Yeah but GW2 Cantha has no reason to be a sprawling shanty town. Shiro has been dead for centuries (like, dead dead for the 2nd time), and the affliction has most likely stopped appearing the same day he was defeated, and the flooding of the coastal areas like old Kaineng probably means a good chunk of the population died as well. People moved out to the countrysides again. TBH I do still miss old Kaineng, it just felt so surreal after Shing Jea Island being so traditionally oriental. It still had that oriental feeling but it also felt like you were in a huge modern metropolis with blocks that reach for the sky. It's honestly a vibe in it's own that I don't think GW2 can replicate.
