I'm a transplant from California and the best advice I have for people who just moved in is; if you wanna keep Florida the way it is you have to make sure to never vote for the same policies you're running away from...
I'm on my way from California now! I hear you have to pay a ton of money to get a cannabis card in Florida (like California 15 years ago), but the dispensaries are just as expensive in both states cause they screwed everything up in California!
I lived in Florida for 25 years. Got sick and tired of the "nickeling and diming". True you save not having the state tax but you do pay for it in so many different ways. Taxes on your home is expensive..no deductions due to age. Home oi owners insurance is through the roof....also the simple flood insurance is about another $1000 a year. Car registration is about $100. You pay extra for doctor visits.( eventhough you have an insirance) Especially in S Fla the crime has escalated....they dont snatch your purses..they take you bank accounts.. I moved to Ga and totally love it in here. My home is about 4 times larger...I only pay less than $1000 a year for homeowners Insurance. No flood insurance. Hoa has been the same in my neighbourhood for the past 5 years.I have a huge pool, tennis courts, beautiful area and pay $40 a month. My winter electric bill is only $60.a month....In Fla to be comfortable I paid about $250 a month. Car registration is only $20 a year.....being retired moving out of Fla was the best for me. For health reasons I spend a lot of time outdoors with mild winters.
Try Nebraska, no homestead unless 100%. High taxes, average new home income tax is $8-12k. Plus state tax, plus road tax for roads that don’t get fixed. Vehicle taxes can’t be rolled into a loan, so they must be paid up front to get two license plates for front and back. You will be paying vehicle taxes based on vehicle value for 7 years. Winters suck. You still pay for every doctor visit. I will be in Florida in two weeks. I miss the sun. We moved away from Florida for a little while. Biggest mistake we made.
I moved down to FL in 1994, at 24 yrs old, single mom with a 3 yr old, from NY. Best move ever! It’s changed A LOT since then. But North Florida is VERY different than South FL. I honestly don’t like south FL. I’m in Ponte Vedra (a Jacksonville suburb), and love it! Anyone looking at Florida should check out North Florida too. St John’s county is booming! I live in in the Nocatee community which is a beautiful master planned community. Just PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don’t come down here and vote for the same crap that’s making you want to leave your democratic run states! We love our low taxes, affordability, and freedom!
@@TommyboyGTP yes it has but as older majority Republican voters are replaced by generations of progressively more liberal voters (the millennial Democrats in Florida outnumber Republican millennials by 12 percentage points) over time the balance will tip Democratic. Also, there is an additional new trend that will change Florida forever and even faster: www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2019/09/american-migration-patterns-should-terrify-gop/598153/
Definitely do your homework on HOA's. I was looking at a great deal on a place in a small typical subdivision. When i dug deeper, the HOA fees were an additional 300 a month on top of the mortgage. No golf course, nothing that set it off as being different or unique. It was a definite deal breaker.
@@CultureEstate Oh and to add to that, there was no security either so where is all that money going??? Definitely not a deal paying 300 a month for someone to come in once a week and water the flowers lol
HOA fees are part of any community where you want to be assured that your neighbor doesn't paint their house a wild color or park 8 vehicles in their yard. There are homes available without but no nicely maintained curbs, entryway and grassy/floer areas in those areas. So many other things are so inexpensive that it makes an overall cheap package.
@@fishflash1 Most HOA's are very reasonable. Some aren't. Many cities have ordinances on things that you mention such as vehicles in yards, etc. so most of that is taken care of.
@@TommyboyGTP The money is going for management fees and sky high insurance! The question to ask is “How much money do you have in reserve fees? Is your community up for building recertification, ie, forced county upgrades? What are upcoming projects? Is the Board on a spending spree or giving contracts to relatives?
All of Florida sucks! 1) overpopulated, get ready for long lines 2) most deadly highways in America per square mile 3) $140 / month in tolls using the sun pass 4) CDD fees (community development district fees) on average is $160/month 5) Highest HOA fees in America. $250/month 6) $$$ everything is a “resort” with a gate 7) highest house and car insurance in United States 8) nothing is relaxing here, all hectic with cars going 100 mph while some doing 40, you want your kids driving here? They will die. 9) no one speaks English….. it’s like a different country 10) schools suck 11) everything is flat down hill, roads are small and infrastructure crowded 24/7 12) everyone in America wants to move here and housing in non existent including renting 13) after being here for a year, I’m moving to s farm to buy 200 acres in the peaceful calm Midwest ….. my $750,000 home here cost $250k in Midwest and I get s basement. 14) backyards are non existent … 5 feet maybe 15) sun is ok, but waaaay over-rated. Rather have some nice winters… after being here bring on the cold….
@@torpedoLaw Thank you for your input. I am interested to know if you found all of this out once you moved to Florida and did you know some of it before moving there? I want to know the "real" deal!
Watching your channel from North New Jersey. I been thinking of moving to Florida for the past 2 years but dont have a job if i move. I am a single male in my 30s and cant wait to get out of the cold depressing environment of nearby NYC where i work.
Moved from Denver, CO to Tampa. Was shocked by the property tax, HOA, Community development district. I think the “no state income tax” is a wash with the high property tax at least coming from somewhere in the west where property tax is lower.
I have lived in Orlando my whole life and I am glad you moved down here, it's good to have another level headed person out here! Just a heads up, I have a swimming pool maintenance/repair company here in Orlando if you ever need anything just let me know and I can always be of assistance. We have 500 recurring customers and 7 technicians so we cover a bunch of areas in Central FL!
I will be moving to FL soon! I HATE snow and I hate the winter and everything about it. I want to able to stay active all year round and roam around. My friend who lived in the north east use to get sick EVERY winter, they have no gotten sick since they moved down, they are more active, they get more sun and the gyms are more fun. I can't wait to make the move, I just need to find out what I quality for and find a place.
