    I'm glad Thinkware came out with this newer model. I love the Thinkware brand and its become one of my favourite brands that I'll recommend to people looking.

      Agreed! It's very nice that they are considerate to their entry-level models while they upgrade and improve their lineup.

      Currently, the A119 Mini 2 is our top performer in this range for nighttime recording, due to it's Sony Starvis 2, and HDR.

    How does the video quality compare to the f200 pro? I’m trying to decide between the f70 pro and f200 pro

    • @blackboxmycar
      @blackboxmycar  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The video quality is very similar, though ultimately better in the F200 Pro due to it's Sony Starvis image sensor.

    I wanted to use this like a rearview mirror on my motorcycle. via bluetooth and a mounted iPad on the handlebars. Think this would work?

    • @blackboxmycar
      @blackboxmycar  ปีที่แล้ว

      In theory it'd work, but I don't think it would be a very good option. Live-view often has a couple second's delay, and while the connection to the app is bluetooth, streaming videos is done through the wifi.

    I am pretty confused on a couple things, does the camera have a battery built in for the parking mode? I am only going to run it off of a cigarette lighter and that only has power when the car is on. I also want to know if the parking mode will automatically turn on or if I have to do something to start it?

    • @blackboxmycar
      @blackboxmycar  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No worries, I'll try and help clear things up. This dash cam does not have a built-in battery, as those types of batteries are not durable in high temperatures, and prone to giving out in the long-term. Instead, this camera will draw power from your vehicle battery for parking mode. If you are only connecting with a cigarette lighter adapter, then parking mode will not work, as the camera needs constant power.
      If you say, used the OBD cable, which is as plug and play as the cigarette lighter adapter and allows for the camera to draw power from the vehicle battery when the vehicle is off, parking mode will be fully automatic. The camera will also cut-off power before drawing too much from your car battery, through voltage protection.

    Has it been tested in Canada for our winters or what do you suggest for the minus 40 C temps

    • @blackboxmycar
      @blackboxmycar  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, Thinkware cameras are very reliable and can withstand harsh winters. With that being said, it will shut down once the unit reaches below -10°C.

      The Thinkware F70 Pro is a front-only camera. If you would like front and rear coverage, take a look at the Thinkware F200 Pro Dual-channel.

    • @blackboxmycar
      @blackboxmycar  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The camera does not have a built-in battery, and will rely on your vehicle's battery, which depends on your vehicle. Alternatively you can consider a battery pack.

    How do you turn off the constant beeping?

    • @blackboxmycar
      @blackboxmycar  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      To stop the constant beeping on your Thinkware F70 Pro, you might need to adjust the incident sensitivity level. If you hear a double beep when driving over potholes or rough roads, it's likely the G-Sensor being triggered. Unfortunately, I don't have specific instructions for the F70 Pro, but you might find similar steps in the manual or by adjusting sensitivity settings. You can find the manual for the Thinkware F70 Pro here.

    Im not a fan of the toaster for the heat testing. It isn’t realistic. Here in Arizona, these cameras have been subject to 160+ degrees in the vehicle. Then the camera would cool when driving but when it’s parked again temperature inside climb. This happening multiple times a day in expand of 4-5 months takes it toll.
    I have found like the FA200 and F200 Pro l, under the same sun and daily temperatures , don’t get as hot like the f800pro, q800. Q1000, U1000, etc. The cameras that have the entire unit pressed up against the windshield allows heat to transfer into the camera unlike the fa200, f200pro, f70 pro due to the base design.
    Love these cameras but testing for the heat using the toaster method isn’t ideal compared to vehicle exposed to the elements. Especially in Arizona. I’d be glad to test for future cameras though. I can definitely share the differences with the 5 different Thinkware cameras I own under daily conditions.

    • @blackboxmycar
      @blackboxmycar  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you for the feedback. We've definitely been through a few iterations of the Beat-The-Heat testing, and this is the closest we have found to testing the high-heat situations in hotter climates. Do keep in mind that we left it in the toaster for 6 hours straight, consistently at those high temperatures.
      If you have an alternative idea, or wish to share your experience with your units, feel free to!

    So it doesn't come with what it needs to work?
    No power cable?
    No memory?
    Why not?
    Seems like buying a coffee maker without a pot.
    How much more will it cost to get the other things needed?

    • @blackboxmycar
      @blackboxmycar  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It comes with a cigarette lighter adapter power cable for a plug and play connection, as well as a 32GB SD card. The hardwire kit is a small addition. Thinkware includes a hardwire kit in the large majority of their packages, it's likely not included here as it's a budget model. The hardwire kit is 30$ USD.
