tv that night
yep... genuine talent and virtuosity will do that to ya every time. as juma put it, "music of true expression."
I love Paul’s face when George does that solo at the end. He’s like..oooo damn.
well, a one bar riff doesn't really qualify as a solo. just sayin...
On a 12-string, no less.
are you counting both guitars? 'cause i see only six tuning machines and six bridge pins on each guitar. i think you need a new Rx for your glasses. AND your ears.
John Michael The film is kinda blurry, so I was going more by the sound. Oh well, at least glasses can help my vision. There’s probably nothing that can be done about you being a rude person.
Jenny & Craig - you think that was rude? SMH. another PC snowflake heard from. at worst, my comment was MILDLY sarcastic. here's a tip: if you're too fragile to handle being called out for making an idiotic statement on a public forum, STOP MAKING THEM. what would you have us all do? permit FALSE statements to continue to circulate just because some shrinking violet might wither under scrutiny? alas, there's probably nothing that can be done about you being a stupid libtard.
Pure beauty. Two great musicians and, especially, kind men. Love.
Never knew that George & Paul got an opportunity to play together! Boy do they sound sweet together ❤️
a dream gig would be a Beatles show with Simon & Garfunkel in the background adding vocals
Magnificent!!!
I saw this on SNL when it happened. I was so thrilled & happy.
Now all these years later, i finally see this again & i feel the same happy way again!
It was wonderful to be a kid when these great artists were around playing great music. This was amazing.
☮️💟
I remember watching it live too. SNL was must-watch TV back then. Cheers!
What great memories I miss them
Do you remember what year it was?
@@tove8719 aired November 20, 1976. Memorable.
Saw it
Beautiful. There is nothing even close to that these days
"Here Comes the Sun" is such a truly beautiful song. Homeward Bound is so poetic. I think George and Paul wrote from the same place in their souls.
It was the summer of 1970 when this song came out in the States. I was living in Berkeley CA, better known as Beserk-ly back then. We would gather on our flat rooftop four stories up with a killer view of San Francisco beyond and crank out Here Comes The Sun. Ah, thank you George for your genius. Peace on the world, please.
So absolutely amazing, Paul Simon and George Harrison definitely should have done more together. Absolutely flawless singing and guitar playing by both.
He should have been a Wilbury
George was always horribly underrated as an acoustic guitarist. Paul Simon is a master of the instrument.
Their blend is perfect. Beautiful .
Everyone, no matter what we are all going through now, we will see the sun in our world again. Keep the faith!!!
Absolutely beautiful. The sun rising is such a positive force in this world of viral chaos. Thankyou George. You became an intricate part of the universe far too soon.
@Samantha Jane I am so sorry to hear that God bless prayers for you!
Pray to St Gerard Majella
patricia gilna praying to God through Jesus Christ is the answer..
Tell that to the families of the 260,000 (and counting) Americans that have died to the coronavirus
From a SNL episode. Notice George is strumming while Paul is finger picking. Great combo. Two of our generation’s greatest musicians.
one of my favorite performances of all time; I remember seeing this on the original SNL broadcast; 2 of the best harmony singers ever, they sound great together; I love how they obviously respect each other’s song; I love the way Paul’s unique fingerpicking compliments Here Comes The Sun & George’s classy reminder to all that he was The Beatles lead guitarist there at the end of Homeward Bound
This is iconic. Timeless artists, what a cool colaboration. Hearing George Harrison sing Homeward Bound with his gentle and melifluous voice is so poetically heartening and brilliant. I love this

I remember watching this on TV when it aired for the very first time "Live", and thinking it was the greatest musical moment in TV history, save for The Beatles debut itself on Ed Sullivan. Now 44 years later, I realize that I was correct.
I saw it also in its original. I was 9 years old! Was amazing!
a Beatle singing Paul Simon's song was always my wet dream and here it goes
I think I was 15? The music on early SNL was amazing every single week. This was special. Everyone at school was talking about it on Monday
Elvis Presley on the ed Sullivan show or buddy holly on the show were great moments in time
This was the most poignant moment ever on SNL. It hit me deeply at its original airing, and I’m so glad it has been preserved
Carrie Fischer was still Crazy After All These Years, but Paul loved her just the same. Thank you for that Paul. We miss her.
I've watched this video at least 20 times over the years and it never fails to bring a tear to my eye, RIP George and Paul, keep on keeping' on!
And I just loved both their albums when they came out in May 1973. Just imagine combining them, Kodacrome followed by Who can see it, and so on...
Simon isn’t dead…
@@timprescott4634 If Paul was dead he couldn't "keep on keeping on" lol.
This vocal harmonizing is like rubbing silk against silk. It's fucking amazing.
George's music is some of the most beautiful ever written. Timeless. Great for sad times and the happiest of days❤
Remember watching this as a kid live on Saturday Night allowed to stay up late because we had guests. Unforgettable...
Its great to see Paul and George together
How lucky was I to be part of this generation that created all this wonderful music.
Lucky you! Love from Sweden!
Okay boomer
@@saturnlights5239 you’re just jealous🤨😆😹
@@chloekey8043 No I'm not, I'm just sick of that statement it's so overused. Like who cares, we should enjoy music from all generations. And how am I jealous? I can easily search up songs from that era and have the same experience as you guys.
@@saturnlights5239 says the person who watches anime
Two of the finest musicians/songwriters of our time. Together. How great is this?
Doug Chisam Wait till you hear of The Beatles
Wow the beatles? Never heard of them???
Wow!!! Perfect harmony, blending and guitar playing. These could be the best live versions of their hit classic songs. Didn’t realize that George and Paul collaborated in the 70s. Truly touching performance!!!❤️
Amazing video of two of the greatest musicians, singers and songwriters of the classic rock era. The “best” ever SNL musical segmen.
I think I was such a McCartney fan I never really realized what a nice voice George had. Gorgeous.
Well, I’m not into the Beatles, but I’m surprised how good his singing voice is. This only thing I remember about him, is his death. I’m glad I can watch on him on TH-cam and listen to his singing.
He was a beautiful human..the world misses him..
Wow, how can someone not be into the Beatles? they created so much incredible music! 50 years from now, they will be looked at the way many people look at artists like Beethoven, Bach, Brahms & those artists from many years ago! Thank You John, Paul & George for the amazing music you wrote as the Beatles & after the Beatles!
Yes this performance shows how great George's voice can be. It would've been nice if this was incorporated more into the Beatle's catalogue. With Lennon and McCartney, I can see why George was overlooked, but their catalogue would have been improved if they exploited George's abilities more.
All four of them were... well, fab. It was the perfect melding of talents.
And George and Other Paul work beautifully together here. I never tire of this video.
A delightful 6 minute sanctuary from the daily turmoil.
George is in another league, AND I love Paul Simon. Well now that I hear Paul, he is right there with him. Outstanding duo!
WOW !....... I remember seeing this back in the '70's....It's a thousand times more powerful now.....
1977!!! I never forgot
Two Great Men Achieving Brilliance,
Such Decency For Others, Hat’s Off! ❤
I love this performance and I have always believed that they chose which one of the other's song that would be played. Paul choosing Here Come the Sun and George picking Homeward Bound.
I also love the little guitar flourishes that George adds to Paul's very somber and moving tune.
I so needed to rest my mine for a minute, and go back to relaxing.thank you ,🍀