I did not like living in Florida and found it very expensive as an Orlando area renter. It’s good to move to the state if you have money but if you cannot afford a house down there (which are, in my opinion, mostly ugly HOA houses anyways) the rent is a disaster. In 5 years my rent increased by around 40%. It is however still a good place to retire so maybe one day I’ll come back.
We don’t live in the townhouse community type places. We bought a single family house which was one of my conditions ( I don’t like living in community cookie cutter type places). Our home in 5 minutes from the beach . We would have to pay 20x more for the same house in a nicer part of California. It was a great move for us. We moved to West Palm Beach and yes, services here are more expensive.
Thank you for this video. I needed this, especially when I want to transition this year from NYC to Florida with my daughters. I was conflicted about which city and neighborhood in Florida to purchase my home 🏡 im trying to stay away from the city because of my teenage daughters. I would appreciate it if can create a video of which city are good to live in, in Florida.
I lived in Florida for over 40 years. Florida was nice a long time ago. However, it is hard to make a living in Florida for the average person. Florida has destroyed its environment. Florida is too crowded. Florida has gotten a lot more expensive. Florida has hurricane risk. Florida used to be charming but no longer. I left Florida and moved to Panama 11 years ago and have never looked back. Other than that Florida is fine.
I agree with you 100% It has changed so quickly in such a short time. I grew up down there but wanted to purchase a house and not in an HOA or the hood....and the environment is completely destroyed. people say how beautiful the beaches are but that isn't even Floridian sand. its all brought it and its all so fake. :( breaks my heart because the everglades are beautiful and home to so many endangered species but everyone who moves here would rather have a condo in a high-rise
I escaped from newjersistan to Florida in 2002 to Tampa. Never looked back. Rescued my mother from NJ in 2016 and she couldnt believe how much less taxes and no car emissions scams
CONGRATS ON 10,000 SUBSCRIBERS WOW Its been pretty quick for you, yes a lot of work but still great results!! Love this video Luis, keep them coming I have a lot of customers who are in Florida good to know you are now down there
My house in SC is worth about $550k, I pay $1350 a year in property taxes as a senior, and NO state income tax, because my wife and I live on SS and retirement income. I live 10 minutes from the beach, and ten minutes to downtown Charleston. In Florida, the property tax of a similar house would by $5-6k. It's one of the higher property tax states in the country. So Florida makes sense if you are still working or you have a high taxable retirement income, but probably not if you are upper middle class and retiring. And with global warming, and increased flooding, not to mention more powerful hurricanes, the state is going to be under increased pressure to find new income sources. I've lived in South Florida and enjoyed the life, but there are places elsewhere on the planet that are much cheaper, and just as attractive from a weather standpoint. But if you are still working or retiring and rich, Florida makes sense. It also makes a good jumping off point if you are going to be an expat, since you won't have to pay U.S. state taxes. I've been there, done that (even lived in Palm Beach before the trash moved in). But I don't want to go back.
Northeast FL is booming. Lots of land is being cleared for new construction in southeast Duval-Jacksonville area and also in neighboring Clay and St Johns counties too. Compared to the rest of FL, home prices here are still pretty reasonable. Lots of shopping and high rated schools in St Johns county, and many people take a short commute to work in Jax. Short drive to fun spots like St. Augustine, Daytona, and Titusville where Kennedy Space Center is. Very easy to view night launches from there even 100+ miles away.
You forgot to mention the exorbitant cost of flood insurance in addition to property insurance, taxes, hoa(s), etc. some areas like where I am the tax is higher as they call it “resort tax”. and can be double digit percentages.
greetings from Oregon. You are right..things are cheaper in FL. I was jaw dropping in shock that Oregon is more expensive than FL. I have a 2,200 sq foot home and my property taxes here are doubled than FL. (could save up to $2,500 a year). Then you got water bill. From what I gathered I would be saving $40 a month. Then there's income tax...MORE SAVINGS for me! So did a cost of living comparison and it says I'll be saving $22,000 a year but if I bought a house in FL paid in FULL....more savings! *up to $28,000 a year. (about 21 % differences.) Not sure who pays the garbage bill...from what I gathered it's part of your property tax which here in Oregon I pay about $40 a month. So all in all the only bad thing I have to deal with is higher home insurance and electric bill. I can't wait....Jacksonville is my 1st choice and Tampa my 2nd. See you next summer.
Sounds like a plan let me know if you need any help! I’m sure you will find even more saving later like entertainment and activity’s to keep the family entertained
yes but Oregon doesn't have sales tax? Everything you buy except food is taxes at least 7% sometimes more depending on your county/city. Also, insurance is significantly more, especially if you are in a high wind zone (ie near the ocean....so like most people in Florida) trash pickup can be included in your PROP. taxes depending on your county/city. It isn't included in mine. I have a choice of hiring a company to do it, or I can take it myself to the county transfer station. also be prepared to run your ac like 360 days out of the year....
@@amhomestead3437 we don't have a sale tax but our defiance governor decided to tax the goods before hitting the shelves therefore calling it a hidden sales tax. Kinda B's thing to do especially when Oregonian has voted it down for years.
@@johnwayne6501 its very common for Floridians to vote for something than our government finds a way not to instate it in a manner which reflects the will of the people: IE legalizing medicinal use of marijuanna and allowing convicts to be enfranchised once serving their time. Its great visiting OR from FL love it out there so beautiful!
