This is one of my top 3 songs of theirs... it is arguably their most political and is important in the story of what makes them them, especially when you hear those words as baby ARMY such as "taking risks in their careers". Along with Spring Day, this IS that song... from the very first seconds, even the choreo that they do is telling the story of the song, right down to acting like the pigs when they are on the ground. It isn't fair to the song for me to try and type out all the political, society contexts, but I'm pretty sure there are some video guides that break down about the Korean societal/political issues they are referencing. They only got to perform this once or twice, I believe, at a time when people who spoke about these issues were being blacklisted by the government... but they brilliantly packaged it. One thing that they do really well is put the heaviest and most political/societal of topics with the almost irreverent style of music like Baepsae and GoGo. *my disclaimer of apologies for any potential errors in this write up, lol, it is unintentional and will edit if i notice anything. :)
They risked being blacklisted but weren't. The song on the other hand was. Why? as you said because it was possibly their most political song. Have you watched "BTS: More than K-pop" by bby gang mag? He names 3 songs that are very political/different and explains what he means.
This song is a direct clap-back at a government minister in Park Geun-hye's administration, and could have gotten them blacklisted. Definitely look into the backstory! They were so brave to put this out, as well as donating to the Sewol Ferry Families charity, etc. Love these guys... 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Agree. Spring Day was their song for Sewol Ferry incident, which revived the controversy that caused chaos in SK's political atmosphere and the expediency of conviction of the ferry officers. This song is their answer to one of the Ministers who was criticised for his stans on social differences and called the struggling SKoreans as pigs. Both, songs somehow contributed to social awareness among the youth and supported the groups who were strongly criticizing the government at that moment. This was their first performance of this song on national TV and, after this performance, BTS was banned to perform on TV until the new government sat in Office. The colors of their coats represent the colors of their flag of SK. The other video is their filmed practice. Thus, the next time they sang this was online in one of their halloween presentation.
u both are so right that's why I would have loved this video more if there was a deep dive on the significance if this song because its not common for audience who watch this videos to read on the comments to get to know the song more... but anyway I don't want to be a stickler, anybody can enjoy bts' songs however they prefer hehe 💜🙏🏼✌🏼
@@meemac4709 I would be a little careful claiming that Spring Day revived the controversy in SK. It really didn't do much for the issue since it was already full-force ahead at the time. Claiming that kinda takes away from the hard work of the movement and the people who did speak out about it directly at that time. Former President Park Geun-hye was impreached in December, the year BEFORE Spring Day was released, about three months before to be exact. The MV for Spring Day was a great memorial, but did little for the actual movement to hold the government responsible for the tragedy. The president had already been impeached and everyone in government was planning on and did vote to move ahead with it, nothing to do with Spring Day. BTS was NOT banned from performing on stage at all during this time. This particular song was blacklisted from government stations, but not BTS as a whole at ALL. BTS performed Spring Day MANY times on government stations between the release of Am I Wrong and the new government coming into office, and many other songs off the You Never Walk Alone album. Let's spread facts, not lies.
@@ipurpleu1668 Thank you so much for correcting me.. I just saw that in documentary film explaining the Spring Day song. Perhaps it was wrong to re-echo that here.. As to the "Am I Wrong" song, i also read it that BTS was actually banned to perform the song on TV shows, not the BTS themselves. So i stand corrected on that. Truly, thank you very much for your informative reply ✌️💜💜💜 .
