Man this game was so epic it’s hard to believe it released in 2009! One of my favourite RPG of all time, the armies marching gives me goosebumps everytime

Yea, my favorite game of all time as well. I think I have played through the game 7 times now, and I still have a blast playing it and I still see new stuff which is insane. I honestly love everything about this game. The combat, the writing, the characters, the questlines, the voice acting, the dialouge choices, the low fantasy dark gritty setting etc. I Only have some minor complaints about it overall, which is very unusual considering im very nitpicky about aspects I don't like in games.
If i can get my 360 to work on my damn smarty tv and find the controller, i might even forget i have a ps5. So many favorite old game i want to revisit and get lost in

@@Omnipotentmonkey inquisition just isnt as good as origins, hell id even argue DA 2 was a "better" dragon age game than inquisition. inquisition took the story line of the mage rebellion and threw it out the window 30 mins into the game lol when inquisition should of been built entirely around the rebellion and you trying to bring order to the conflict. either by helping the mages or the templars, or help the chantry by subjugating the temps and mages again. or make the inquisition a longer lasting faction that eventually replaces the chantry or the evil version of this. the elven gods no one gives a dusty fuck about and now they are ripping off god of war with dread wolf instead of making a GOOD dragon age game we fans have been begging for YEARS! yet bioware is ran by morons and incompetent fools trying to defend inquisition due to "dev time" is silly, seeing making video games back in the day was fucking ROUGH, way harder than it is today with how far the tech in the industry has come. and yes they had issues but the game they made underneath is just not good and inquisition was brainlessly easy to beat... you can solo the game after you unlock your spec classes on the hardest difficulty with zero issues with champion/assassin and spirit blade even post nerf. origins wasn't exactly a difficult game either, but the amazing story, music that gets hits you in the feels decades after release and characters that stick with you even for decades.... you don't have any of that in inquisition hell DA2 did it better in that regard even though DA2 was horrible as well like inquisition

Honestly miss when the Darkspawn were the central enemies. I mean, don't mind Corypheus infusing red lyrium with mages or templar, but at least make them darkspawn also.

This Blight was brutal, AND THIS ISN'T EVEN THE WORST! Bro previous Blights lasted years! the first lasted a century! This Blight took allof Ferelden and maybe Orlais, to take down. The Blight used to be so terrifying. currently, Veilguard keeps telling me, "the blight is so bad, here are several letters telling you how bad it is. There are so many cool ass battles happening in the South right now. Like so many cool ass battles are happening. Man you should see them! but you can't enjoy this mess instead."

Minor gripe... You spend the game gathering a massive army of different races, but what that translates to at the end is just choosing one of them 😢 It would have been much more epic to see them all battling at once
The entire point of those armies was not to fight with you, but to hold off the horde so you could manage to get to the archdemon. The darkspawn themselves do not matter if the head is cut off.
A setting that Veilguard could never capture, also Veilguard is suppose to be M rated yet there is hardly anything M rated yet in Origins we have grotesque Monsters, blood splattered everywhere

The speech scene plays out exactly the same no matter what you, with only anora or Alistair there being different. Both speeches are exactly the same, no alternative words at all. only anoras voice actor doesn't do a very good job. If this game was viewed as negatively as veilguard, this scene would be ripped apart, as well as the rest of the game.
No, it wouldn't, because 1) It doesn't try and shove us to accept mental illness as something normal and 2) it has so many redeaming qualities in the storytelling, lore and in world depth that the odd peice of bad dialogue can be forgiven. the gameplay is fun, the cinematics are beautiful, the characters each have their own flaws and strengths (nobody cares that Zeveran or Leliana are bi because they actually have depth.) Failguard had all this at the start and turned gold into s**t by pushing pathetic agendas with 4 'options' to agree with trash and non to reject it for what it is. In this game you canLITERALLY kill commpanions, you can boot them from the party, you can disagree with them and you can tell them to go do one. All your 'options' in Failguard are varius degrees of agreeing with the delusion, with terrible voice acting, 'funny' dialogue that is not even funny (unlike DA:II when hawks witty retort can actually make you chuckle) all rounded up in a giant ball of forced diversity (blk elves? really? We havent seen ONE to this point...) and making every bad guy white. Literally. Every single bad guy you come accross is white. because they have to cram in as much diversity as they possibly can, except diversity of thought - that must be purged.

It was more engaging and you had full control of your character at all times, not like dragon age where you press a button and watch your character just swing their weapon while waiting for abilities to recharge 😂 yeah it probably is the best dragon age game, but I say it’s overrated because I’ve seen multiple people say it’s the best RPG of all time and one of the best games ever, which is simply bs. Also graphics are not that big of a deal, but Arkham asylum looked so much better than DA:O, along with having way better animations and character models. Mass effect also looked much better. To me, dragon age origins looks like a ps2 game

In fact, it was written by them that having their women on the battlefield actually inspired and pushed their men to fight harder. then you also have great millitary leaders like Joan of Arc who posessed a keen millitarymind that turned a french rabble into an army.

As for Joan of Arc - I did say I'm cool with the odd exception because of course there will be some. But again, she is an EXCEPTION that proves the rule, and it does not mean that we should just let women act as if they're on par with men. Most aren't, particularly in the role of warriors/soldiers.

@@mikeyb0121couldnt you say the same thing about kotor 1 kotor 2 jade empire and mass effect 1 ?
Dragon age origins and both kotor games and jade to a digree all share the same level design along with the same gameplay not to mention mass effect 1 combat was the worst part of the game along side the mako.
The graphics may be a bit bad but you gotta remember they were trying to go for a dark fantasy type game thats why its brown and dark where as mass effect 1 is more blue and white due to the fact that its space themed not saying the graphics are great in 2024 but go back to games around that time like saints row 2 gears of war 2 and arkham asylum assasins creed 2 they all have the same type graphics that origins has.
And as for the generic writing its a bioware game what do you expect they need that because the games have so many diffrent outcomes that players are able to see how things play out in other ways.
Im not saying your wrong you are right in many ways but just because a game has a few problems doesnt mean its overrated this is the best dragon age we ever got and will ever get and its not even close.
@@pumpkinpie1509 mass effect combat wasn’t that good, but better than dragon age origins. It was more engaging and you had full control of your character at all times, not like dragon age where you press a button and watch your character just swing their weapon while waiting for abilities to recharge 😂 yeah it probably is the best dragon age game, but I say it’s overrated because I’ve seen multiple people say it’s the best RPG of all time and one of the best games ever, which is simply bs. Also graphics are not that big of a deal, but Arkham asylum looked so much better than DA:O, along with having way better animations and character models. Mass effect also looked much better. To me, dragon age origins looks like a ps2 game
@@mikeyb0121yeah your right about all that though with mass effect 1 they actually fixed some of the gameplay problems with legendary edition so stuff like the mako dosent go off the rails as much and for dragon age origins being the greatest rpg yeah idk about that though it is memorable.