As a Florida native -- PLEASE DON'T MOVE HERE!! I grew up in South Florida in the 90s. I have seen the place I grew up in become completely destroyed. It is very unaffordable for families (and teachers! a teacher in Broward County is not paid enough to rent an apartment there on their salary alone) or for anyone who is young and trying to make a start. People from out of state move here, drive the prices of housing and everything else up and treat everything and everyone like trash. The roads have become endlessly congested. I used to work in Miami dade during the day and I would see cars straight up flip onto others on 95 a few times a month. It has become an extension of New York, its very sad since the area used to have its own culture. All the old timey roadside attractions and local eateries have largely sold out for high rises. The sand on the beach isn't natural; its brought in because of the erosion since we built up the dunes. I had to stop wearing my hair in a pony tail and carrying a purse because it made me a "target". I value my life so I moved. And yes, the weather is wonderful until I rains hard and everyone turns their hazards on because they don't understand how to drive in FLORIDA rain....or there is a hurricane and all the newbies have no idea what to do. I went through Andrew, Wilma, Irma and every storm in-between. you dont need to leave the state when a storm comes. SMDH that's why everything was closed for a week after Irma. Thank god I moved north to the REAL Florida.
I totally agree. I was born and raised in Miami. I own three homes here. I am comfortable but definitely not rich. The crime is ridiculous! The property taxes are ridiculous! The traffic congestion is absurd. Its way to many people here. Mask wearing is essential. Public schools are 50/50 but could be better. I'm definitely moving. I desire a change. I'm a single mother with two kids and I research other areas in Florida all the time but I truly just don't know yet. I've thought about Naples but I'm hearing you musr be extremely well off to survive and that's scary. I'm going to keep my rentals in Miami but definitely find another source of income. I love absolutely love real estate. Maybe I can become a realtor. Who knows? Different streams of income is imperative. Thanks for your videos.
@@monicablair01mb I lived in Miami for 30years it will always be home (but I couldn’t take the traffic anymore]. I moved to Vero Beach last month it’s beautiful.
Lived in S Florida for 25 years. Orlando for 7. O-town is very nice but the traffic is insane! We lived on the top floor of a South Downtown building. On average it took us 20 minutes to get out of our parking building and out to Orange Ave before we could begin to go somewhere. Live in Waco Texas now and I can get anywhere in the metro in 20 minutes. No state taxes, very mild winters, nice people, great economy and 250k will buy way more house than Florida.
My wife and I are thinking about moving to Florida sometimes his year. This is very helpful information. I will be reaching out to you when we are ready to transition.
I moved to Ocala from New York 19 years ago, and I loving it, I couldn't live on my income living in New York Ocala is growing, when I moved here there were not many cars on the street, now driving on state road 200, sometimes I asked myself, where did these cars came from? The people are very nice
I tried to move home in '16 and was a guest in WPB while searching for a rental. I'm torn now having a lease ending in May with the possibility (and risk/loss in leaving NM) because Jupiter and Boca attracted me while I stated as a guest and rented in Lake Worth and Boynton Beach. Both those areas were very nice and I was in a gated golf community in LW for 2 months. But my childhood history with Florida is near Naples (Isle of Capri) and family experience was in Miami.
Yeah my brother moved from Cali to Orlando. His wife had family back there. Sold his little condo in the Bay Area and bought a big house. Then he found out he was getting paid one-third of his former pay for the same job.
Salary is all relative. If his expenses were lots more in CA..and they were for sure. His costs in FL will be less too. So..he won't have as high expenses now.
Dave Waldon we are 5 minutes drive to the beach. Yes, going more West ( away from the coast is not great for only about 10 minute drive ; after that, it becomes a very desirable neighborhood again.
I've been living in Orlando for 46 years...no state income tax but plan on spending 200 plus a month to commute on the crowded toll roads....the road infrastructure is terrible very aggressive drivers who think nothing about spending thru a school zone or your 400 thousand dollar neighborhood..u will seldom see state troops patrolling the roads...florida is a right to work state do most jobs don't pay well especially in the hospitality industry. A house in a decent neighborhood will run u at least 280...rents is a decent neighborhood will run u 1700 per month with yearly increases..the weather is hot and humid for at least 8 months a year..with afternoon monsoon thunderstorms which makes commuting more dangerous. Food prices are expensive but there are alot of good restaurants to eat at..we have people living here from all over the world many are friendly have are nice to get to know.. im not a theme park visitor but they are open bring plenty of money and patience....I don't regret moving here but when I came here home prices and monthly rents were more affordable...as usual wages have not kept up with the high costs...over time I got to know alot of teachers in the public schools and have nothing but praise for them most of them are under paid for all they do..had 2 kids get degrees from UCF..great school!!
We're retiring at 65 soon but have visited our daughter in Orlando every year. Everything, groceries, gas, etc is more expensive. Really makes me wonder how much income we seniors need to live there.
@@CultureEstate thanks sir - I'm in Tampa coz TPA offers "direct" flights to many cities. Assume most in Naples area use Southwest Florida International Airport is that correct? Also considering West Palm Beach coz Palm Beach International Airport is getting more & more direct flights. NOT including Miami & Ft Lauderdale, do you know of other Florida cities where the International Airport is: 1) a short drive, and 2) also offers more & more direct flights to major cities? Thanks Again!!
Fort Myers is great. Downtown area is growing fast and plenty houses / condo's next to river. Avoid the beach area if you don't like the doubling of population and traffic in winter.
My 2 cents, if you're migrating from another state, definitely rent before buying. Its harder to inspect homes and it's easier to get screwed over because you're not there. Its the same advice I got in business class.
@@CultureEstate you're posting great videos! I'm anticipating a move to Panama City over the next 5 to 10 years and watching vids like this are helping me plan. I'm getting tired of the political climate over in Northern VA/ DC. Plus it's cold!
I am so glad to have found your channel. Your channel will explode...no doubt. You have an honest face and speak with integrity. My wife and I are both retired and we live in Virginia comfortably on $50K a year. I am a military retiree and we both collect social security. We have wanted to move to Florida for a year or so but the pandemic has been a blocking wall. We have family in Jacksonville, Lakeland and in Hobe Sound near Jupiter Island. Diana and I would prefer to live on the Gulf side between Dunedin possibly down to Sarasota where we have retired friends living in a senior mobile home park; it's actually their winter home while living mostly in Ohio. We presently rent a three bedroom house in a beautiful suburb of Richmond and pay a thousand a month for rent. We would like to continue renting as we are in our 70's and don't wish to have a mortgage. I've heard that there are some very nice retirement communities where only seniors reside. I would like to stay in contact with you and get your advice from time to time. My wife is physically challenged and confined to a wheelchair so I have to remain cognizant of her needs should we move there. If I could move now I would but I want to plan our move to make it easier for Diana as she is already traumatized by her illness. I've watched several You Tubers living in Florida but you seem to hold my attention much more than the others.
