I think snail mucin is another great one! I find it has amazing healing properties and really helps my skin repair acne spots much faster and leaves my skin hydrated
Yes in my experience it is very soothing as well, and I have never heard of someone who's had a reaction to it. I like the Cosrx snail essence with 96% snail.
Well i never used the oil directly or a product rich in it , but i have a face wssh that has it as an active ingredient and my face is well cleansed but sometimes it feels a bit dry and a tad bit itchy 😅 but i feel it does work

Hi liah! I would to know what your thoughts on face shaving are, and how it effects the skin barrier especially since it is very popularized now. Just a future video suggestion! ❤️❤️❤️
Direct and realistic strategy on the way to remove the aspects that cause acne are given in this acne guide *AcneCureOnline. Com* I`ve suffered acne conditions for quite some time now and I am delighted to give the ideas in this guide a try. I would undoubtedly suggest this guide to my buddies
Even though I don’t have acne, I find this video very helpful for understanding ingredients and how they interact with my skin. Benzoyl peroxide has always caused my skin to get super dry. It kind of sucks cause when a pimple goes away I have to deal with the dryness. Thank you for the video 🙏🏻
I would love to see you work with ingredients like honey, zinc, urea, helichrysum, EGF, and Azelaic acid. They’re such underrated ingredients that need more love ❤️
For those with cystic acne, even though she didn't mention it in this video but another video, I've been using tamanu oil to help with my acne and it works! I put tamanu oil on as a spot treatment at night and see great results in the morning. For example, last night I had this huge, growing, painful bump between my eyebrows above my nose (due to using Aztec healing clay mask the prior night which I might stop using) so I put tamanu oil on and it reduced its size by about 85%. I also have eczema so for the first time, I put it on a patch of my eczema and it definitely helped. Honestly, I think it helped about equally as much as my prescribed eczema cream (I compared two patches).
what about clindamycin? I work in a dermatology office & it's easily one of our most popular topical acne ingredients. also, BPO (as with any acne ingredient) should be used in a thin layer across the entire acne-prone area, not just as a spot treatment; this will help it to be preventative, rather than a band-aid. to combat any dryness, we usually recommend following immediately with a gentle moisturizer, or even sandwiching the BPO between layers of moisturizer! :)
@@potatoitis3326 good question! with any antibiotic, there's always a slight risk of developing resistance. thus, clindamycin is almost always used in conjunction with BPO to decrease the development of resistant bacterial strains, since BPO is bactericidal & directly toxic to microorganisms (while not being an antibiotic!) -- hope this helps! :)
Most people who use BPO as a spot treatment use a better “all over” treatment with effects of speeding up cellular turnover, normalizing keratinization, reducing inflammation, and decreasing sebum excretion (rather than just drying up current sebum like BPO). Treatments like this are adapalene, tretinoin, tazoratene.. In my experience BPO was always a shitty for prevention, even when used all over my face
@@ElectricHelloKitty true! BPO is generally paired with other acne ingredients, especially tretinoin; with acne, it's almost always more beneficial to use a multifactorial treatment approach, as all of these ingredients work differently from one another. this is why you'll very rarely find dermatologists recommend using just one topical ingredient to treat & prevent acne; they'll generally recommend combined topical treatments to help treat existing breakouts & keep new ones at bay :)
Whenever I watch your videos I usually prepare my notebook and pen to take some notes, but I like it that you have that summary every product so I just do a screenshot! Also, love the graphics. :) Thank you Liah and team, I always get new learnings from you!
This is a brief but useful guide. I would suggest this acne guide *AcneCureOnline. Com* to my friends starting out on their journeys to clear skin, removing acne. Very much enjoyed reading this and appreciated the awareness into how my inside troubles can affect my skin.
I’ve used benzoyl peroxide multiple times in my life and never works out for me. I’m looking for another ingredients because the acne doesn’t goes away.
I'm really grateful you mentioned the aspirin allergy link with salicylic acid. I've had to use more round about gentle methods to clearing acne. It's frustrating but worth not having a reaction. Thank goodness for Benzoyl peroxide.