This is BTS most political song to date! It's FIRE! And the choreo matching up with the lyrics... This is SUCH a hidden gem. The references are just chef's kiss! Really deserve a reaction to an explanation video (technically a fan theory). BTS was so brave for releasing this track. It could have made them black listed.
it's always gonna be a surprise for me to see people discovering some of bts' older discographies and say it doesn't really sound like them, or the music is something that they weren't expecting from them because for me, this always has been bts' sound. i mean, i guess that's really the charm about bts. i've been a fan since 2014 so i basically grew up with them and their style of music, this was i was used to. and if anything, their newer releases were the strange ones for me but even that i still liked because they still have their golden touch to it. yes, it sounds different but it's still bts. this is why we always joke around that bts' genre is bts, they don't necessarily fit into one type of music and yes, they may all sound different (which is a good thing, it's amazing how you can see their growth throughout the years just by listening to their albums) but bts is still bts. i don't know how they do it, but whenever they release something new, i still get the feeling that "ah, this is really bts" even though the album has a totally different vibe from their previous albums. but maybe it's because they have their own personal touch to it? i don't know. it's freakin good.
That first part is a sample of the song Am I Wrong by the Grammy-winning American blues musician Keb’ Mo’. Just a little bonus information, he lives in Nashville. This song was risky for BTS because of potential backlash given the political statement they were making.
This comeback stage was after BTS' debut of Blood Sweat and Tears mv on Oct. 9, 2016. This era of BST was bittersweet bc it was a dark period for Jimin and V. Also, it was a turning point for both BTS and the ARMY fandom bc their popularity grew in record numbers overnight! Lastly, this was the era and year that BTS started getting respect. Keb Mo is an amazing blues musician and someone I’ve been a huge fan of for over 20 years. It’s a damn bop which they get hyped and make bops out of the social commentary songs I swear. On the topic of choreo, I have heard that J-Hope learns the routines and then makes the necessary changes to fit the styles of the others. He's a brilliant man, that's for sure. They also practice hours upon hours to get in sync. It's amazing what they do!
Their main choreographer is/was Son Sung Deuk. Jung Hoseok contributes to the choreo... but so does Park Jimin. With neither I have an idea of how much only that they do.
I have a few songs that are not as well known: 134340 aka “that Pluto song” (one of those RM Whalien type songs) on Love Yourself Tear. --Inner Child by V-a sweet introspective song that was on Map of the Soul 7, -- and Attack on Bangtan. When I just heard the music, I was like “that’s really good”, but then I watched a live from a Japan Concert (maybe 2016?) The guys were wearing black/black and gold suits. And when I say it was live, it is LIVE. The energy! --Had to come back and add Ioniq/I’m on it. That Hyundai commercial that is a full out MV!
This is one of my all time favorite “B” songs. I always say it reminds me of “Louisiana Shuffle” (though no doubt I have that completely wrong). 😂 I love your choice to do your reactions with this format. 💜
Since people covered the social commentary element, I will just add that I fell in love with the song because of the Cajun Zydeco vibe. I was in the Louisiana swamp. Ah yeah.💜
100% with the hidden gems. You have already done soooo many of their songs, so forgive me if these are repeats. But here's my personal list of non-title and lesser-known track favorites: Second Grade, Autumn Leaves, Look Here, Whalien 52, Wishing on a Star, Come Back Home, Let Go, 134340, Love Maze, Paldogangsan, Tomorrow, Louder than Bombs, Telepathy, and all three of the unit songs from the BTS World OST: Dream Glow, A Brand New Day, and All Night. Happy Listening!
Great choices; totally agree! Some other performances which are worth looking into (some are covers) are Perfect Man, As I Told You, Path, and Rainism.
this is always one of my favorites songs ... u might check out "look here"- it has kind of the same unexpected vibe to it ... this is the first of ur reactions i've seen and i enjoyed it - esp your openness; thanks so much for listening to and allowing bangtan to surprise u ...
Am I Wrong my beloved! This is definitely one of those songs that polarise people, they love it or want to pretend it doesn't exist, and it's just love love love for me. Does it say a lot that most of my faves are their political songs? Yes... yes it does. Make sure you look up what it's about, ARMY amino has a great breakdown, because it is FAR from 'fun' when you know it's talking about government corruption, Sewol, and politicians that clearly HATE the people they claim to serve.