Very informative video with a ton of information. My family and I presently reside in Long Island and planning to move to northern Florida in the spring, don’t know what area yet. Still researching.
Another solid video. Appreciate the info ! Was planning to move to FL a year ago... then covid hit. We just signed a lease for a place in St Pete Beach though 👏🏼👏🏼. Making the move next month !
Funny when you read the comments I'm seeing a lot of negative ones left by us long time Foridaians! Let's talk. let's start with traffic. I have lived in Fort Lauderdale since 1988. We had one of the best road systems in the country now not so much. Now traffic sucks. So much construction of rental high-rises everywhere. Which a lot are sitting empty. But they are building more. The infrastructure it crumbling most of the pipes are close to 50 years old and in desperate need of replacing which they are because they're crumbling creating water main breaks all over The concept of urban development an walkability is ridiculous at least in a place like South Florida especially because you do realize we are barely holding our own when it comes to beach erosion and flooding. The roads are not wide enough for mass transit. You certainly can't build underground. We drive everywhere. You mentioned how wonderful the weather is and how the summer is a little hotter. really? Spend the summer here in 95 + degrees you forgot to mention the humidity. I see your bald you have no hair to suck up the sweat that's going to be pouring off your scalp. You better bring an extra shirt with you in the car as well. When you go through your first hurricane that'll be fun. Make sure you have flood insurance its expensive. Especially since you chose to move to Collier county (Naples for those who don't know) My parents lived there for 5 years they shut the sidewalks down at 6 ok maybe 7 at night. Very Midwestern mentality. Did you know that Naples has one of the most expensive and exclusive zip codes in country? Port Royal has so much old money for such a small area. Quite Republican by the way. So please invite all your friends from New Jersey to move to Collier County that would be awesome and you sell all the real estate that you want but you little bit more homework first okay?
Floridians that move to North Carolina are called half backs. They were born in New York, moved to Florida, and moved half back. Everything you said is true. Once every twenty years here will be a category four or more storm that will destroy your home. In the meantime every storm will knock out your power from ten minutes to a week. Roaches are the size of small cars. Traffic in the bigger cities will take hours to travel. The pay will be good-for Florida-but you will have to live miles away from your job because rentals and homes are too expensive. There is no income tax but what you save in taxes you will spend in homeowner insurance and car insurance. It must be a law that every car is involved in a crash every two years or is stolen or broken into. For a southern state, it is considered another borough of New York, but New Yorkers are friendlier. No snow, no months of cold, plenty of beaches...usually nowhere to park, diversity of people and cultures...combined with some people who dress like they have no mirror at home. Those half backs that move to the mountains eventually become snow birds and buy a condo in Florida to thaw out in winter. The grass is always greener...
My story is sames as yours. Me and my family migrated to the US from Latin America, and lived to NJ. I'm weeks away from moving to the Tampa area and can't wait
I moved from Tampa back in 2017 due to a job. But really looking at moving back to FL. I live in SC just south of Charlotte, NC. I'm wanting to buy a house, yet this area the homes are 250k+ that needs work with no garage. But the homes I've seen in the areas I'm looking at in FL are around 175k. Move in ready with a garage. Plus I get the benefits of cheap FL residence season passes to the theme parks.
What area in FL are you seeing those kind of house prices? I live in south fl and people flocking to the Carolinas for the last 10 years because they get more house for the money elsewhere.
@@Gypsygirl9 around New Port Richey which is North of Tampa, or around Macclenny which is off of I10 west of Jacksonville. South FL. Is very expensive, cheaper places are not as populated generally in the country.
Thanks for your insight. Personality believe the avg. person shouldn't movie to florida because they believe is a cheaper. Make sure you do your research and know your market. -Don't cut to the hype if you are making less then ~50k a yr. Same almost every state. - Do not move without having a job fixed before moving. - Florida has very saturated market in real estate, medical, finance, IT, etc.( In the major cities) - insurances, CDD, HOA, and high home prices make up for no state income tax.
Coral Gables is my personal pick..and is just a Suburb of Miami. Right now..it's gotten so boring over here in Las Vegas already..that I would probably not be bothered by the Rudeness cos I grew up with it. Lauderdale by the Sea or Ft. Lauderdale would be good too!☺
I have been living in Northern New Jersey for 33 years. We love the 4 seasons, it may snow 3-4 times a year.... so what! we bundle up and enjoy the snow. Winter is really mild and we have a beautiful fall, spring, and summer. where I live is 20 minutes from NYC, one hour from great Jersey beaches and boardwalk. Salary is great, food and cloth are dirt cheap, education is the best in the country. The only problem in Jersey is property taxes and car insurance are ridiculously high, other than that it is a beautiful state to live in.
I been living here 20yrs, in Bradenton and I love it, im glad alot of videos dont bring up Bradenton, I live by the beach, 8 mins away, stay away from HOA's !
If you move to Florida please drive with some sense. The roads are getting congested during pre rush hour times in all the cities since everybody is moving here so be patient and pay attention. I’m thinking to go and visit Naples in September. Thanks for your videos. I’ll definitely rent before I buy and I heard there’s a lot of retirees with gated communities, that it’s a bit more expensive so it won’t be as easy as you pretend it to be especially taken the fact that I don’t play golf or go fishing and that there aren’t so many jobs opportunities in Naples unfortunately. I’ll take as it is and won’t believe the hype I just need to see it by myself with my own eyes. Keep up the good work ☺️

