Newsome 96%, DeSantis 4%. So. .. to say a tie?! Or blame Newsome for CA’s small businesses sluggishness is crazy. When It takes on average 4 to 5 years after legislation’s passed to begin to feel economic changes. Specifically infrastructure packages. So to say Republicans, “Trump’s great economy” is crock. When Trump was rode on coattails of Obama’s administration. Or, “Businesses aren’t doing great”, when it was consumers who turned to internet for online shopping that impacted Americas brick & mortar businesses in our communities! So to blame Newsome is also a joke!
Because, If we want our cities to thrive we must support local small businesses, raise minimum wage to reflect local economies, and break-up monopolies, by boycotting big CoRP’s [ie Musk ($251 Billion), Bezo’s ($150 Billion), Zuckerberg ($109 Billion), Gates ($108 Billion), Trump ($700 Million, after plunge) in net worth] because that opens up competition. No thanks to Trumps tax breaks for the rich who already don’t pay taxes back into our tax system -Although, 1% elites enjoy our taxpayer funded infrastructure. Monopolies who forget that without us (ie the consumers), there is no them! Like an episode of ‘the twilight show’ gone in a split second. So to give Republicans credit where credit is not due to justify ‘Trickle down’ is hogwash!

CA resident here too. It was all part of the plan to get rid of small businesses and give more profits to their corporate donors who were allowed to stay open. While collecting PPP as well.
The small businesses took a hit and many did close down, but not as many as they wanted.
So now, they’re hoping $22 an hour will make them shut down for good and the mega corporations who can afford automation will still thrive

But they don’t realize that their policies are designed to control blacks and Hispanics as they make the true equalizer out of their reach: attaining wealth. I think it’s by design as they know owning real estate and owning a business will make them bosses, CEOs and landlords. They don’t want that, so they create measures to ensure they can’t buy homes or operate a business.

While we absolutely love our small community, friends, and church, we just took the plunge and bought a house in Idaho. It was a really hard decision but I had to come to the conclusion that with permanent mail in balloting (implemented immediately after 2020), we won’t be able to vote our way out of this. The honest truth is that socialism leads to immense suffering and poverty so the long term is bleak for the next generation. I’m gonna work really hard to keep Idaho red because I’ve seen the disaster that left wing policies bring. Hope you and your family can get out as well.

I live in Los Angeles and specifically in Santa Monica. I’m a county firefighter here Marina del Rey. In the past 5-6 years, I can’t believe the downward spiral my beautiful state has had to endure because the Ill informed voter has continued to put men and women in positions that penalize the hard working, law abiding citizen, and helps the criminal element that is closing stores, locking up simple products like tooth paste, and laundry detergent. What world are we living in when the community allows someone to enter a store, steal 1000 dollars worth of products and is not arrested or held accountable for the choices they are making. The homeless are treated like royalty and us, the hard working providers to our communities are given the bill. We all ask each other how. How does this continue to be okay. Who are the people who think that the criminals and the takers of society should be given a pass? I’ll tell you who because I see them every day. I go into the homes of little old ladies who are shut ins. Their 65 year old son lives with them and hardly leaves the house. They have cnn on loop during the day and believe everything that the magic box is telling them. Those are the people who vote for Gavin newsome. Because he pays them to stay home and not have to work. He allows them to live rent free and take from others. They keep the border open hoping to add to their voter base. We are losing our country and if we don’t as a nation stop what is turning into a train wreck, we will lose our way of life as we know it. Our civilization is on the brink of collapse. I can’t move. All my family lives in SoCal. Where am I going to go. I’m stuck here. I will just continue to vote. Vote for those who honor the hard working American instead of stealing from them

Fact checks like this should be mandatory for all mayors governor’s and presidents and streamed on cable TV and local channels in prime time for everyone to see or be just as important and big as the debates. Hold them accountable and they will be forced to lie a lot less

I once worked for a school where the Principal told the district we did not have one expulsion or suspension. That did not mean we did not have serious behavior issues, she just refused to deal with them. Same with Newsome, if you don't arrest anyone for crime, there is no crime.

Like what because I lived here all of my life, first full families don't use Uhauls, so that an over-exaggeration. Poor people and college student use Uhauls. Uhaul is not replenishing their trucks at the end of their life and accidents. They are moving over to the pods. Its has less overhead and provides a better bottom line. Uhaul is hurting financially. "Running out' of trucks would mean that their business final line would be up and profitable. People moved because of low interest rates and wanted to buy homes. None went to Florida. Florida is the ghetto and dangerous to live there.
@BuckleBunny My uncle had a carpet installation business and sold his half to his partner. They moved to Tennessee, a full family, with a Uhaul and a trailer. My wife's sister moved to Washington state with her husband and 5 kids with a Uhaul. I've never lived in Florida. I've been there twice. I've seen Orlando, which has some good and bad neighborhoods. I've seen Fort Piece, which was pretty nice. I've seen Deland, which is a dumpsterfire. There's goods and bads everywhere. I wouldn't know how to judge it, though, as a whole state based on what I see on TV. I've been to just about every corner of California and spent a good amount of time in both the far north, Bay Area, Central Valley, and LA and San Diego. I knew what this place was and its mentality back in the 80s, 90s, and up to the present. I know why people are moving, and I've seen firsthand the reasons people move and what they're using to move. Again, I say there are no exaggerations here.

