Thanks for the great video. I moved here almost thirty years ago, it used to be a very laid back and relaxing little city, the seasonal visitors were the life blood of the economy but the local residents always looked forward to their departure each summer. Over the years it has lost most of that tranquil and peaceful charm, progress is inevitable, like a blessing and a curse at the same time.

I am a native. Born in Tampa, Fl 72 years ago. I have traveled all over. Been to Boston, Philly, California, South Carolina, and Georgia in my time. But like Dorouthy said in the "Wizzard of OZ" "There is no place like home." By all means make Florida your home. Yes, it's hot. I even go from an AC house to a AC car to a AC store and etc. In the hot 8 months of the year this the way it is. Never go to the major attractions like Disney in the hot summer months. You will end up in a hospital as the heat will overtake you. Educate yourself with the wild animals like snakes and alligators. Just about any fresh body of water is connected to another and connected to a river somehow and in a way you can't see because it is underground here is where you will find alligators. NEVER, feed them. They don't like being around you any more then you would like coming up on them unless you feed them and then they don't know where the food ends and you begin. It is usually safe around water during the day but as the sun goes down this is when it's not safe on the bank of the water. I am not trying to scare anyone but to educate. There is so much beauty and so much to see and do for all ages. Don't let the hurricanes scare you either I have been through 6 and some were worse than others. As long as you are prepared you should be OK. When you buy in Florida look around at the land surrounding where you want to buy. Never buy a house that is sitting too close to Bay Trees. These are lower lands and it is where water drains to. Remember Florida is a flat land so proper drainage is important. A good builder knows this and provides for this. Also if you have the room and you like to grow food or small fruit trees you have the whole year to do it in. I have a Ponderosa Lemon tree, one lemon is the size of a greatfruit. I also have a Key Lime tree. Key Limes are yellow when ripe, not green. They make a great Key Lime pie and great Margaritas.