I know you are def right but sometimes the opportunity is not there and buying a house has to be a decision you are 100% sure about. Unfortunately for me I lost a house I had UC, so I had no choice but to rent for 1 year until I figure out the lay of the land. Thank you for the time you spent sending me the comment, I really appreciate it!
Isn't florida a really low income state, with the woman and man together making about 50k a year on average? Also it is the most humid state in America, as well as the wettest state in the nation, getting rain almost everyday between May through October. Also in 2019, only about 19.3 percent of the population in Florida aged 25 years and went to college and got a bachelor's degree.. From Long Island, NY...Should I move to Florida?
I lived in Florida for 25 yr. It is more expensive then where I currently live. My current state does have state tax. But property taxes, insurances, utilities, property, and homes are cheaper.
How about a video discussing renting your Florida home. Also, I’m interested in the Naples Bay Resort as there seems to be good pricing on properties there , and knowing the area a bit what’s the catch?
I lived in Naples for 25 years. That appears to be a resort with rentals. Not something you would buy. If you want to buy something and rent it out, a condo or house (if you can afford it) near the water is the way to go. Inland properties aren't appealing to vacationers. Many places are rented out from Dec thru March for high season rates, Also rented during the "off" season. The owners will visit only when the place isn't rented. Many Floridians like to visit Naples in the summer months.
@@fishflash1 also, I’ve owned an interval property for years and my parents owned for 30 years on Vanderbilt Beach. Family and friends scattered throughout SWFL. Love the area and hoping to retire in the area 4 to 6 years from now

