Konsole Commands:
1. flatpak run --command=bash com.heroicgameslauncher.hgl
2. legendary eos-overlay install --path /home/deck/Games/Heroic/Prefixes/.overlay --prefix /home/deck/Games/Heroic/Prefixes/FallGuys/pfx
⚠️ If you're using Wine-GE instead of Proton or GE-Proton, make sure to remove "/pfx" from the second command on the Konsole. ⚠️

UPDATE 08/18/22: No need for HeroicBashLauncher, you can now add shortcut to Steam straight from Heroic.
Hi JD Ros, will your method work for the new (shipping, on the way) steam deck?
I have tried a couple different methods to get this game to work and so far I’ve only been successfully able to launch the game through heroic on steam, but since it’s not through steam itself I’m unable to work around the anticheat not being installed.
How do you add a shortcut from Heroic
Click the game on Heroic, click Tools. It should be there.

I tried 7-28... did not work. used the 22 from the video and it did work. is there any benifit from the 7-22 to the 7-26??
I followed everything to a T but when I go to launch for the first time (before we install the anticheat) I get an error saying “Failed to initialize graphics. Make sure you have directx11 installed, have up to date drivers for your graphics card and have not disabled 3d acceleration in display settings. InitializeEngineGraphicsfailed” what does that even mean!? 😅😓
Okay fixed by installing an older version of proton ge! But now when I launch the heroic bash launcher it does not add fall guys to steam???
exit steam then launch steam again

You mean the shortcut didn't appear on Steam? If so, Exit Steam then relaunch Steam. See if it appears.
Turns out the latest version has it under a different name now

@@JDRos that file is gone completely i had to click on heroic bash launcher above where your setup file was and it did the same thing
You can now add the anti cheat via Heroic Launcher - select settings on the fall guys, press wine extensions on the left side, tick EasyAntiCheat Runtime - install required files, add game to steam and good to go

So I did everything and it wasn’t working. I went Over everything a million times. It would boot on heroic but not steam. None of the protons worked. Finally i unchecked the steam “force compatibility” proton. And it actually works beautifully now on steam with anti cheat and the invite scripts at the end of the vid. I’m not sure how this is possible but I think it may be caused by the heroic launcher already using proton. There may be a conflict between the both of them? Idk but yeah if you are dumbfounded on what to do try this. Set the protons to experimental or the newest version in heroic launcher, and just turn off the force compatibility proton in steam. I’ve kept everything in the video except those things. Hope this helps anyone, thanks!
That's exactly why I never told to use Force Compatibility on the video.

Well I managed to get the game to run on Proto-15 but I my only game friends list does not come up I tried to reinstall it but it would not let me reinstall
Holy crap it worked. Heads up there a graphics issue with GE 7-28 try doing something lower i ran 7-19 and it qeued up!
I got the game to work but i cant buy any SHOW-BUCKS :/ when i try to buy it doesnt do anything

Followed the video but when I go into steamapps/common, protoneasyanticheatruntime isn't there. Any suggestions?
Check your microsdcard. If it's there, use that protoneasyanticheatruntime folder.
Don't move it to ssd.

Open Dolphin File Manager.
On the left side, scroll all the way down. Your microsdcard might be named as "Primary"

It works perfectly but, after installing the epic games overlay, it doesn't work (to be more specific, it does work but it's completely invisible, i only know because i see the mouse letting me click stuff). any way to make it visible so i can actually play with friends???
update, deleted the files to try and re-installed it but it says i already have it installed and up to date so it doesnt do anything, now the overlay doesnt even open
Does anybody know how to put fall guys from heroic to my dream library
i have a small ssd so i had to move the install to my micro ssd so i changed the command for the overlay but the second part of it doesn’t seem to be working, it says “bash: Prefixes/FallGuys/pfx: no such file or directory” i went and made the folder but still didn’t do anything
The FallGuys folder and the HeroicBashLauncher should be in the same folder.
Move the whole "Heroic" folder to the sdcard and make sure Heroic is set to the new location too.
After moving everything, click the setup.sh again.
@@JDRos you mean the heroic bash launcher should be in the primary folder where fall guys is also located. Or should it be in the fall guys folder?

Make sure that you've done 5:28 properly. That's what you need for it to launch from Steam.