Am I Wrong? is SUCH a great one! It's got a such a cool bluesy twang and isn't afraid to point out political wrongs 🙌 My favorite hidden gem of theirs is "Tomorrow". It's gotten me out of bed when I've been stuck depressive episodes and pumped when I need it most. You should check it out if you haven't already! 💜
Loved this! I think some of the most fun and creative BTS songs are the older ones. Before I became ARMY, I used to casually listen to Kpop, but BTS turned my world upside down in the best way possible because my first listen to them hooked me right away with their different sound. I have never loved a band like this ever! Loving your videos BTW! 💜
honestly, bts has many left-fielders and they're all b-side tracks so it's probably not as requested as the title tracks but you gotta do their albums, man. but of course, this song is one of those topnotchers. 💜
That's another one of the attributes that make BTS so special and fun to get to know. I have been ARMY for two years and I have never heard this song. If anyone knows of any other band that does so many genres of music, please let me know. I would like to check them out. Thank you!
This song is arguably one of their most political songs they have done and like someone else said this song could've got them blacklisted, but then again BTS always spoke out about the government and always told the truth which is why most fans came to adore them for their bravery for standing upto things they think isn't right
This song and the dance are an intricate critique of Korean society at that time. Each word and associated movement has layers of meanings that are really important. Also the song samples and "features" southern blues singer Keb Mo.

for the deeper meaning of Am I Wrong I recommend video my bby gang mag called "BTS: More Than K-Pop". The video is about BTS making different statements in their songs like Baepsae or No More Dream.
This sounds more like a blues shuffle than “Southern soul” to me. Not surprising, since not only does the song sample Keb Mo’s “Am I Wrong,” he also participated in producing the song.
The song is essentially criticizing political apathy: "If what you see on the news is nothing to you... You're not normal, you're abnormal." And that song was released in a quite tense political context in Korea if I'm not wrong
This is one of my faves and I love the dancing to it! I agree with you, the little hidden gems that are not often suggested, are often times the best songs!
Yesssss. This song is so special!!!!! The rythm is so different to other BTS songs. Looooooove the choreo. This has influences from their jorney to the US and all that hustle (that I personally don´t like) but this song is spectacular!!!!!!
Please react to Louder than Bombs and Don’t Leave Me! The first they have never sang live, sadly, and the second is a Japanese track that they have sung live but I can only find short clips of.
*shivers* Damn it! I LOVE this song for Jimin's high note...yet...I always forget about Jimin's high note in this song. WHEW! Same with "Let Me Know"...gets me EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.
I feel like "Am I Wrong" has a lot in common stylistically with "Born Singer." In both cases, they recombined another artist's music with their own lyrics and to create something new that's a blend of the original artist and BTS. "Am I Wrong" is sampled from blues legend Keb' Mo', and I just went and re-listened to his original after hearing this. I thought they'd just sampled a few bars for the underlying beat/call, but if you listen closely, the vocal lines play off of the guitar riffs from the original, too. It really is an awesome song.

Their main choreographer is/was Son Sung Deuk. Jung Hoseok contributes to the choreo... but so does Park Jimin. With neither I have an idea of how much only that they do.
Jimin's amazing high notes and performance ❤
This happens to be one of my favorite songs off "Wings". Love it live! The dance is fun.
Wow jimin es increíble único 💜💜💜🇨🇱🇨🇱🇨🇱
I have a few songs that are not as well known: 134340 aka “that Pluto song” (one of those RM Whalien type songs) on Love Yourself Tear. --Inner Child by V-a sweet introspective song that was on Map of the Soul 7, -- and
Attack on Bangtan.
Yes, that live performance was awesome!!!