I think Jacksonville is def growing, I've heard good things about Jacksonville but Georgia is not a bad state at all, good weather, business friendly, and low cost of living.

The company will take care of our move. Still we need as much info that we can get because this is a big move! Thank you!
Great Video! Looking to get back into sales was doing the move to Orlando last year and glad I backed out. Orlando just wasn't for me it would be like moving from NYC to the same with Palm Trees. Inwaa going to work for friends real estate company on (Stinkin') Staten Island but it's way to overflooded with brokers. Jersey i would kill it. Get in touch. I think I will do the snowbird idea i have family in Trinity which I like 👍
So many pros and cons on different cities in Florida so it’s all depends on individual living habits life styles taste etc... I stick to California will explore different states when possible thanks for your videos
Maybe 20 to 25 years ago Florida was a great place to come because of the weather no snow and it was affordable but now if you're a regular person making a regular income houses and condos depending on where you're going you will have to spend $250,000 to $400,000 Most development are HOA.Money and Rules you might hate find out ahead of time...if you like the ocean which most people do most might have a hard time getting homeowner's insurance or flood insurance without the insurance you cannot get a mortgage.. mobile homes are affordable sometimes but you need to watch the lot rent some of them could be $500 a month and up and you do not own the property...🤔 before moving go on TH-cam and look at the 10 worst places to live in Florida and find out why..Now its 2021 very overpopulated now and because of the pandemic a lot of small businesses are closed possibly forever.. if you buy a place near a lake or there's a lot of woods nearby expect a lot of mosquitoes try to avoid that..Or have a screened-in patio definitely get a reputable company to do Pest Control inside and out about $140.a month..Fireants could be your worst nightmare weather it's you or your kids or your animals hard to believe a little ant can do so much damage invest into a pest control company... I'm not trying to ruin your video just trying to give people a heads up before making that move and finding out later....Have fun..😏😏😏😏💰💰💰
Yes, super video, thank you. Right now choosing the right city for me. Sarasota is the best for my soul. What city can you advise for IT specialist in QA? Jacks or Tampa? Moving this summer!
Hello! I wanted to ask if you have any insight on fort Myers ! I’ve visited a few times and fell in love. I’m moving to southwest Florida in June but still finalizing where I am going. I have kids and want to be where there are good schools as well.
I responded to someone above about Fort Myers. Fort Myers and Lehigh Acres are getting a homeless problem each yr and crime is starting to go up. It's still considered "safe". Not sure about the schools but i do know Plant City has good schools from what im told and has many events yr round like dinosaur fest, Strawberry fest this month, bike fest, many farmers markets, railroad fest, and many more. Its a very walkable town too. It's located just east of Brandon by Tampa. Im currently looking at Ormond Beach, Flagler Beach areas for their beauty and things to do. Plant City is on my list too for the west side. Flood insurance is a tad cheaper in the Tampa area. It's only $50 a month on avg.
@@PAULY-P oh my goodness thank you so much for this information! I really appreciate it. I will look in to those areas. I am definitely sticking to the west coast but it doesn't have to be SW Florida.
@@lifewithsem3041 Anytime. Sarasota is very nice too but a bit more expensive. Not expensive like Naples though. Bradenton is another nice town similar to Fort Myers but also has the problems with homeless and drugs. I don't think you'll ever be able to get away from drugs no matter what state you're in. What i like about Bradenton is they have street performers sometimes. Last time i was in Fort Myers i didn't see much of that. You may want to check the areas that are less prone to sink holes. I know its around $2k+ a yr for sink hole insurance. Citrus County is one of many areas that get them frequently. Most people never get the insurance anyways lol. Once you get up into Inverness, Beverly Hills, Citrus Springs, Crystal River, Inglis areas, the more it starts to change. Maybe alittle less tropical. But most people from south Florida go to those areas to get away from the busy lifestyle and go hiking, boating, kayaking, fishing, hot air balloon, etc. That area has some of the clearest water in the state.
Yes I agree. Rent is very high in palm beach and Broward counties. Florida is not a high paying state, so I’m thinking that retirees with a good pension are the people who are able to afford those rents. If you pay under 1700 monthly it’s probably in a seedy area
Yes, definitely coral gables is the top city of Florida Florida have lots of great cities, is just different cultures and your chose where to live but all are great and lot of problems but overall Florida it’s great
Yes, can you please do an updated version of the top 10 cities to live in, now that we are over a year with the virus, and since then so many have relocated down there, thx.
I’m not a big fan of Cape Coral. The traffic getting on and off the island is horrendous plus the toll. Cape Coral is just OK. An extension of FM. Try Bonita Springs. Bonita Bay is wonderful
Yes, I'd like the 10 top cities. My plan is to retire to Florida in the future, and I was thinking of moving near Disney so I can work after retirement. What are your thoughts on this? I also thought of buying now and renting it out for a few years. Is this a good idea. Thanks.
I would never move into a home where there's a home owners' association. I don't need that. What I do need is to move to a city or county where there's no decree requiring anyone to wear a face diaper wherever you go.
@@towaritch That's not true at all. Medical studies show that there is no health reason to wear a mask in public. They don't protect anyone. If everybody had the same state of mind as I do, everybody would eat plenty of fruits and vegetables every day, drink enough water (not ice water, but warm water), get plenty of sun when possible, and keep your inflammation low with herbs and spices such as turmeric and ginger. If you feel the virus coming on, take zinc, vitamin D3 with vitamin K2, and lots of vitamin C (Vit. C every hour). There are too many natural remedies to mention here. Besides, for most people, rona is a mild infection with a recovery rate of 99.8%. If a lot of people get it, then there will be herd immunity which will protect those who are most vulnerable to getting very sick from it.
I'm curious what will happen when Florida's minimum wage goes to $15. I'm hoping that with this wage, I could take almost any job there and not worry that I can't support myself with just one job.
I'm a transplant from California and the best advice I have for people who just moved in is; if you wanna keep Florida the way it is you have to make sure to never vote for the same policies you're running away from...