Everything works great but I can only get it to run in 16:10 in desktop mode. In steam OS its 16:9 and I cant change it in settings 😕

No. Fall Guys has the EAC Linux support enabled from its time it was on Steam (I believe the .so file you copy at the start of the guide is responsible for that, but it's game-specific).
Fortnite does not have this support, and judging by some tweets Tim Sweeney (CEO of Epic Games) made, they'll probably never enable it

game works but im trying to get the overlay to work. totally f'd up the last command. tried to type it in by hand on the steam deck keyboard. bad idea. now it doesn't work and won't let me remove it and won't let me install because its already up to date. any ideas? this is how i fat fingered it, tried to capitalize the g and accidentally hit go. legendary eos-overlay install --path /home/games/Prefixes/FallGuys/pfx
Can't you do this with the Epic games Launcher?
You could but it would require extra steps otherwise Fall Guys might not recognize that you have the launcher installed.
On top of that, everytime you try to launch Fall Guys, it will launch the launcher first. But using Heroic just launches the game straight up.
@@JDRos I have issues with Heroic logging me out frequently and logging back in is a total hassle. I already have Epic Games installed so I'd prefer to use that

I wanted so badly for this to work. I did everything exactly and still get this error:
“Failed to initialize graphics.
Make sure you have DirectX11 installed, have up to date drivers for your graphics card and have not disabled 3D acceleration in display settings.
InitializeEngineGraphics failed”
This happens at the 3:40 mark when I try to click play.
try switching from proton GE 22 or whatever version you used to proton experimental. that fixed it for me

I haven't been able to get the game to launch after doing every step and trying out different versions of proton, including experimental and ge 7.20 - 22. Any ideas why it won't launch?

It hasn't been able to launch from steam or heroic for me.
I´ve done all the steps, but at the moment I launch the game via Heroic I got this error code: 200_001
I tried to log out from Heroic and Sign In again, but didn't work.
Any solution?
I've so far only seen this error once, I believe that person solved it by verifying their game files (Open Heroic -> Click Fall Guys' game card -> "Tools" -> "Verify and Repair")

Do not use Proton with Heroic. Proton is Steam specific and can behave erratically under Heroic. WineGE or LutrisGE are the correct option.
I wanted to provide some clarity. When using my guide, the Steam runtime will be active so Proton works correctly because you’re running the script through Steam. Secondly, there is no system-wide Wine that would execute instead of Proton on the Deck that would cause problems. In other words, in game mode, the Steam runtime will be active allowing Proton to work correctly.
@@haxitup This is not true. Yes, the Steam Runtime would be active, but there are multiple versions of the Runtime. Proton is intended to be ran in Soldier, while Steam itself (and with that non-steam games) run in Scout
Not quite sure what you mean by that system-wide Wine, that's not how Proton works.
There is no downside to using Wine-GE, the only things you "get" by using Proton is potential dependency issues and a different prefix stucture, making some games impossible to run
I followed all the steps but give me a failed login
After the latest fall guys update, Fall guys is no longer launching in game mode. I've even tried repeating all the steps from the tutorial and it still won't launch. It just sits like it's loading for a few seconds then goes back to the game page on steam os. Any ideas how I can fix this?

I am really lost. I did all of this correctly and when trying to launch the game outside of steam it works, but I just can't get it to launch from steam. HeroicBashLauncher also doesn't add that one picture which I also thought was sus. Steam is now the only barrier between me and playing this game on the Deck just because of that anticheat command

@@JDRos That background image on the steam page. Always getting an error that it can't find one for some reason. But I atleast got it working now after repeating everything like 4 times lol

@@JDRos I got it working now, it made me fully restart the console for it to appear in my steam library for some reason. Great video, my deck just has some issues
A few of my friends said you could risk getting a ban on your Steam account for Fall Guys if it gets detected this way. Is this true?
While I haven't seen anyone report a ban for doing this and I'm doing this for months even before Free For All came out, I will say do not take my word for it because nobody knows if Fall Guys plan on banning Steam Deck users anytime soon.

@@sant0lamc I somehow got it to work, but then it stopped working and was giving me a sign in error inside Fall Guys, like code 200_101 or something like that. Installed an emulator after I got it working. Then it stopped after that.

try exiting steam then start steam again.
Hi after I open the file “HeroicBashLauncher” and then to “setup.sh” it insteads open up the konsol with code. It opens the Text Editor. Any fix for this to be able to follow the steps?
Right click on setup.sh
Go to Permissions
Check "Is executable"
Click ok
Try double clicking on the file again.
This doesn’t work. It would be better to have a video on instructions with an sd card. When you run that heroic launcher.sh file it doesn’t set the location to start up on gaming mode.
The parts of this video where I'm on the Fall Guys main screen is actually running on Gaming Mode. It works. 😊

This worked great for me. But I had to use Proton experimental rather than Proton 7 22. Can’t seem to be able to invite anyone or receive invites on Steam Deck, though!

That's ok, using a different Proton is fine as long as the game works 😁