Especially the part were V said Nico Nico ni~
Then Jimin laughing on the floor 🤣🤣👌
This is one of my all time favorite “B” songs. I always say it reminds me of “Louisiana Shuffle” (though no doubt I have that completely wrong). 😂 I love your choice to do your reactions with this format. 💜
Since people covered the social commentary element, I will just add that I fell in love with the song because of the Cajun Zydeco vibe. I was in the Louisiana swamp. Ah yeah.💜
all of their songs are gems, i recommend: we on, look here, and sophomore/ second grade, converse high
Second Grade is crazy catchy! Also Louder than Bombs is unbeatable!
Whalien 52 gets me every time. 😕
Thanks fr a newbie 65r

🥰👏💜🤩😅🤣
Wishing on a Star is a personal fave of mine too :)
Great choices; totally agree! Some other performances which are worth looking into (some are covers) are Perfect Man, As I Told You, Path, and Rainism.
This song is a vibe and its story is inspiring. Another great song from them is Look Here 💜
Ese agudo de Jimin no es complicadísimo pero le queda preciosooo.
This is one of my favorite dance around the house songs. 😘💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
One of my favorites....BTS always has the best b-side tracks...
F*CK I can't agree more
Jimin 👏👏👏👏👏
this is always one of my favorites songs ... u might check out "look here"- it has kind of the same unexpected vibe to it ... this is the first of ur reactions i've seen and i enjoyed it - esp your openness; thanks so much for listening to and allowing bangtan to surprise u ...
B-Side BTS are some of my favorites. Jump live is really great too. They also did a cover of Come Back Home that you need to watch!
Am I Wrong? is SUCH a great one! It's got a such a cool bluesy twang and isn't afraid to point out political wrongs 🙌
My favorite hidden gem of theirs is "Tomorrow".
Thank you!
Thank you!!!! This is the song that made me ARMY and drawn into this BTS rabbit hole 💜
Their best hidden gem. I adore this jammy jam. I love the sample and the message. 💜💜💜
Hands down my favorite hidden gem of theirs. I used to always suggest it to reacters. But they never did it.
They sooooo in sync! Love the older bts songs. 💜
There are so many more "hidden gems" yet for you to discover. 🙂Looking forward to it!
This song is arguably one of their most political songs they have done and like someone else said this song could've got them blacklisted, but then again BTS always spoke out about the government and always told the truth which is why most fans came to adore them for their bravery for standing upto things they think isn't right
This music is really an hidden gem! 💜
Underrated song! 🎶
So 👏🏼 good 👏🏼 !! 💜
This song and the dance are an intricate critique of Korean society at that time. Each word and associated movement has layers of meanings that are really important. Also the song samples and "features" southern blues singer Keb Mo.
John Reaves‼️U ROCK🤩
Thanks 4ths🥰 Among others, like Jared & Jordan, ur 1 of my tops goto reactions that draw me daily in celebration of BTS's greatness💜 I learn new things fr u bout BTS💜. I like your systematic method👏👏👏Ur soul is sincerely heartfelt, 4them, ur audience & fr wthnU❣️
May GOD blesU indeed w favor upon favor🙏🏻🇵🇭 ❣️
for the deeper meaning of Am I Wrong I recommend video my bby gang mag called "BTS: More Than K-Pop". The video is about BTS making different statements in their songs like Baepsae or No More Dream.
absolutely love this song and this choreography 😍❤💜💜
I absolutely love this song..
Loved that you watched the lyrics, practice and the performance!! I love this song too!!
This sounds more like a blues shuffle than “Southern soul” to me. Not surprising, since not only does the song sample Keb Mo’s “Am I Wrong,” he also participated in producing the song.
💜
I have always loved this song. 💜
Tbch GoGo, 21st Century Girl, & Am I Wrong are 3 of my all time fave songs

you cannot go wrong with Keb Mo' and BTS...I mean, no way!!! This is favorite of mine, for sure!!!
💜
Moving On, and Sea are my favorite lesser known songs
The "Am I wrong" lines are samples of a 90s Blues song called "Am I Wrong" by Keb Mo. I love the production in this song.
