I beat the first army men when i was a kid. Man that game was wild. I only played a couple army men games, but the first one inplayed quite a bit as a kid. It was super challenging.
On steam there is a game called attack on toyss i think which is army men but third person shooter in which you can build up Bases and Produce units like in rts
Sarge's war was one of my first PC games I played, and as a kid that game was traumatizing, atmosphere,enemies, ghost and environment and ways u can be damaged or damage enemies...enemies can move without head.💀
its crazy how much better Sarges Hero's looks on N64. It looks awful on the others in comparison haha. But that blue tank mission in 1 is badass I didn't even know that was ever a mission on the others! I do remember playing 2 on PS1 and couldn't believe at the time how different it was to the N64 version

Then 2K took over or something then the franchise died. After they took over tried to milk it from my understanding but instead butchered it then left to rot.

Soo in short in comments who palay with game first as kid is "the best" game:p For me was first army men and when you finaly finished it as kid and saw this ending with gate to normal "house" (our world), like story how your plastic army toys are in your room and after Airfix Dogfighter where you play in house more and more wanted your army toys continue battles in house o.O ... Was like wow i want play next part now... I want continue story... But you couldnt get-.- no internet, not in shops, not in legal pirate selling places... You stay as kid with this epic ending... Even till now idk if they continue story from first army men or developer just put idea in traschcan and start smt new on this brand called it AM2 :/ Ps. I alwys tried save my green colegue as much as possible like they were my own toys, lets go guys with me but dont die :p
To be honest sadly, I never played any army men games before but I have seen the gameplay since 2000s. The only army men game like is sarge's war in my personal opinion because it looks intense and badass and you can also use a flamethrower on the yellow men to melt them into liquid plastic. Idk about major malfunction but it's fine. But soldiers of misfortune? Is just a big no thanks is just too kid friendly and a big fat 👎 they've ruined it.