We are thinking of relocating when my wife retires in mid 2023. We love the panhandle area. But it’s cooler up there in winter than I think we will like. If we move to Florida we will sell our home in Northern Wisconsin but keep our Lake Cabin yet another 2 hours north of our home. We will use it from Mid May to Mid October. We love walking the shoreline of Lake Superior. The Big Lake as we call it is only 1 1/2 hour drive north. Not many people up hear. A big town is only 65,000 people. We love living in Wisconsin but it’s -24 degrees now with the windchill. That’s getting old & I’m tired of shoveling snow. Great video 😀
I’m an immigrant and has lived in 3 different countries. Florida was a huge shock to me and I hated it for the first 5 years after I moved here. Now, I love living in Orlando. It feels like heaven to me. The beaches, parks, and people 😍
I'm from NYC/NJ my whole life. I have a sister in San Diego - as beautiful as San Diego is, the sun, the water etc I have to be in NY/NJ for Christmas - It feels right to have cold and even snow - at least until 1/1 when I do escape to various warmer climates through April.
Visiting Southern Florida in the winter is like meeting a pretty girl for the first time. You fall in love, you want to live together forever, you want to raise a family.........until you actually move in together. Yup I said it!
Greater Palm Springs area in California. We have it all with no humidity. I miss my family in Florida, but will visit after Covid. We hear many folks aren’t taking this pandemic seriously.
I moved to Florida about a year and a half ago I’m in Minneola because of the pandemic I have not been able to travel and go places but looking forward to it soon as this thing is all over with thanks for sharing.
I happened to live in multiple CITIES..in Florida as well and originally from NYC..the truth is there are a variety of cities...go to areavibes online and use the city comparison tool..you can compare demographics...this has nothing to do with being a small town guy or not...its about taste..necessity...and what you are looking for..and budget..i have been in Florida for 20 years..Miami is urban...so if course it isn't like Naples...Orlando is very urban plus suburban plus rural...but it's central Florida..therefore Naples is more similar to Miami because both are South Florida...Lakeland is more Similar to Tampa....etc..its also by region..North Central South..then is it west or east FLORIDA..hello...nothing to do with being small town....if u happen to be small town you can live in Winter Park or Winter Haven but live in Orlando area ...good luck!
One thing I would recommend is to tell people to put it on full screen when you first start, it is like we are there as you show us the sights. Thank you for these videos.
We vacationed a few different places in Florida over the years and Naples was always my favorite. Our last 4 trips to Florida was to Naples. I love it there!!!
So this is the second of your videos that I’ve watched, and you now have a new subscriber 🥰 so many things about this video are just perfect, I love the little boy on the pier who says he doesn’t care for the social distancing 😂 The McCall guy that was pretty awesome, The Christmas trees and the neighborhood that’s all lit up. What a great experience, and as soon as I get done with this comment I’ll be calling my parents to tell them that I love them and appreciate them. I appreciate you for putting this video on there I’m looking forward to watching more. Have a great day 🏝
Loving your videos. We bought 6yrs ago in Collier and absolutely love it. We’ve seen a huge influx of people and new construction. Although it’s good for the economy, I feel like our hidden gem has been discovered. Coming from NY, it was such a relaxing change for us. I would love it if it stayed quite and pristine for years to come. Watched your xmas video in downtown Naples, you’ll have to check out Park Shore shops during the holidays as well.
Still live in Sacramento, California but I’ve been watching your videos and I’m loving how beautiful Naples area is. Christmas looks so beautiful there. Not sure where we’ll move when we get out of here but certainly will consider Naples Florida. I can see why you love it. Merry Christmas and happy new year to you and your family. God bless
We will be moving to Florida, (Lakeland) the coming New Year. I appreciate the quality of your video, and the honesty. Thank you for what you do. Merry Christmas, and a very Happy New Year.
I grew up in Naples and it’s ruined now. It used to be a fantastic little beach town. So safe, clean, and quiet. It’s on its way to being Miami now. I left in 2017 and I’ll never be back, not even to visit. It breaks my heart to see what’s happen to it. Weather there is horrific now. We used to get great winter with frost every year. Now it’s just unbelievably hot and humid. Those who lived there decades ago know.
@@CultureEstate Thanks! Merry Christmas to you as well, enjoy the cold FL weather that's coming up. I tell my kids Santa comes in an Amazon delivery truck because there is no snow here🤣. Anyway, have fun.
One thing to note is that Naples FL is a wealthy city. The majority of state is not as colorful as these places. Also remember that a lot of places are replete with old people. It's not that you won't see younger people, it's just that the proportion of elderly folks to younger is really pronounced. This might psychologically impact you if you are in your 20's and 30's. When I travel to other states with much higher younger saturation, I really miss that energy. Of course, you have spots like Miami or tourist areas like Disneyish [sic] that the proportion can flip. Old people are usually grumpy; it doesn't matter if they are rich, well off, or middle class retirees. Get ready to have those "interactions". You also will run into a lot of crazy whack jobs throughout the state. This is just part of the culture here, and it is NOT a "southern" culture. They have their own subculture. Don't expect Florida to be cultured like some other major urban places like Boston, NYC, Washington DC, etc. Get that out of your head. You will get bored of certain things, and a lot of your friends and family members will always want to come down here... IN THE WORST TIME OF THE YEAR (the busiest time when us locals know what to avoid).
I moved out of Florida in 1992, will never move back. I live in Southern California. You can drive to Big Bear in a hour and half and go snow skiiing at over 8, 000 feet. Drive the opposite direction, you’ve got the beach. Drive 4 hours and you’re in Vegas.
Now you have opinion or concerns? Give it a year at least. I moved to Florida from California 3 years ago. It was a huge change. Less laws, more guns, no tax, cheap living, extreme weather, hot af summers, sunrise and sunset, southern hospitality, old people, people drive fast and erratic, hundreds of rehabs-and it’s completely flat. I love it!
Yes to Florida from Nov-March. Rest of the year its humid as a MOFO! Ideal is to still have a place in NY/NJ or wherever for summertime. Classic snowbird. Wife and I finally retiring and trying to decide between West Palm, Delray, Boca, Naples or Miami.
everyone complaining about the humidity...that beauty secret number 1 ! keeps you young your skin young then the salt sand and sun ...thatswhy florida is the fountain of youth
Hi there and thanks for the great videos. Florida looks like a fabulous place in the winter but what about the summers? I heard it gets miserably hot and humid and the bugs and mosquitos can ruin one's enjoyment. So is Florida really only pleasant in the winter and do you ever miss the upside of other parts of the US where the bugs are not as much of a problem and where you get to enjoy four seasons in the year?
You must admit, it is a valid point. But I like the vids. I used to live in Delray Beach and wanna go back soon. I’m an east coaster for sure. Naples was just a place to visit for a day!
Post Hurricane Ian, a lot of people are waking up to the reality of life in SW Florida. Fort Myers was destroyed along with Sanibel Island. Here in Fort White we didn't even get any rain, just a very windy day with small branches falling out of trees in this wooded area by the Santa Fe River. I love South Florida, but here in Central North Florida we really don't get hurricanes, just storms. I have a mobile home on wooded land. You don't have to be rich to live in Florida, you just have to know where to live and how to live and you can enjoy the warm winters and beaches of Florida.
I was in Florida in the 80's. But i moved back to New England in 1990. I loved everything about Florida except the bugs and I could never open a window. I couldn't bear the heat, i couldn't breathe, always sweating.. You live in A/C everyday! I missed the seasons and the snow. Even today I love a snowy day and never regretted my decision. But if you can tolerate the heat it is a beautiful place to live.
I just started watching your videos a few days ago and now I’ve seen several! I love your channel. Thanks for the cool content :) God bless you and your family! Lots of love from Costa Rica.
It's beautiful drive through there during Christmas.enjoyed it this year as well nice drive Christmas lights lived here all my life,me and my daughter took her two little kids this year see lights was fun.
Just do it. My sister and her husband did and brought our mom with them. They love this weather. They had talked about it for years and finally made the jump.
Thanks for another excellent video. I will be retiring to Bonita Springs in 12 months and look forward to the nearby cultural/sightseeing events you have highlighted. Great message at the end. Like you, I think I am adaptable for the reasons you articulated.
And you get hurricanes. And get the highest Humidity 8 months out of the yr.. SORRY I WILL STAY IN Palm SPRINGS .CALIF. AND WHEN THE HEAT IS HERE. I'M IN PORTA VIARTA MEXICO

