I know you really enjoy watching live performances but in this one their mv was so precious and I am sad that you didn't see it. The fact that they are talking about how they need a light and they are actually singing to each other and getting together to watch a movie together it is such a beautiful mv. I love watching their live performances as well but I actually love the mv for this song.

This is one of my favorite Japanese BTS songs (so underrated in my opinion)!!!! This is also one of the songs that made me call myself ARMY!! I love how you can have the 'light" in this song be anyone and/or anything (for me I think of family, friends, BTS, some ARMY, and/or God)!!! I wish you could have reacted to the MV but that is okay I understand...(p.s. if you were worried about blocking, I don't think they would with this song because I haven't seen anyone be blocked because of the MV; granted times are changing) Thank you for the reactions!!
This song does have an MV as well in case you didn’t know. Heartbeat is one of my favs too…similar vibe although I don’t think it’s in Japanese. It’s a song made for their mobile game and has an amazing MV, it seems to be missed by many reactors so I would recommend that for sure💜

That's the cool thing about BTS and their lyrics. They can really be intrepreted in so many ways and they are always so relatable. I've been having alot of anxiety lately and honestly I can watch a run episode, play a song ,go to their Instagrams or watch a reaction video of someone else enjoying them and I'd start to smile.That's what this song feels like to me, it's a song about our relationship to each other BTS and Army.
We don't hear enough about Lights. Thank you for finding and appreciating it's lyrics and beauty.

This is one of my favorite songs of theirs-- the harmonies are just beautiful, and the whole song is immensely uplifting and comforting. The line "we are connected by sound" was kind of a lifeline for me during the pandemic... it made me realize that, even though we were all separate and the Tannies were literally on the other side of the planet, I could connect to them and to ARMY whenever I wanted just by listening to their music. No matter how far apart we were, we were connected. And the line about closing their eyes to see the light made me think of Magic Shop-- the light is coming from *inside* and is always there when you need it. 💜

I remember the day this song came out in 2019 omggg! That day was so magical tbh and this song is so magical to me! To this day this is one of my favorite BTS songs and mvs it’s one of my comfort songs! Thank you for reacting to it and you are a comfort and light to us too!🫶
I use my husband's name not mine just to keep him close. He passed away a year ago and this song/lyrics touch everything I was and am feeling. JK saying we can walk forward without fear. Jin/jimin: pre-chorus and all of j-hope part. Rm: dawn will come to the darkest of nights, decide what it means to be happy (still struggle w that). Jimin: it's OK to show weakness (tell everyone I'm ok)

This is one of my favourite songs fullstop. I have always called my loved ones my lights, my stars, and when I found this song I bawled. It encompasses so much of how I feel and the way I view things. Plus Jimin and Jungkook with the call and answer at the end and the final harmony is just beautiful. I love it.
After Hobi-polluza, JH and JM did a live together. JH told JM that he helped him a lot just by being there. JH said it was like he in darkness and when Jimin showed up and called his name he was a bright light in the darkness! It was so sweet🥰🥰

I couldn’t agree with you more!!!They are a light and so are you💜💜💜I am in the same boat I struggle at work everyday..I struggle to keep working because physically it’s not working out for me I have a severe case of scoliosis so enjoying life is a struggle I can’t do this can’t do that…but I gotta pay the bills….I even feel guilty like I can’t make BTS responsible for my happiness or the worlds happiness…that’s too much pressure 💜

I love this song so much! It has gotten me through some tough/uncertain times in my life. If I’m feeling down I immediately listen to a BTS song or watch a video. I feel happiness in that moment even if it’s temporary. It’s like a breath of fresh air that gives me motivation to keep going. Thank you for this reaction!

It's cool that you're watching some of the lesser known songs and performances. I think you would like Paldogangsan. It's one of my absolute faves. It's a super fun song about how they come from different areas of Korea and speak with different accents or 'satoori'. (사투리) The rapline wrote it pre-debut but they adjusted it for the whole group and it's on their first album.