Learning from Liah and other youtuber, I now look more into repair skin barrier by moisturizing and giving what my skin craves (Krave Beauty, haha) but it's time and learning what works for your skin. Lots of self care from inside and out. Niacinamide, madecassoside, snail mucin, chemical exfoliation (mild AHA/BHA pads + Kale-lalu-yAHA) have made progress with my acne.
Tea tree oil actually works pretty well for my skin. I use it by sprinkling a drop or two with my toner on a cotton pad and that helps dilute it a bit. When I'm consistent with it, I noticed that I don't get as many breakouts, especially hormonal acne
Houttuynia cordata worked tremendously for me. Ever since I incorporated it into my routine, my skin has become so much more balanced and much less the appearance of acne. I have tried both tea tree oil and green tea but they did nothing for me. Honey, especially honey propolis, is amazing ingredient too.
I just used my Argan Rain %100 Pure Argan Oil Acne Treatment yesterday on a blemish on my chin and my large pores. Today I can already see a difference in my face the chin blemishes is almost gone and the skin around it looks tighter. By day 3 I feel it will be gone I like this product it's true to it's description.
This is very helpful Liah. Like you said, choosing the right skincare for one’s skin style is only half the problem. living a healthy lifestyle is an essential part in leading to healthy skin and life.
i used to use aloe vera , neem paste and other home remedies on my skin . They might help you in long term but only salicylic acid cleanser and benzoyl peroxide helped me to clear acne from my face in just a week . I'd advise you all to go for active ingredients

I had acne problem on my face before and i found that zinc is the most helpful one. I used zwitsal baby cream as moisturizer (it contains zinc) and it really helped to get rid of my pimples
Thank you for putting the name of what you were discussing at the top of the screen while discussing it along with questions/important points on the screen!

Another side effect of Benzoyl Peroxide is that it stains pretty much everything your face comes into contact with (towels, pillows, shirts, etc). And I agree it is drying so you really don't have to use it everyday.
Just to add, SULFUR is the most effective for my skin based on experience. I’ve used AHA, BHA, retinoid, BP, tea tree oil, centella and green tea extract. The dela cruz sulfur ointment is a good choice be it spot treatment or as face mask.
azelaic acid is one of my all time favourite ingredients as it also helps unclog pores. it's also the ingredient that made me remove AHA and BHA in my routine.
@@aaliyaalu6238 i used to use the ordinary's azelaic acid suspension but now i just bought an azelaic acid gel from the drugstore so i guess it's what you call non-cosmetic grade? It's a 20% generic OTC azelaic acid.

Salicylic acid is perfectly fine during pregnancy and breastfeedind. I used it during all 4 of my pregnancies and while breastfeeding after. I had 3 different OBs who all agreed it was safe.
I remember struggling with acne for years and it finally cleared up in 2018! That is all thanks to Liah's help, through her (& Ivan Lam) I learned everything about those ingredients and for me azelaic acid, glycolic acid and salicylic acid was what it took! Right now, I'm still using salicylic acid to keep my pores clean and I also love using Madecassoside products because they're so soothing and keep my skin from being irritated xx
It can indeed be very internal! My acne cleared within one cycle of switching to another birth control pill while I was trying to clear it with gentle products for a year if not longer! I'm so glad that my skin has cleared up for the most part and now I can finally work a bit more on clearing the scarring left behind.
I always love your music choices, I vibe, also I LOVE how you get down to the science it’s so important to be informed about what you’re putting on your skin❤️
Wonderful acne guide *AcneCureOnline. Com* to get short, sweet and also to the point about what food items to avert and boost intake for better skin, eliminating acne. Trust me, this will make sense. I can guarantee that this is a helpful guide. Extremely informative and a great help to eliminate acne.
I just got diagnosed with acne. I always knew my skin was super sensitive but my skincare always kept the problems at bay. But then med school happened and I honestly thought it was an allergic reaction. Turns out it’s not, it’s just a break out. Doctor gave me benzoyl peroxide at 5%, however both my mom and I agree that I should just stick to my skincare and do it correctly because I did let go of some of my skin treatments because I was tired, also I am not used to the smog from the city as I come from a more rural area, so it does mess it up. So now I know not to stop caring about my skin and apply my sunscreen... Anyway, wish me luck
I have a combination and acne prone skin and since adding Retinoids,AHA/BHA (1x a week) and vitamic c serum, made my mild hormonal acne go away, plus my skin looks more youthful now. Im 22 btw. Also put a lot of sunscreens! I use a mineral sunscreen for now (Load up with Titanium dioxide and zinc oxide that is good for acne prone skin) I also use organic skincare products. Currently Im loving The ordinary so muchhhh. Thanks Lia!!
my doctor prescribed the wf soap with exfoliating, whitening and moisturizing effect then after cleansing my face with it, I apply an acne defense toner which was also given by my doctor as well as BPO , tretinoin and melfade cream applied at night (by order) along with a moisturizer. In the morning, instead of applying those mentioned above , I only use toner, bpo and sunscreen plus moisturizer . It's been 10 months using what the doctor had prescribed and my skin was CLEARED ! 😭 But I have acne scars tho (not from the products mentioned) . My pimples pop without me popping it or whatever. My doctor said it depends on the type of pimple you have and my pimples are badass. 😂
Benzoyl peroxide just on its own stops working after a period of use, based on my experience. But benzoyl peroxide in combination with retinol works continuously. Epiduo cream has both in it. But I wish my dermatologist had told me to moisturise whilst using it bc once I moved to a hot country and resumed using Epiduo, it dried my skin out so much that my oil production got out of control. Now that I take moisturising seriously, I use it with no problem and my skin is clear and oil production is normal. I have oily/combination skin btw.
I endured this acne adult now that I am 40+ years old. It didn’t have any better. I`ve never acquired acne in my life!! I used acne guide *AcneCureOnline. Com* and within 2 weeks i had already begun to see an improvement! It`s been 2 months now and I have my confidence again. .
Great video Liah. Other notable acne-fighting ingredients would be Niacinamide and Sulfur. From my personal experience Nutmeg Powder mixed with water has worked wonders as a spot treatment, don't know if there is any research on it though.
I think it's important for all of us to note that when Liah says "bacteria thrive in an oxygen-less environment", she means, in particular, the bacteria that causes acne. Many species belong to this category of bacteria, called anaerobic bacteria. Others will require oxygen to propagate.
Hey Liah, Houttuyniya cordata, mugwort, centella asiatica and other different Asiatic plants are added to rice water and used as hair rinse at my homeplace ,i.e, Manipur a northeast Indian state More love and support to you❤️
Rutuja Dicholkar there aren’t too many options when you are nursing. I also like to go the more holistic route. I am not torturing my skin, I actually am really gentle with it.
unfortunately for nursing/pregnant women, options for treating acne are limited 😕 the only options are generally topical clindamycin or azelaic acid, but I would always pay a visit to a dermatologist first to double-check what treatments are safe and appropriate for your skin.
@@pualilia3298 oh then you can approach a holistic body and wellness coach. Try to search if you have any where you live and yes I agree the options are limited but when nursing always go by your doctor's advise.