I am a solid conservative who is, for now, stuck in this sh*thole of a state. Along with other like-minded CA residents, I voted for one of the Republican candidates in the election to recall Newsom. I voted for Kevin Kiley btw. Unfortunately, with there having been several Republican candidates on that ballot, and us conservatives being outnumbered in this state, Newsom was able to remain in office. And he continues to make things even worse here. I've lived in CA for 45 years and the past several years literally feel like a big flush down the toilet. It is unbelievably bad. Especially if you're middle class, hold down a job, pay your taxes, and are a law-abiding citizen. If that criteria applies to you, then CA "rewards" you and your family by giving you a crappy quality of life.

In 2008, CNN Money Magazine named La Mirada CA (my wonderful hometown 💕) 24th among "Best Places to Live". I had to move yr. after Newsom's election but was shocked when I went by early this yr: homeless tents, my former neighborhood run down, even my beautiful boyhood house in bad shape. This is a miniature picture of CA under the rule of Gruesome Newsom! I sure don't want to see him as president, or My Country will head to ruin!
My husband and I were both born and raised in California and raised our kids there. I’m happy to report that as if 2021 we all escaped the hell that Newsom (and Brown) has unleashed on Californians.

I’ve lived in California my whole life and never thought of leaving until Newson took over… He’s absolutely ruining this state.
I left for Arizona and let me tell you we’re going back. We left because of the politics and that looney Newsom, but we figured to ignore politics and homeschool our children as that’s what we’ve been doing here and we live much happier. California has more to offer than these other boring states. Also Arizona has some of the most attitude driven people, they’re all sad. So much road rage and shootings here all because people get mad at the hear, hell it’s a freaking desert! What did they expect?! Haha also if you’re white you’ll fit right in, they hate any other color here and it’s sad that stuff still exists.

I've had these discussions with people online several times. Every time I've criticized California, even on these topics, somebody is happy to contradict me, to deny that anything is wrong with California. The problem is that when people are true believers in a cause, they won't accept anything that contradicts them. They lose touch with reality, as reality isn't important to them; their perception of reality is most important to them. This is especially so when that perception of reality personally benefits these people, especially economically. People will rationalize all sorts of excuses if they think it will benefit themselves.
I've worked with several black men recently, some from foreign countries and some from the US. The black men from foreign countries have fairly ordinary political and religious viewpoints. The black men from the US constantly portray white men as inherently evil and black people as blameless. For example, one of the black men from the US had no problem ridiculing Biden, calling him a Zombie President. He wondered why we didn't remove him from office, as he's obviously incapacitated. I pointed out that if we did that, we would get Kamala, who is a morally depraved wretch. That man immediately took up a verbal attack, claiming that my pronunciation of "Kamala" is because I'm racist, and I'm just trying to keep black people down. When I've pointed out some of the reprehensible things that the group, Black Lives Matter, has done, such as not benefitting any black person outside of their organization's own leadership while fund-raising millions of dollars in memory of blacks in general and George Floyd in particular, these co-workers excuse it by saying that this is exactly how Donald Trump has done. We have a wave of self-entitled people who are determined to use our political process to enrich themselves. This is what the Left promotes.

We live in CA for 12 years, this congressman is right on every statement! $350K paychecks cannot make us live comfortably, highest tax, highest living cost, highest housing, avg. education, bad road condition… The only reason we have to stay is for my kids, CA students get admitted to top two UCs easier and tuition for in state students is affordable. Our goal is achieved, I guess the high tax is paid off😂

I was born and raised to age 21 in Iowa as a Republican. I moved to CA in '75 and lived there for 26yrs. When I moved there, it truly was the golden state. That lasted for 10yrs until '85. Then, things started to change. I finally moved back to Iowa in '04 and I was so glad to leave! I wouldn't move back for all the tea in China! Many of my adult friends are native Californians and none have anything good to say about CA over the last 20yrs. They will say that if/when they want t leave and move anywhere else, They'll most likely be able to down-size to a nicer, smaller home and pay for it in cash ANYWHERE outside of CA. After they pay cash, they'll still have $3-$400k left over to live on in retirement.
26yrs in CA was enough for me and one of my best friend's and her husband, both native to CA, moved to ID in retirement and have been there for over 5 yrs.
It is a sad day when a 'fixer-upper house costs over $500k in S CA! If you look at the scum-bag governor, you've pretty much figured out the problems. The CA crime family who runs not only the state, but Washington is a shame!
I think the small business owners in California should hold a rally to protest against the failed governance and lack of law & order in protecting the businesses. It's heart-wrenching to see that theft and looting is becoming an accepted norm in California.

CA has been great during my 68 years. I worked and have a decent retirement and health care. I am a single woman now and wouldn't live anywhere else. We made the move to AZ last year. Our business and 10 employees. Couldn’t be happier. It’s amazing the difference in doing business, enjoying the outdoors, no traffic, small town feel, amazing mountains just an hours drive away, much nicer people, etc etc. regular is 3.29 a gallon here BTW.

If you spend money to relieve the ‘poverty’ but the character of people or their mental fitness or their moral compass do NOT change then all you’ve basically done is made it more comfortable to be a less than admirable citizen.
Homelessness is not primarily a poverty problem - in other words it’s not an issue of economics or income. It’s a culture and societal issue.
It’s like buying fresh varnish for the deck of a yacht but ignoring the big holes in the hull.
Just like the desilination sp?plants that were to be built and even was paid for never materialized. Plants to turn ocean water into fresh drinking water. As land is sinking slowly & ocean water coming in.
Most of the money go to non-profit organizations to "solve" homelessness that don't do anything... they're just laundering money...