This is definitely one of my fav Japanese songs of theirs and their lives always tend to be better. And thank you for saying that we provided you with some light into your heavy-laden world. I think the beautiful thing about BTS is that not only have they created a comfort zone for us but they have empowered us to spread that love and joy that they have given us. I can’t be so bold as to say that I personally have been a part of your light but I am happy to claim 0.0000001% of that credit🤣. I think that unbeknownst to you, by sharing your journey and doing these videos, for me at least, this provides me as a way to share the love that I have for BTS and get to see the happiness that it brings. It brings me joy. So in turn, you, John, has also contributed to my “light”. So thank you!
For You and Lights are the two Japanese music videos I enjoy. I usually like seeing live performances of most of the songs, but I adore those two. I love any and every live performance of their Japanese songs.
You are so right in that there is something unique in the delivery of the Japanese songs. You can point out many things that attribute to it, but it’s a wonderful, soothing experience no matter what the reason. I’m not a musician or a music expert. I just know what I like.

When my brother was deployed to Kuwait I sent this song to him. He is my best friend, and before his bootcamp we hadn’t spent more than a day apart, so this distance was SO hard on us. These lyrics spoke volumes to me during that time. I’m glad this spoke to you as well!!!

BigHit planted a huge easter egg in the Lights MV which 99% of ARMYs still don't notice. At the frame where Jim walks to the camera there is a noticeboard on the wall on his left and pinned to the edge (bottom right of our screen) is the "Map of the Soul: 7" logo. This was before the album was even announced.

I get what you're saying John, cause until I found BTS (or they found me, not sure which, but) I struggled to keep myself out of the dumps, on a daily basis. My emotions surged up & down all the time after ten deaths of people I loved within about 7 years, The LIGHT, the goodness, laughter, the way these young men simply showed how much they care for eachother made me recall being younger & not being so cynical from the far too many awful events I'd been through in my life.
Their light reminded me that life is also beautiful, hopeful & has so much joy in it as well as the tougher emotions. Their song "So What" performed live, it specifically hit me with real & lasting meaning. I started seriously realizing that I, was the one hurting my own self over and over by reliving & thus reinflicting old hurts, repeatedly.
I began to decide to forgiven everything & let it all go I saw how foolish it was to allow another's careless words or actions in the PAST to STILL be makung me sad and messing up my TODAYS.
Most people probably don't even realize when thet've hurt my feelings, but I'd always told myself they DID know & so that made me think it was intentional. Thinking that way built resentment, anger & hurt & all that kept me miserable. I did not know how to take a step to heal andmove on, felt stuck in a endless loop.
BTS, through MANY of their songs, things they've said when I was watching them showed me that it's MY CHOICE reallyt, to dwell on unpleasant PAST events or to man up and decide to LET things GO, move on & stop being so wrapped up in my feelings.
Thse days I can be feeling sad or down, but I''ll pause & ask myself if the situation warrants the way I'm feeling or if my brain & body is trying to tell me something else like maybe I'm just overtired, or body is in pain or I'm getting sick, or it could be that I need to nurture my heart, soul & body.necause I need it.
I've learned to examine whether what I'm feeling (and why I think I'm feeling that way) is accurate. For example if I think 'No one loves me." Well, I KNOW that is not true in my logical brain, because I KNOW my 4 adult kids, 6 sisters, 6 grandkids all love me so I can shut that thinking down and look deepper inside for why I'm ifeeling however I feel, sometimes it is just to much overwhelming stress & I need to tune out for half a day .I am so much more stable these days thanks yo BTS, ARMYS and LOVE.

You are right about the language…..it flows so much more lovely. Korean is a little more “gutteral” but I also think it is so beautiful. I just LOVE these two languages out of all the Asian languages…… and when they sing in Japanese…..it takes it to another level for me…..probably has a lot to do with Jimin being my bias as he and Jin sound so unbelievable in Japanese!
This is one of my fave Japanese BTS songs too... I also really like "Film Out" and "Let Go"... "Let Go" was especially meaningful to me, cos it came out around the time my father passed away from liver cancer, and I listened to it the very first time when I was riding in the hearst with him on his funeral day... I cried so much, I couldn't bring myself to listen to it again for about 2 years without being brought back to that moment and crying again... but now when I listen to it, it gives me a sense of hope and new beginnings instead.
