- Traditional Latin Mass at Immaculate Conception Catholic Parish
Cedar Rapids, Iowa
(also known as TLM or Mass in Extraordinary Form)
August 15, 2021
Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary - กีฬา
Update: This TLM was moved to the nearby St Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, USA in September 2021. The Mass attendance and community are growing and flourishing, fostering discernments to priesthood and religious life. We are very blessed.
The Mass for all people, throughout the ages!
and spaces ! A french guy like me can easily go to the mass and understand everything
Amen
As a protestant I must say: extremely beautiful
Thank you. Every bow, sign of the cross, hand gesture and movement has meaning to it .Every time the priest mentions the name of Jesus he takes his berets (hat) off and bows his head. He reads the epistle from the right side of the altar. When the server moves the missal to the left side for the reading of the gospel it signifies the gospel being given to the gentiles due to the Jews rejecting the Messiah Jesus Christ. The roots of the Traditional Latin Mass can be found in the Old Testament, as well as in the new.
@@marciacastro1005 at least the second part is also done in lutheran mass
Beautiful Church and Liturgy
We are planning to move so we can attend the TLM. Can’t wait! It’s a shame there was no TLM- at least as far as we knew - when the children were small, in the 70s and 80s.
I wish that mass is here close to me. Please tell people around there you very very lucky.
Beautiful Cathedral ☦ Jesus i trust in you ♥️🙏⭐

This 'Tridentine Latin Mass is very popular before Vatican Council II. The assemply of bishops around the Catholic Missions of the world unanimously changed , by asking some Protestant clergy to change for the Council Catholic Bishops. Very sorry of this poor action of the Council in that unfortunate occasion till now. Myself , a Catholic from Thailand - the Budhist people in Southeast Asia, would like very much to have this beloved Catholic Latin Mass back again to be offered in my country. How is it be done? Jonged and waiting in sad heart Sir!
I don't know the answer to your question, I pray you have found a solution.
There is a traditional Latin mass near me and I plan on going this week.
Once I get familiar, maybe in a few months I will ask.
Maybe indicate here if you still need an answer
No it was not unamously voted to change. Archbishop from France, l believe, refused to say the novus Ordo Mass and many priests joined him. He started the SSPX order of St. Plus the Tenth. Later under Pope John Paul.ll, several orders were allowed to establish orders that said the Mass and Sacraments in Latin only SSPP, lJCSK, the order of the Good Shepherd.. Pope Benedict XVi gave permission for any priest to say the Latin Mass.
Of course we all know what Pope Francis has done to destroy the Mass of t&e ages.😢😭😫
Archbishop Lefebvre pray for us!

A beautiful Church and beautiful Traditional Latin Mass the Mass of all time. It's sad not to see some women wear veils to cover them self . Greetings from Australia
Why cover?
Asking out of curiosity Joseph.
Can somebody please explain what's happening?
I'm an atheist but there's something beautiful about this and i would like to know. Please 🙏
This is what we call "Holy Mass". It is the re-presentation of Christ's sacrifice on the cross, presented in an unbloody manner on the altar by the priest. During the Mass, Christ becomes fully present on the altar under the form of bread and wine, and is then offered to God as a sacrificial victim for the forgiveness of sins. It's as if we are back in Jerusalem at the foot of Our Lord's cross, witnessing the sacrifice that has saved the world. Every Holy Mass is the most holy, most important event that has ever happened and will ever happen, because it is really the crucifixion, the sacrifice to end all sacrifices. It is not just a benign ritual to pass the time on a Sunday, it is the most important, valuable thing in the entire universe.
Harry, beautifully described and explained.
I wish I lived close to you!
Very nice but that Church needs to try to restore the Communion Rail. It may still exist somewhere, if not, a replacement from a closed church can fix that problems.
I believe the pastor and leadership at the parish tried during a renovation not too long ago, but the idea was denied by the archdiocese.
@@millerfamilycr So what's the archdiocese going to do if a communion rail is installed. The church has become too powerful. It's gotten where people are afraid to make a move because the bishop may find out. What, pray tell does a communion rail have to do with the essential beliefs of what Catholicism teaches?
❤
I would have liked to watch this for the duration, but extreme irritation with the woman in the front pew taking photos/videos with her mobile. Goodbye
This was one of the last TLM at IC before moving to a smaller church. The woman in the front is the marketing person for the parish, and has full authority to take pictures and video to post on the parishes sites.
0:09 swing the thurible…
I agree... been trying to get some of the altar boys to swing it upon entrance and exit. Some do, some forget.
@@millerfamilycr I only say because I am a huge incense kind of guy. If the coals fit, they get lit.
Makes want to retire near there to frequent daily massPlease anybody?
Subtitles would be nice for people who dont understand Latin
Most people in attendance do not understand Latin
It’s not about understanding Latin. Every Catholic knows the liturgy of the Mass. It’s the same in any language, except that the true, authentic Latin Mass does not have any names of saints or any other Catholic elements deleted from it. The Protestants who destroyed our Mass, at the invitation of the pope and others during Vatican II, wanted our Mass not to have anything in it that would alienate a Protestants! What the heck!
The homily is done in the vernacular, that is the language of whatever country you’re in. So in the U.S. it would be in English mainly.
The Celebrants give their back to the People
you have N E V E R discovered the BEAUTI of liturgy AFTER VC II !
that's a pity !
The only true mass of the catholic church. #LongliveTLM. Also a small side of criticism. The chant to the pater noster was totally incorrect please learn that.
timecode to the pater noster please ?
@@lucas17rouge 39:09
@@lucas17rouge 39:19 the melody was just a chant thats not correct during the high mass.
It is not required to use the "traditional" melody to chant the prayer. It isn't even required that you chant it. You can speak it. There are, in fact, many different melodies.
AMEN AMEN
