The backing track is totally his voice. He did all of his own backup parts/multi layers. That's why he didn't have backup singers.
Agreed and it's the same thing I've done so it's what a lot of soloist like to do. It also means you're not paying other's to be on your song.
I like how JK did all the adlibs, harmonising, etc. He knows how to do it Best so need for back up singers. He is a perfectionist so he wants everything to his liking so he did it himself . All rounder.

People don't understand the vocal work that JK puts into BTS. Yes, all the members have great, unique voices but even ARMY will admit, JK is a powerhouse.
He is credited in some way on most BTS vocal tracks through his harmonies and ad-libs and he records most of the vocal guides. They have a massive discography covering multiple genres making this even more amazing.

The songs on Golden (Jk's album) were not written by him and in fact he said that they are not autobiographical, but his interpretation is so incredible that you can feel the emotion in each of them and the ballads are my favorites. Jk is a tremendous artist, he has written and produced beautiful songs, although singing and performing are undoubtedly his passion. He has a great future as an artist.
Jungkook is so versatile he can sing in many styles and excell in many genres
who needs a backup singer when you can layer you are so versatile you can create different layers of your own voices.
Some people like it, it goes down to preference.
Jungkook is not even fluent in speaking in English.
Its his talent , passion and years of hardwork he put to make English covers .he covered many English covers of his favorite songa/vocals to improve his pronounciation and its was his passion to sing.
Which help him alot to release full album in foregin language with with good pronunciation and accent.

This album and the promo happened in pretty quick succession. He did only a few gigs before he had to enlist in the military. He also does a vast majority of his own layers and ad libs in the background.

This is such a touching song which Jungkook performs beautifully.
Jungkook is a versatile artist and vocalist. He puts perfect emotion to songs he sings though the songs are not based on his own experience. That's how good he is and no one comes close to him FOR ME! He is just so good to listen to.
This was his album release party on iHeartRadio so I guess they just want to showcase his voice (as it is presented on the album). I’ve only seen them very occasionally use back up singers. They usually perform with back up dancers. His Audacy live performance showcases 4 songs from his album, 2 of which you haven’t yet heard. The last one “Closer to You” is very different to the rest. JK has perfect vocal pitch and has been described as a chameleon by producers and other celebrities alike. “Seven” is JK’s most successful hit. There’s an mv and it’s also in that Audacy live performance. He was sick for the entirety of its promotion so vocally not his best for live performances. However, Audacy was filmed later as part of his “Golden” album promotion. I loved that you appreciated this song.
Enjoyed your reaction. As far as I know, he does most of his own backup singing and adlibs (and many of BTS' as he is the main vocalist), so that is probably why there is no backup singer.

Intersting question about the backup singers . I have very rarely seen any backup singers in their performances. Even with a live band they prefer having a backing track with turned down volume instead.
For this song in particular, as you can see it's heavy on the emotions, so just his vocals and the mic is clearly a choice to keep the authenticity of vulnerability his voice brings.
I can't even remember if I saw backup singers with them except Proof live and when Tae was promoting Layover.

That's backing track is him.
JK didn’t write any of the songs on his album because they are ALL-English and he is not fluent in English. Shawn Mendez actually wrote this song (or was one of the writers) JK is a songwriter/producer, but it is not a passion of his, at least in this part of his life. He is the only member on the vocal line in BTS that is a full fledged member of the Korean Music Copyright ASSOCIATION. I expect all of them to be promoted at some time. The three rappers write the VAST majority of BTS songs. :)
It is very common in KPop to use backing tracks. Something you just have to accept or it, in suppose. 😊 The backing harmonies, etc are ALL JungKook. I guess that’s why they didn’t hire someone else to do it, because he has already don’t it. I do understand your point, though. It took me a little time to get used to when I started getting into KPop.
Forgot to add some suggestion. Hope you look into BTS and the other talented members. JK is my bias, but it would be a shame for you not to experience all of them. They are so different which makes for a diverse, quality group.

Because he did his own back up vocals on the recorded song so he's not able when singing live to do both parts. He chooses which bits he want's to sing which bits he'll let his own backing vocals sing and if he wants to sing over his backing vocals. It's quite normal I've done it myself, Especially when I want to add a harmony line or just add some adlibs.

Given that it's him singing his own backup vocals and that's kind of impossible to do when you're in a live performance they use his voice on the backing track.

A very short period of time for him to promote! And this is a stage without a paying audience so that could explain the backtrack. As I said the last time: he is born with an instrument down his neck and he honed is craft for years. His album is about loverelationship: from first meet to braeking up. He tells himself he hate his ex in order to coop with it.

The recorded version of this FMV shows a visual part in this FMV. It's near the end of the song. You'll see penciled-like drawings of moving black and white pictures. The moving images show JK hand in hand running with a girl with purple hair (I think the purple hair represents Army). Then it shows the penciled drawing of his tattooed hand writing the words hate and love. Next, it moves to a concert arena, in the same penciled style, showing the thousands of light torches the army holds up swaying with the music.
The meaning of this song is probably how he feels about leaving his Army to go into the military and hates having to leave them behind. So he needs to hate them for now to survive. But he wants Army to know he really doesn't hate them. That's why at the end he says it's not the truth. Watch JK's Hate You FMV and you'll see the visual part that gives you the true meaning of this song. It's so beautiful and heartbreaking. When he holds that note near the end, for a long moment it's absolutely mesmerizing and it gave me goosebumps. this is one of his best for sure. Can't wait for him to come back to us. 🥹😒🫤🫠🤧😌🐰🤟💜🩷

Jungkook isn't an English speaker and this album was done in a matter of months, with the actual recordings taking place in about a weeks time. He was booking events during the period when the writer's strike was ongoing, and he was preparing for a showcase in Korea. This song released as part of the album on Nov. 3, 2023 and all his performances had to be completed before the first week in December so he could enlist. There wasn't time to get background singers up to speed. JK is a perfectionist who prefers to put pressure on himself instead of others. In the future, if he does a solo tour, I would expect him to utilize background vocalist, but not for studio events or ones when he only performs a few songs. The logistics aren't practicle for the time being. Songs have gotten shorter so as to be easier to stream, in order to set higher stteaming numbers. The industry is killing the art for the sake of setting records. Sad reality.

He was emotional for real. He did not write the song (credit to Shawn Mendez) but watching the visualizer I am pretty sure he is thinking of ARMY because he had to go to his mandatory military service.
