Tom, I have been in this hobby for 65 years and, as you know, was partners with Tom Johnson for over 20 years, and have looked at and bought hundreds of collections and this is the first Railways Water Protection i have seen that is a "one looker". What an impressive piece! Thank you for showing it to us.
wow what a dagger and sword and blade show this was. big education for all for sure. thanks for sharing. you should keep that last dagger in your collection.
Great video, well done Ob I know how hard it is to achieve anything with the man flu, I’ve got it as well. I love how Tom will put his drink anywhere but on the coaster 😂😂😂
DTC tshirts and Bob Burns cutter, what incredible items. Keep up the great videos fellas. Always inspiring my channel and collecting here in Mexico City.
The closing dagger is incredible! Maybe on the next video you could briefly explain how it surfaced or how it was liberated 🙏 it’s just such an amazing piece you want to know more. Peace
That last dagger is such a beautiful rare example; for this one dagger, could you tell us what it is worth?? I know this much; that piece is going in Tom’s personal collection!
Great show boys! Obby, get better! Have Chrissy make you some tea. 😉 Greetings to John & Debby too. PS, I need one of those t-shirts! And that engraved SA too please!🤯👍👍👍. Best greetings from Deutschland, Johnny V.
I think the Hoster cross guard looks different than the Alcoso-The Hoster wings do not seem as bulky as the Alcoso eventhough their engraving look very similar. I king of like the look of The Hoster piece over The Alcoso; but this also could be distortion from the video.
Dear Ob, You need a good hot toddy: 50ml Whisky Teaspoon of honey Teaspoon of lemon juice 500ml paracetamol 30mg Codeine or other opiate of preference 240ml boiling water 👍
Cool tshirts! Wait, where is the swaz?? .......... KIDDING ......... Nice to see you get some merch Wittmann. BTW, a few years ago, I saw a German WW2 gravity knife in the shape of a small box opener. It was small and very cool looking. I wish you would get some of those into your store Wittman with your branding on them.
Toye Kenning and Spencer since 1685 . Insignia and regalia . Jewelry , ceremonial, rewards and Bespoke Object D’art. Rather impressive history in Insignia and regalia since yes 1685 .. ⚔️🗡️🎖️
That WW1 "trench knife" was also manufactured in 1917 as well. I've read that the 1918 version suffered from an adnormally high amount of broken blades as reported by soldiers these trench knives were issued to. Actually, both versions had issues with blades easily being broken. It's a rare piece none the less and I've seen those go for $1300 - $1400 range if not more. There should be markings on the knife, A.C. Co. or L.F. & C. For the record, A.C. Co. is the rarer of the marks. The scabbard might have marks such as H.E. / M.S. / JEWELL - 1918? I am not sure but I do believe that "triangle" blade is now illegal to use. Not 100% sure about that. I could be totally wrong. The documentary I watched on these trench weapons that a triangle blade causes a very difficult wound to treat. Wittman, that trench knife is going to sell VERY QUICKLY. A little back story on the 1917 version is that it was the 1st offically US adapted knife, but proved to be unsatisfactory in service, so a second version was quickly designed and issued and that being the 1918 version. Both models are identical other than, the design / construction of the knuckle guard being different between the models. There are two gems in your video today and thats those engraved crossguards, and secondaly, that WW1 1918 trench knife. Those are indeed RARE.
When describing a dagger, go with 'beautiful', instead of 'pretty. When you say 'pretty' we think you have changed the subject matter, dagger, to your wifes appearance 😅
Fact about getting the common cold / flu or worse, is that it mostly comes from touching something and then rubbing your eyes, eating with your hands, touching your mouth. I was married to an RN for a handful of years. Always always carry a small bottle of hand sanatizer in your pocket and when you open a public door, before you eat out, pump gas, use an ATM, pay for something where you swipe your card, you NEED ... NEED to sanatize your hands afterwards. This will save many of you from getting sick. Many people practize social distancing now, especially when someone is sneezing, blowing their nose, coughing, etc.
Can they put the graphics on the BACK of the T-shirt, instead of the front? Better to show off to the person behind you while in line waiting to be robbed at the grocery store, ha, ha. Thank you, President Biden, very much!

Much appreciated

I don’t 😂
That may end my subscription lol
The first marking on the tropical belt is the Reichsbetriebs number. This system was used in lieu of the RZM markings starting in 1943.

I’d really like to see a “hobby journal” episode on DRK daggers/hewers!

There is a Brit here heading out to the Max show in September, hope to you there Tom....
He will be there! Honestly he'd probably be there in a coffin if the unthinkable happens.
The dagger 1:31:38 is not Croatian, its Hungarian maritime dagger.
What a dagger and hanger’s WOW!
