Keith has another great tune called 'When you say nothing at all', a Beautiful love song. Sadly, he passed away far too young. His wife/widow is also an amazing country singer called Lorrie Morgan. My fav by her is 'Something in red'. Cool story, beautiful gal & sexy video.
I found the memorial album other country singers made in his honor, and it makes you misty eyed.

He died from alcohol poisoning. We lost him when he was just getting up there & then it was over. He was married to country singer Lorrie Morgan. You done her video that said I'm looking for in red! I think he was just getting ready to be on top. Another great young singer we lost way too soon!!

Keith Whitley had a ton of great songs. “I’m over you”, “I’m going to hurt her on the radio”, “When you say nothing at all”, “Some old side road” there are so many. My favorite is some old side road.

Keith died of alcohol overdose/poisoning. His wife Lorie Morgan had to leave for a contractual concert, she couldn't be there to save him and has lived with that guilt ever since as he was the love of her life. On the other hand, Lorie was writing songs and it so happened that country singer Kris Kristofferson listened to this one and told her to finish writing it and record it. It's called If you came back from Heaven ... tears your heart out. She wrote it for two people ... first Keith but also for her father who passed away after a heart surgery that didn't go well, but mostly for Keith. My favorite artist. I would tell you the story for real but I would probably get kicked off of here. Let's just say, he once loved a girl a lot. Let's call her Lori. She is still alive and was once famous. She broke his heart. He died of a broken heart. He drank himself to dea..th. Idk. Find the song " tell Lorrie I love her." It will make sense after that. Another musician that dies from drugs or alcohol. It's a darned shame.
Unless, of course, the other guy has passed away... Then she's living in the memory of him which can be equally as hopeless.

Far from a waste of life, he produced music that changed country, it’s unfortunate he succumbed to his addictions, but to say his life was a waste is the wrong inclination.
