    You guys always do a great job! I'm up in Reading PA, and ive done quite a few s2k clutch jobs. I'm not a professional by any means just love these cars. One thing I would say should definitely be replaced if you're taking the flywheel out is definitely the flywheel bolts which are one time use. I always recommend to anyone with an s2k just to replace all the hardware when doing a clutch job. On my own personal s2000 I had a Honda tech replace the clutch and flywheel once and he didn't replace the flywheel bolts. A few months later I pulled the trans out and three of the flywheel bolts backed out! Always replace hardware!!!!! Lol....you guys are awesome and always go the extra mile

  • @Gregg0112

    I always recommend a stock clutch for a stock setup. Nice factory pedal feel/engagement and the pressure plate diagram spring is perfectly matched for the hydraulics and the actual pedal assembly itself. I've seen broken welds on the clutch pedal assembly on 8th gen civic with either an upgraded clutch or a factory one that is so work hardened it's very heavy and the slightest bit of flex over a long period of time causes the spot welds to let go.

      No, Exedy do not, and have never manufactured s2000 clutches. Exedy cleverly market their s2000 as “oem replacement” to be deceptive.
      Compare the disc spring housings of the genuine Honda FCC clutch vs the Exedy equivalent.

    John, can you go into more explanation on why you and George aren't a fan of an aluminum flywheel? Does that only apply to the S2000 application? Been running the Clutchmasters FX300 and FX250 on the GD3 with their aluminum flywheel without an issue for a long time, would like to hear your feelings and experience on the subject. Did the owner of the car in the video go back to a stock one?

    • @LHTPerformance

      lcq4blackstar The main reason I think they are a little too light for street cars.

    • @lcq4blackstar
      @lcq4blackstar 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agreed, mine came out to 8lbs, probably just over half the OEM weight. I think 10lbs would be the perfect balance in that application. Once you adapt to driving a light weight flywheel it's a non issue. They really change a stock engine's characteristics, glad to hear there isn't some issue I'd have to worry about.

    I have a 92 Civic CX. I’m keeping it all OEM original. The D15B8 still has the original clutch and flywheel. Release arm is getting noisy so I’d like to change this out. • @LHTPerformance
      @LHTPerformance  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There is added wear on the thrust bearings which can cause crank walk. There’s no perfect clutch apart from the OEM Honda clutch. Every clutch with added torque holding capacity has a trade off unfortunately, you just have to find the one that suits your needs.
