  • More finds from the month of April make up the entirety of this video. Its one artifact after another in classic Points 365 style! The first artifact up is stumping me a little bit. Maybe a greenbrier? if so its unlike any greenbrier I've found. It has an obvious flute on both sides of it, which makes it interesting. The big dover piece was found at a newly discovered spot.
    Possibly a spade? It was found at the same spot as the last piece in the video. I'm thinking this new spot is going to work out! The civil war era bullet found is an interesting find. It's not a classic minie ball but what I believe is a bullet from a colt revolving rifle. Not my typical civil war era find! Thanks for watching and hit the subscribe button while you're here! Theres more finds to come on a regular basis!

      Haha well… before I pull an artifact I light some scented candles, turn on some mellow music, and meditate for 30 mins.😂 But for real, I’m just caught up in the moment of it really. To me, I feel like I can take it in to its fullest in every detail, when I remain calm like I do. It took me a while to remain calm like I do, but I enjoy going back and watching my videos better when I’m not hollering! I save that for when the camera goes off! Haha Thanks so much for the comment and for taking the time to check it out!

    These videos motivated my sister and I to go out and hunt some rocks for real, I made us a sifter and we hit the Eastern Kentucky hills. A couple of days ago we were able to find our very first point. It was a fully intact hopewell point, about 3 inches long. A memory we will never forget, I bet the people in the next town over heard us hoopin and hollerin. Thank you for the amazing content.

      Oh man!! Welcome to your newest addiction! Haha that’s so awesome though man. Watching people find artifacts always gets me pumped up and motivated to get out and find my own too! I’m glad y’all had some success. It always seems like it takes forever to actually find one, but now they will just keep rolling in no doubt! Living up in KY, you are likely to have a very long and productive hobby. We’re blessed to live in a place so rich in history. Good luck on your future hunts buddy and keep me updated on the continued success!

      Thanks man! Found that big blade just laying there out in the open at a new spot that I’m pretty sure is undiscovered by others. So far out of the 4 trips I’ve made there this year, it’s produced about 6 whole pieces. The adena from 2 videos ago, the last one in this video, a nice one that’ll be in my next video, among others. I can’t wait to see what else comes from there this year! Thanks for the comment and for checking it out man!

      Thanks a lot man, I appreciate that. I cover quite a big area when hunting, not just in a day but all together. It’s not unusual for me to travel a couple hours in any direction for a day or 2 of hunting! Sometimes going somewhere you’ve never been can be a strange advantage. People will get caught up hitting the same spots over and over. Someone like me comes in and walks everywhere, because I don’t know the local hotspots. I find things that have been laying out on the open for months it looks like, just waiting to be picked up! It also makes for quite the variety of pieces as well. Thanks for the comment and for taking the time to check out the finds!

      I have considered it quite a bit. It would be a rather large undertaking to do so, which makes me hesitant to do. Just a relatively small amount of my collection is framed. The rest is displayed in glass cabinets, bookshelves, and basically any flat surface I can find! Haha most of which would either have glass reflections affecting the video, or poor lighting again making for poor quality videos. I will try and work on that though… even if it’s recording a little bit at a time. It might even have to be multi part video too, because some of my best finds have never been shared and could be a video all in themselves! Thanks for the input and suggestion buddy!

    Fantastic finds. Being highly interested, but uninformed, some names of points and artifacts would be helpful, especially artifacts. Thanks for sharing and taking us along.😊

    • @Points365
      @Points365  ปีที่แล้ว

      I tried labeling artifacts in the early days of my videos, but found that if I put a label on an artifact, 5 other people would have 5 different opinions. Unfortunately people don’t like to be questioned, so it led to some heated debates. As you can imagine I took the path of least resistance! Haha I just started showing the artifacts as best I could from all angles to give the viewer the ability to come up with their own conclusion. Some of the artifacts just straight stump me though. Like the highlighted piece in the thumbnail picture… I still can’t quite put my thumb on what to call it.🤔 Maybe I’ll just start calling them all pokey rocks! Haha thanks again!

I will go back even if there is a trace amount of rain. The artifact at the beginning of this video, and the pine tree at the beginning of my last video. Found in the exact (within inches) same spot a week apart. I don’t want to miss out on something good! I can usually only hunt on weekends, so I have to choose wisely where I hunt. I keep up with local rain totals and water levels across the middle TN region pretty closely. As far as if I feel like I’ve pretty well picked an area over after I hunt it… I never feel like that! Haha I constantly have this feeling in my gut that I’m missing something!😂 I’ve found too much stuff literally in other peoples footprints to shake that feeling!

      Man I’m stumped on that one. The spot that I found it has only produced a marianna, a few pine trees, and this piece. So it’s def an old spot. It was funny though, as soon as I got there I said out loud “Lord, please let me find something fluted!” 10 steps later there she was. Haha Not exactly what I meant by “something fluted”, I was thinking an 8” Cumberland or something. Guess I should’ve been more specific when talking to the good Lord!😂

      Haha I get that question all the time! It’s just how I am when I find something though. I enjoy taking in every moment of it. I also enjoy going back and watching my videos without hearing myself hollering in the background! Haha Now after the cam goes off, you definitely hear my yell echoing though the hills! Haha

    Bunch of ugly ol'rocks. Throw them back down where you found them, and go wash your hands. You never know where they've been... Haha! JK. Sweet finds
    Not sure exactly what that last one is, but I would call it a bifurcated Kirk. It's definitely in the Kirk cluster.

    • @Points365
      @Points365  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Haha I probably do need to wash my hands after handling them considering where they usually come from! But yeah man, that last one kind of threw me for a loop as well on what it might be? Either I’m just bad at identifying artifacts, or I find my fair share of stuff that’s just hard to identify. Probably a little of both! Hah I agree with you on it looking like it’s from the kirk family.

      @@Points365 Yeah, I had to look it up again just to make sure. I think calling it a serrated Kirk would technically be correct also. They're both listed on the same page. I would send you the link, but YT keeps deleting my comment as Spam I guess. I actually had use my back-up account just to reply.

    Apears to be an old site. Archaic/transitional period.

      I have a lot of archaic sites that I frequent. The transitional / paleo sites are fewer in number. I’m always on the lookout for new spots though! Thanks for taking the time to check out the new round of finds man!