RM is the songwriter of the whole song.
Love this song, my top10
Aay había olvidado lo buena que es esta canción y coreo! Bts is sooo cool!!
The song is essentially criticizing political apathy: "If what you see on the news is nothing to you... You're not normal, you're abnormal."
And that song was released in a quite tense political context in Korea if I'm not wrong
This is one of my faves and I love the dancing to it! I agree with you, the little hidden gems that are not often suggested, are often times the best songs!
This song is so much fun
Yesssss. This song is so special!!!!! The rythm is so different to other BTS songs. Looooooove the choreo. This has influences from their jorney to the US and all that hustle (that I personally don´t like) but this song is spectacular!!!!!!
Am I Wrong is one of my favs. Bangtan old songs are really good. The lyrics though.
Please react to Louder than Bombs and Don’t Leave Me! The first they have never sang live, sadly, and the second is a Japanese track that they have sung live but I can only find short clips of.
When people ask why I think BTS is so different -Louder than Bombs - Exhibit A
Fabulous. This and Ma City are on my constant playlist. Such unusual, jazzy beats. Thanks.
I’m so glad you did the dance practice!
21st century girl is another gem
All song,lyrics,melody i like🥰🥰✌️
Yeeesssss!!! Been waiting for you to react to this one 👏👏👏👏 let’s go!!!
Es una de mis preferidas😍
I think Jimin could easily sing some heavy metal. He has the growl, grit and ability to get up in those higher notes. He does it on Tony Montana.
Hi I just subscribed to your channel, I'm a new army 💜, but I'm also a metal head, these guys have infected me with their beauty, talent, humor and good heart, I'm glad to be part of the big purple sea, Your channel is one of the few I follow, your energy and the energy of your followers is perfect, I'm emphat and its sooooo good to be surrounded by positive energy, "i can feel it " !!😊every video of yours is equally good, looking forward to the future content !! Thank u so much ,i purple ya all here 💜
Jimin 🔥
Thank you.. great reaction💜💜💜
I recommend “Louder Then Bombs” by BTS
OMG I love this song and love you John..really want to join a live dont know what time you do them
This was one of several never before released dance practices that came out during Festa 2022 but were from years ago.
John, you should definitely look into the background of this song. The direct shot at a specific politician is just *chef's kiss* They were lucky they weren't blacklisted for this one tbh.
My favorite!thanks!
This is based on a Keb Mo song! Heard him play it live when he was touring before Covid. He is fab, check him out!
💜
I love BTS MUSIC AND VIDEO 2 THEY ARE SOOOOOOOO AWESOME 👍🏼❤❤❤❤
old is gold
Good morning Mr Reeves from rainy and wet UK! Cheerios!
One of my fav songs of theirs and I listened to it today on my 'UGH!' playlist.
I have 2 kinda hype playlists on YT and Spotify and it's on both. One playlist called "UGH!" and the other "BTS 'Bangtan' Playlist" if you go to my channel and scroll down just a little you find them in the BTS playlist section.
Check them out, the songs on the 2 playlists, I think you enjoy them too and great when working out or feeling a bit down or mad or tired or hype. 'We On' is also on both, if you haven't reacted to that one you should do that next.
p.s. It is not songs uploaded by me, I just make playlist with official channels videos so I have playlists ready fitting different moods so I'm not getting anything from people checking it out, I don't upload anything. d.s.
One of my favorite B sides of theirs.
Plzzz react bts live @concert attack on bangtan & jump. Kerennnn abisss pokonya
I don’t know if you’ve heard, but BTS have done a great collab with Pentatonix!. “ a little space”. It’s just amazing!.
21 centry girl. Lights. A typical trainies Christmas. Christmas love. Paldogansan. War of hormone. Make it right. We Are bulletproof the eternal. Home. Seesaw.
Amo esta canción, ya escuchaste “Tomorrow”?? Esa también es fantástica