Yes same for the ones who are moving to Arizona, leave your liberal votes there that’s why CA is so screwed up
Amen!
Obviously.
You pay extra for doctor visits.( eventhough you have an insirance)
Especially in S Fla the crime has escalated....they dont snatch your purses..they take you bank accounts..

For germany these are some rookie numbers car reg 200€, insurance 1500€/Year, TüV every 2 years 140€, Gas 8€ ~ 10$ a gallon

I live in Jax and I agree! I also used to live in south FL too a while back. Another nice area not far from us is Palm Coast.
Agree! Trying to move out of this democratic state of NYC to a republican state! :)
Checked your state's demographic trends. Looks like Florida will be a solidly Democratic state soon. Too bad for you, huh?
@@SailingFanatic FL has been a swing state for decades. It goes back and forth on a regular basis.
@@TommyboyGTP yes it has but as older majority Republican voters are replaced by generations of progressively more liberal voters (the millennial Democrats in Florida outnumber Republican millennials by 12 percentage points) over time the balance will tip Democratic. Definitely do your homework on HOA's. I was looking at a great deal on a place in a small typical subdivision. When i dug deeper, the HOA fees were an additional 300 a month on top of the mortgage. No golf course, nothing that set it off as being different or unique. It was a definite deal breaker.
thats why some homes are so cheap, the hoa can be over 20k a year
@@CultureEstate Oh and to add to that, there was no security either so where is all that money going???
I just love the fact that you give such good information with the scenery of the ocean for us to look at!! Thanks for posting!!

