If I heard the "Are you serious?" I would have stopped covering for her, and told the lady that was a white lie to try to save her.
For a change a nice diner.this shows us we should never be greedy
At my old job at a restaurant policy says servers need to take 100% of their tips and I wasn't a server so I didn't get any tips but that policy was put in place so the wait staff can make ends meet so not all restaurants work like this but I still love the message about how greed is never the answer and if you are too greedy someday it can destroy you

Being stiffed in tips is one thing, this was greed being played out by Jessie when everyone should have it equally. Manager will find out soon, this is going to be trouble for her!!!!
The moral of the story is; even tips are good for those who needed it, but it's not okay to steal tips from the other associates who might actually need it. And especially to lie to them about it. Be generous
And also, if the customer discovered he was covering for her, he would've gone down with her.
It was nice that the guy defended the thief. I'm hoping that it was because he knew she could be trusted to buy the things he asked for and she was really deep down a good person.

I think it was implied that she doesn't usually go around stealing tips, it was a one time out of character impulsive thing. I would have forgiven her too, she deserved a second chance. I definitely wouldn't have forgiven a SECOND mess up like this however.

I always tip its not much but I give what I can. I always give the pizza delivery person $3.00 and they call me the $3.00 lady and tell me some people don't give them anything.
I have a grocery delivery service and I tip $10 because they have to come up with all those groceries to my apartment.

We often focus on the obvious (the greed, the lie), but I'd like to commend the response of the guy. Although wronged, he was able to cover her wrong, then confronting her privately, making for a far greater impact! This wasn't about her losing her job because of her actions, but her character. Anyone of us can fall to the selfish temptation of greed, although we may never admit it as long as we don't get caught.

Right. The friend showed mercy because he thought she deserved it, rather than wanting to see her punished for her wrong.
@@TheRivrPrncessI think it was because it was implied that Jessie wasn't usually a thief and didn't usually steal tips. She had an out of character moment of weakness. I would have forgiven her too. I definitely wouldn't have forgiven a SECOND mess up however.

no way in hell id work in a place where you have to share tips... cause im not going to work my butt off while someone else is lazy and doesnt do their job and i have to split with them

Actually a lot of restaurants do require it.. mainly to have the hostess get 20% while the waiter get the 80%

Yes what she done stealing the tips was wrong the employer is also a thief for not paying a decent wage to live on. I grew up in the state of Nevada and waiting staff earns normally $10.00 - $15.00 an hour plus their tips it's very common for waiters/waitresses to earn over $1,000 a week . But since I have moved to Arkansas I have found out wait staff usually only make $2.25 an hour plus tip not only that most restaurants don't hire full time wait staff cause if they do they would need to provide health insurance . I refuse to eat out here in Arkansas do to the fact of restaurant slavery sponsored by the state . I'd advise people to investigate their state to see if they are sponsoring restaurant slavery and try to change the law of tipping credits and part time health insurance policies

It was strongly implied that Jessie has NEVER stolen from her fellow Coworkers before and this was a first time impulsive decision she made and felt regret about doing it, especially since he stood up for her after the Customer planned to have her fired. It was strongly implied she'd never pull this stunt again.

The waiter should not have mentioned the dollar amount, its poor taste and should have said yes and thank you for the tip. Secondly the customer is rude for bringing up leaving a tip the night before. Its a new day move on.
As long as it's under the business roof, any money given under that roof is under the business rules, especially when the customer intended it be split. And the customer also don't make business rules to begin with. And it's also about equality for work. If they are just the waiter, then they did not buy the items needed to cook, cook items or even maintain the parts that they cook with. They didn't even clean likely, they probably were busy with just the waiting, which means other people did those things, so even generosity of a customer should be intent on everyone who made it great, not one person who did just one thing.

She specifically said to split the tip was her business in a way but next time should give the tip to the other person her self to be sure they both get it
@@fluffykitten992 yeah but like, she was really peeved and wanted Jessie fired over it, and even asked for the manager. I'd just let it go but never go back to that restaurant again. Karen had to make a huge scene over it.
@@heatherrussell8255 rightfully so she wanted to make sure the boy waitress got his share of the generous tip as well she technically stole from the other worker and was dishonest no employer would want someone who did that working there because next they might steal from the restaurant luck she got a second chance and he forgave her and didn’t want her getting in trouble over it .
