Beside the ancient theological and liturgical reasons for a men and boys choir, there are musical / artistic reasons, socio-psychological reasons and cultural reasons for them and the exclusion of females. In today's world, of mass illiteracy, and paganist feminism, it is no wonder your comment and no wonder the world's thinking on this matter. I would advise you to read GOD's WORD as well as scholarly writings on liturgical practices, male and female roles biblically and historically and not be so quick to jump into the bandwagon of modern "I think I know everything" and so called inclusivity! Just because a society thinks it can do a think, and sees it good in their own sight and reason, does NOT male it so. This particular choir was founded as a all make choir. It is now no longer that and no longer unique in any church or institution.

I believe the pastor and leadership at the parish tried during a renovation not too long ago, but the idea was denied by the archdiocese.

Thank you. Every bow, sign of the cross, hand gesture and movement has meaning to it .Every time the priest mentions the name of Jesus he takes his berets (hat) off and bows his head. He reads the epistle from the right side of the altar. When the server moves the missal to the left side for the reading of the gospel it signifies the gospel being given to the gentiles due to the Jews rejecting the Messiah Jesus Christ. The roots of the Traditional Latin Mass can be found in the Old Testament, as well as in the new.

This was one of the last TLM at IC before moving to a smaller church. The woman in the front is the marketing person for the parish, and has full authority to take pictures and video to post on the parishes sites.

This is what we call "Holy Mass". It is the re-presentation of Christ's sacrifice on the cross, presented in an unbloody manner on the altar by the priest. During the Mass, Christ becomes fully present on the altar under the form of bread and wine, and is then offered to God as a sacrificial victim for the forgiveness of sins. It's as if we are back in Jerusalem at the foot of Our Lord's cross, witnessing the sacrifice that has saved the world. Every Holy Mass is the most holy, most important event that has ever happened and will ever happen, because it is really the crucifixion, the sacrifice to end all sacrifices. It is not just a benign ritual to pass the time on a Sunday, it is the most important, valuable thing in the entire universe.

I don't know the answer to your question, I pray you have found a solution. There is a traditional Latin mass near me and I plan on going this week. Once I get familiar, maybe in a few months I will ask. Maybe indicate here if you still need an answer

No it was not unamously voted to change. Archbishop from France, l believe, refused to say the novus Ordo Mass and many priests joined him. He started the SSPX order of St. Plus the Tenth. Later under Pope John Paul.ll, several orders were allowed to establish orders that said the Mass and Sacraments in Latin only SSPP, lJCSK, the order of the Good Shepherd.. Pope Benedict XVi gave permission for any priest to say the Latin Mass. Of course we all know what Pope Francis has done to destroy the Mass of t&e ages.😢😭😫

It’s not about understanding Latin. Every Catholic knows the liturgy of the Mass. It’s the same in any language, except that the true, authentic Latin Mass does not have any names of saints or any other Catholic elements deleted from it. The Protestants who destroyed our Mass, at the invitation of the pope and others during Vatican II, wanted our Mass not to have anything in it that would alienate a Protestants! What the heck! The homily is done in the vernacular, that is the language of whatever country you’re in. So in the U.S. it would be in English mainly.

It is not required to use the "traditional" melody to chant the prayer. It isn't even required that you chant it. You can speak it. There are, in fact, many different melodies.

Actually, it is a Traditional Latin Mass. It's diocesan, or more accurately after the recent changes, it's now celebrated at a non-territorial parish by diocesan priests. The music is chanting except for the entrance and last songs could be in English. Priest has recently been wearing vestments the parishioners bought and just recently delivered - very beautiful. This is a sung Mass and it is customary the singing would go on while the priest says the prayers. The Gospel is read on the Gospel side, correct? He read it in English instead of Latin - which is a change since the pope's recent announcement and dictate the readings be read in the vernacular. Previous to mid July, 2021, the readings and Gospel were read in Latin. While I appreciate your feedback, really the stance could be suggestions instead of accusations. I have attended nearly 5-7 different parishes with Latin Mass and these practices here don't seem out of ordinary.

If I may also add, this is a diocesan parish celebrating the solely permitted Latin Mass in the Archdiocese. While this is a very well attended, vibrant community, there is not a lot of archdiocese support and to say the least we have to be "delicate" in our practice.