All of Florida sucks!
1) overpopulated, get ready for long lines
2) most deadly highways in America per square mile
3) $140 / month in tolls using the sun pass
4) CDD fees (community development district fees) on average is $160/month
5) Highest HOA fees in America. $250/month
6) $$$ everything is a “resort” with a gate
7) highest house and car insurance in United States
8) nothing is relaxing here, all hectic with cars going 100 mph while some doing 40, you want your kids driving here? They will die.
9) no one speaks English….. it’s like a different country
10) schools suck
11) everything is flat down hill, roads are small and infrastructure crowded 24/7
12) everyone in America wants to move here and housing in non existent including renting
13) after being here for a year, I’m moving to s farm to buy 200 acres in the peaceful calm Midwest ….. my $750,000 home here cost $250k in Midwest and I get s basement.
14) backyards are non existent … 5 feet maybe
15) sun is ok, but waaaay over-rated. Rather have some nice winters… after being here bring on the cold….

Moved from Denver, CO to Tampa. Was shocked by the property tax, HOA, Community development district. I think the “no state income tax” is a wash with the high property tax at least coming from somewhere in the west where property tax is lower.

But how is the job in Naples, and the rent
What cities is good to live around miami, except Coral gables, because is so expensive, cities for middle class
Ouch!! 40% is insane, I hope next time around the roles are reversed for you and you are the homeowner!

Really??? Resort tax? Is that in certain touristy areas? May I ask what cities you know of that have this tax? Thanks
greetings from Oregon.
Just don't bring the liberal Oregon attitude and values. Leave the Leftist baggage behind.
yes but Oregon doesn't have sales tax?

Just good? not great??? I need to step up my game!
Hey bud, thanks for the video - just wondering if you can (re)post that beach you're walking down? Thanks!!
Sure that’s the beach on gulf shore Blvd north. doesn’t have a name but you can’t miss it. There’s parking everywhere and multiple entry points
Thanks for all the info! We are in SC and are getting ready to move to Florida. Looking at Fort Meyers area. Could you cover that in a video?
Fort Myers is great. Downtown area is growing fast and plenty houses / condo's next to river. Avoid the beach area if you don't like the doubling of population and traffic in winter.
Why leave S.C.? Look before you leap. Lots of problems in Florida.
Great suggestion! email me for help Luis@culture.estate

I doubt you will find anything for rent at a thousand dollars a month in Florida anymore.
Hi mate I hope that you are doing well.
Thanks for sharing the video as I'm planning to move to Miami from Europe.

- Florida has very saturated market in real estate, medical, finance, IT, etc.( In the major cities)
- insurances, CDD, HOA, and high home prices make up for no state income tax.

Keep up the good work ☺️

renting first in an area before buying is a double edge sword... renting accumulates monies lost in purchasing power to purchase the right house and all the storage related fees... there may be a better way? hotel, air b nb ? whatda ya think? thanks... great great video thanks man!! looking to retire in Sarasota area or where u are... active couple...
I know you are def right but sometimes the opportunity is not there and buying a house has to be a decision you are 100% sure about.

I think Jacksonville is def growing, I've heard good things about Jacksonville but Georgia is not a bad state at all, good weather, business friendly, and low cost of living.
Do not move to Jacksonville. The air quality is the worst since all trucks take it through Jacksonville.

Thank you for the infos. I've been watching since a little while as we might move to Florida but on the other side of the coast - Edge Water or around - do you have infos about this place? My husband found a job there.

Anytime.

Rent is very high in Florida.
Yes I agree. Rent is very high in palm beach and Broward counties. Florida is not a high paying state, so I’m thinking that retirees with a good pension are the people who are able to afford those rents. If you pay under 1700 monthly it’s probably in a seedy area
its high everywhere now

What I do need is to move to a city or county where there's no decree requiring anyone to wear a face diaper wherever you go.

I’m in West Palm Beach about an hour north of Miami and nobody wears a face mask outdoors
If everyone had the same state of mind as you, there would be many more victims of Rona