Liah, can you please make a video on how to combat/prevent wrinkles, ie what ingredients and products to use? I’m concerned with my neck area where wrinkles are already forming. Plus this is good knowledge for all of us to have for the future. Please and thank you!
Great video Liah, maybe next time you can also talk about Niacinamide and Phytosphingosine. There's some very interesting research showing phytosphingosine to be a bacteriostatic agent as well as being an anti-inflammatory and keratinocyte differentiating agent possibly by being a PPAR ligand. Theres also a new acid called Octadecenedioic Acid that is a 'cousin' of azelaic acid and can potentially have similar effect compared to benzoyl peroxide but less irritation.

Can you make a video on how to treat cystic acne 😢
I always love your music choices, I vibe, also I LOVE how you get down to the science it’s so important to be informed about what you’re putting on your skin❤️
Thank you so much Xavier! x
Keeping this as a check mark for myself: Gonna do a hydration method instead of a Benzoyl Peroxide gel.
I use a mineral sunscreen for now (Load up with Titanium dioxide and zinc oxide that is good for acne prone skin)
I also use organic skincare products.
right now, I am trying a korean skincare routine. Wish me luck!
Please make a separate video on all the benefits of green tea products!!!!
Hey Liah. You forgot activated charcoal. Its such a wonderful ingredient for treating acne. It helps alot for my acne skin too :)
How do you use it?
@@DaniFreeBird95 it depends. If its a charcoal cleanser use it as a cleanser. Or a charcoal sheet mask use it as a sheet mask and vice versa.
What about sulfur? I was hoping that you would touch on sulfur 😢
ohh i have no idea why that slipped away!
i just used a sulfur mask on my pimples and they all came to head and got smaller lmao
Steffy Rodriguez how did you make the sulfur mask? :O
How do you use sulfur?
@@rosar.4293 its an actual mask! peter thomas roth sulfur mask
I love your videos Liah!! Thank you for everything and sharing your knowledge 😊😊❤
Thank you for your time Christine!
I endured this acne adult now that I am 40+ years old. It didn’t have any better. I`ve never acquired acne in my life!! I used acne guide *AcneCureOnline. Com* and within 2 weeks i had already begun to see an improvement! It`s been 2 months now and I have my confidence again. .
Thank you thank you thank you for putting source material. You are an angel, liah!
I would love a version of this video about rosacea!
I hope you make video about the appropriate acne treatments for cystic acne on chin 🤗
Great video Liah. Other notable acne-fighting ingredients would be Niacinamide and Sulfur. From my personal experience Nutmeg Powder mixed with water has worked wonders as a spot treatment, don't know if there is any research on it though.
I don’t even have acne but it’s Liah so ima watch!!
The way she says Houttuynia is so cute
I think it's important for all of us to note that when Liah says "bacteria thrive in an oxygen-less environment", she means, in particular, the bacteria that causes acne. Many species belong to this category of bacteria, called anaerobic bacteria. Others will require oxygen to propagate.
Which facial cleanser are you using at the moment? 💞
Liah, could you pleeeeeeeeaseee make a video about rosacea? And if asian skincare can help at all with it? I'm begging you!
I certainly will! Just the matter of time with researching xx
Awesome, thank youu!!
Hey Liah, Houttuyniya cordata, mugwort, centella asiatica and other different Asiatic plants are added to rice water and used as hair rinse at my homeplace ,i.e, Manipur a northeast Indian state
More love and support to you❤️
Does honey normally make the skin purge?
Thanks Liah!!! Your skin looks amazing!
What is the best for hormonal cystic acne? I’ve tried all of these things even all the oils you recommended and nothing seems to work. 😩
Zinc pyrithione combined with azelaic acid really helped me.
Go to a trusted dermatologist. Don't torture your skin.
