Thas the way we do it down south, this pl paw paw is running behind too just had a triple bypass a month ago ol dr dont want me shootin but im gonna get out with my 223 or 22 250 and squeeze one in here in NC before the season closes enjoyed the video👍👍
Pawpaw Waddell is one of a kind. Love seeing him in the video, hope he's doing well... Can't wait to try the fried deer cube steak. Hopefully I get one this year.
Thank you Michael and Dad and Bone Collector and ExMark for messing with my old raising delight! You made me remember many times (usually a nice camp meat doe) that Dad would take opening day to have ready for opening full week camp to enjoy mostly fried just the same way. Many times I've taken a couple of his homemade breakfast biscuits wrapped over fried deer backsrtaps in my pocket to the blind in order to get the Doe's Dad or hopefully Monster Deer Granddad! What a heritage we hunters have and enjoy! I really enjoy this cooking part of you! Keep it up Waddell. God Speed!😂
Been eating my deer meat like that all my life. I'm 65 years old and still hunting. Just harder to find the deer now days. So expressive! Have a blessed day!!!!
Man your Dad hasn’t changed. I met him at Jim and Pam house. You were just getting started with Bone Collector. Very down to earth man 👍👍. Apple didn’t fall far from the tree. Great video on some good eating. Look forward to the next 🦌
Somebody showed me years ago you can also use the edge of a can of vegetables to cube out some deer meat. This is my favorite way to cook it. You can also use plastic grocery bags tripled up so the flour doesn’t leak out.
Waddy,I am 70 and hunt rabbit deer and turkey.I am a country boy from Pa.and I have hunted my whole life.I will keep going as long as the good Lord lets me.I am running beagles and archery hunting.HAPPY HUNTING.STAY SAFE OUT THERE
Love the simple recipe. I always cube and fry the backstraps. All I use is flour, pepper and 2 packs of lipton recipe secrets. Give the lipton a try if you have never used it.
I grew up poor but we didn’t know it we would take fried potato sandwiches with us to the woods Always had squirrel, rabbit, and an old deer every now and then. And dang we were happy. Now we got more than we ever had and working our self’s to death to keep it.
Man I’ve been watching you since I was very young. Real tree, monster bucks, then bone collector. I love to slice up back strap and cook very simple in a cast pan, unsalted butter fresh garlic little black pepper, finished with a light sprinkle of garlic salt on my plate. How ever I do love chicken fried steak! I will try this. Cheers
This looks awesome, thanks for sharing! Never thought to cube backstrap meat. My parents love when I make country fried steak for them, I think I’ll try this next time with this year’s buck
THIS WEEK ON WADDELL IN THE KITCHEN...LoL man that is so good my favorite way to eat deer meat I also like to put it in chili and spaghetti we also mix it with Italian sausage and make lasagna with it 👍👍
My grandma made tomato gravy!! I don't know anyone that's ever had that. You could put that on dirt clods and eat it. That brings back great memories! Thank you!!
I make mine with onions peppers and cream soup. Season, brown them up throw them in a crock pot. Put soup in. Turn on crock pot walk away and let it cook. Come back at supper time and chow down.
I am with you on eating whatever cut you want, how you want. as long as it gets eaten and you are loving it... what difference does it make on how it is cooked. My dad gave me a t-bone once and I wasn't in the mood for steak. so we ground it and had some of the best burger I've ever eaten. it didn't go to waste and I enjoyed it. isn't that the end goal? thanks for this vid. I have some backstraps left and this is going to be how I try it next.
Michael try a egg and milk wash before putting your meat in the flour. I always double dip mine. Wash/flour wash/flower/fry! Try it. You will be very happy you did!
This video came just in time, I need to eat my older stock in the freezer to make room for this years meat. I have saved the back straps for last .This will be sooo good ,Thank You!
Hey man I met you a few times down in Panama City when I lived there , my name is Daniel Waddell and I moved up to Monroe Georgia last yr. Got my first Ga Buck this yr and it felt like I was getting back to my roots as a Waddell , its just in our Bones
You was naming off all those gravies- have you ever made catfish gravy? Using the oil from frying the fish. Killer stuff boy. God Bless and Good Huntn.🦌🇺🇸
Looking good, bro. I do the same thing, except I brush mine down in a little wash your sister sauce before I batter them jokers. The batter sticks a little better and something about wash your sister sauce and red meat. Happy hunting, man
Couple of fried eggs, grits, deer cube steak, biscuits and some red eye gravy or some good ole cane molasses and we ready. Good luck this year everyone!
all that shaking is a workout too.....breathing a little hard Waddy 😀 burning calories before eating calories. backstrap from a whitetail can be kinda tough. I cube all of my backstraps and fry or grill them......or make a cube steak popper
It looks amazing but my personal favorite is season the backstrap wrap it in bacon. Put it on the smoker low and slow til its almost to temp take it off crank up the heat throw it back on to crisp up the bacon then rest for 10 minutes.
I have done plenty that way myself but depending on the meat sometimes i might beat up an egg, roll it in that and then the flour to make it stick better. Also, you can start over with egg then flour again to double bread it. You boys are doing good though and i'd sure eat it. I do have one complaint though; you say you can't be from the south and be afraid of grease. That's true but man where is your fried taters? lol Be safe and happy hunting y'all!
Hey Michael, soak your deer and ice water for two days and drain the bloody water off and put more ice water and every morning and every night you’ll be surprised what the deer meat taste like. It is outstanding. The blood in the meat is what gives off the gamy taste, you get the blood out you cannot tell it from beef.
That is my favorite reply ever, thanks BoneCollector! I wouldn't trade a big buck for all y'all's hard work.. I love hunting whitetail deer and cooking, never heard of tomato gravy, boys y'all opened my eyes. I got to get that recipe. Sounds great!!!