I clearly didn’t get out much. But I’ll save this video and check it out again next year. All the best! Cheers!
I love your video and i love your " cheesey" ending so much. It was very uplifting. You are right that we all have to enjoy what we do have and our stay close with our friends and loved ones. Thanks- I can't wait for more videos. I lived in the Keys for 15 yrs. One day I want to come back to Naples to visit or stay - just going w the flow now😉
I was there Thanksgiving two years ago and I have had a real estate License in Texas for many years and if it wouldn’t be for my having so many routes here and having to get license there I would be there right now. I love Naples and just the idea of the water and the affluent clientele, it would just be an amazing place to work
I grew up in LA and visiting Miami feels the same as LA. Too many people. We moved to North Central Florida to the Ocala horse country. We have 3.5 acres. My point is there is a Florida for everyone.
NJ has great boardwalks, arcades, amusement rides and nice beaches. FL has no boardwalks, arcades and amusement rides on their beaches. And we have gambling casinos in Atlantic City. If I move to FL I'll miss it.
Your doing good I'm already in Central Florida yet my goal is west coast somewhere thanks for the help actually may drive down somewhere on west coast this wknd. See where we end up. Goal is to get that way permanent bunch of financial so don't know ever happen yet is the goal
My friend! The only thing I know I MISS NY. I'm having a very dificult time here. I miss walking around my neighborhood without the use of a car. Where can your make friends here?
I am looking to retire in that area in a few years but as I follow the real estate trends I dont like what I see price wise. What do you think will happen in the next few years ? Will the market tank or will it be untenable?
Nice video! We live in Bradenton and spend a lot of time in Sarasota but looks like we need to visit Naples. How are the botanical garden donations going?
I own really expensive sannheisers that I use in the studio but for the field I use Sony pocket recorders with a Sony lapel mic. They are like $40 and they sound perfect, especially when on the road. You can get them at bestbuy or amazon. amzn.to/2WN2zcx

OMG, I thought Florida was like Miami, this changes everything.
not on this side, its really different
You really small town guy if you really thought so
I happened to live in multiple CITIES..in Florida as well and originally from NYC..the truth is there are a variety of cities...go to areavibes online and use the city comparison tool..you can compare demographics...this has nothing to do with being a small town guy or not...its about taste..necessity...and what you are looking for..and budget..i have been in Florida for 20 years..Miami is urban...so if course it isn't like Naples...Orlando is very urban plus suburban plus rural...but it's central Florida..therefore Naples is more similar to Miami because both are South Florida...Lakeland is more Similar to Tampa....etc..its also by region..North Central South..then is it west or east FLORIDA..hello...nothing to do with being small town....if u happen to be small town you can live in Winter Park or Winter Haven but live in Orlando area ...good luck!
I love ❤️ living in Naples

Loving your videos. We bought 6yrs ago in Collier and absolutely love it. We’ve seen a huge influx of people and new construction. Although it’s good for the economy, I feel like our hidden gem has been discovered. Coming from NY, it was such a relaxing change for us. I would love it if it stayed quite and pristine for years to come. Watched your xmas video in downtown Naples, you’ll have to check out Park Shore shops during the holidays as well.

Thanks for sharing! I appreciate you watching and commenting.
The Christmas light ride thru the neighborhoods. Loved that. Love Love Love Marco Island.

If the tax structure wasn't so messed up in Cali I would have moved there as well. You are in a great area, Merry Christmas to you and the Fam
I am a native Floridian and want to move out west. You wrote exactly what I was thinking!
Communities like Crestline in the mountains are still affordable.
Also, real estate taxes are actually less here than in Florida. Smaller percentage of the houses worth.

Shorts a tees most of the year don't shovel global warming
its hot but manageable
As a general rule, if you want to know the pros and cons for moving into Florida, you should not listen to a realtor over there ..
Thanks for sharing! I appreciate you watching and commenting.
James is not the general rule. He is more an investor making him a source for valuable local real estate insight.