Thanks for this, informative as usual. What about aloe vera? Thought that might come up in your recommendations
Calendula, I found, is good at calming down skin too.
No wonder bha products never work for me.. im allergic to aspirin. Thanks liah ❤️
Can you suggest skincare with this ingredients🙏🏻
Thank you😘
:) I love rosehip oil! I've been really enjoying Trilogy products even after my skin has calmed down and it's so wonderfully gentle and smells amazing!
thats so wonderful to hear! I adore rosehip oil too
@@LiahYoo I'm blushing.. I actually got into it because of you!! I've also introduced my mum to it too and she loves it! :) (also, cheeky side note, really looking forward to Krave beauty ever coming to the UK?! Dying to try your face wash) xx
@@LiahYoo Also, I forgo to add- weirdly, The Inkey's rosehip oil, Trilogy's rosehip oil and The Ordinary's are all so vastly different. (My personal fave is Trilogy's but it's so expensive) Not sure if you have a video on it but I'd love to watch one if you run out of content ideas :D just throwing it out there x
Hey Liah, please can you do an entire video on how to get rid of redness and blotchiness? :) I understand that through many of your videos you have discussed how it's related to the skin barrier; but no matter how I hydrate, moisturise and have been using oils for at least 4 years, redness and blotchiness prevents me from not wearing foundation.
Hi Liah !!
Thank you so much for all of your videos. And, I was wondering if you are planning to come up with products for Ance-prone skin the future? That would be so wonderful.
Can you do a video on fading dark spots left by acne? I know you’ve done one with Tamanu oil but can you do one with kproducts suggestions- serums/ treatments for dark spots?
thank you, liah! i'm always anticipating your videos because i swear they are all informative, kudos! also, you look like my youtube dermatologist haha ♡ more power and God bless 🌴💛
You’re great Liah!
Those journal references 🙌🏼
My skin is really bad atm... makes me really sad... Thanks so much for your advise ❤️
Thank you so much for making these videos. They really helped me/ helping me now to cure my adult acne.

Aw yay!! x
I second, third and fourth the hormonal cystic acne video idea!
Please do your updated skincare routine 2019.
I’m not struggling with acne anymore, but I have a lot of dark pores. They’re not blackheads or freckles, but spots where I previously had them are a weird brownish color... my nose is covered with them.
Thank you for this video Liah!! I recently purchased Paula's Choice BHA exfoliant and I cannot wait to see how it will works on the areas where I have blackheads.
I also want to reduce my routine to the minimal for a while and I hope to be able to try Krave GBR to help my skin barrier!
Love your content, so proud to be part of the Palm Palm Fam 🌴💚
Please take care of yourself and I can't wait to see new Krave products
Oh a new video!....
*grabs pen and notebook*
ok let's do this.
haha you're so sweet! hope it was informative
thank you for this video! 💖
p.s: are BHA cleansers effective or nah? should i leaved it a few minutes to work?
cleansers should be effective :)
@@LiahYoo oh, that's great to heard. thank you, again, Liah 😊
I wouldn’t recommend leaving it on your skin for two long because I’ve noticed that my skin gets dry. But 30-60 seconds is perfect.
the *AcneCureOnline. Com* system REALLY helped me keep my skin under control on a LONG TERM basis without the side effects of drugs and most over the counters.
Fresh aloe vera gel could help too 🙂
Can you please do a video about the best acne routine for breastfeeding moms 🥺
Liah, can you please make a video on how to combat/prevent wrinkles, ie what ingredients and products to use? I’m concerned with my neck area where wrinkles are already forming. Plus this is good knowledge for all of us to have for the future. Please and thank you!
Great video, Liah!
Btw I have found a serum/mask in USA, that contains 30% BHA

Ooh I needed this, thank you, Liah! I love your super informative videos🤗
Thanks for watching Sofia!
