3:30 the issue is that he knew he was giving her water too cold when shes sensitive. He knew two. He said two on his own. He did this ti mess with her. He asked about temperature on ourpose to get her focus there. He played a prank on her on such a vulnerable time. And its not like it was one icecube too little or something insignificant. Two ice cubes and 6 are the diffence between sensitive teeth hurting and not hurting with every sip.

    • @Marina_7
      @Marina_7 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +103

Exactly. Even if it had been accidental 6 cubes could cause additional pain/discomfort. But doing that on purpose to get a reaction out of your vulnerable wife, who is in pain and under the effects of the anaesthesia wearing off after surgery? I have no words.

In one video, Matt said that they follow more traditional gender roles like he looks after the finances and she does chores around the house but then in another video he forgot to pay the water bill and electricity bill so their water and electricity was cut off. So basically, he does nothing!

I wouldn't say that he does nothing. He does alot of the editing for their channel along with more of the behind the scenes soicla media stuff. You also have to remeber that they were fine, and nobody was harmed when the water and electricity got turned off, I'm not saying it happens to everyone, but mistakes happen. @@GamingWithABoyandAGirl Not paying the bills is not a 'mistake.' Paying the bills is a recurring task that should be taken care of in a timely manner. If he doesn't remember to do these things, he should put it on his calender or something. I just think it's a sign that he's irresponsible.
Also, they run the channel together and we are not privy to who's doing the behind the scenes work. They both earn so that in itself is not a 'traditional marriage' anymore. It's an excuse that Matt makes to feel better.

They left their wedding early (or right when it ended) to go have s*x. That shouldn't be what your wedding day is about. It's about the people you know and love watching you marry the person of your dreams and celebrating with them and talking to them, and instead, they rushed out of their wedding.

"Traditional roles should not exist" ok but like, the whole point of feminism is that people should be able to choose what they want. Of course there's a lot of relationships with unfair distributions of tasks, like this one, but in general theres nothing wrong with a woman wanting to take some years off work to be with her small children. The issue starts when disrespectful men take advantage of their partners or financially abuse them in some way. But wanting to be a SAHM is super valid, especially considering how expensive child care and domestic services can be.

In my postpartum (all three were fine, a little of baby blues in the last one) he didn’t let me do anything that wasn’t breastfeeding or taking care of myself as I see fit (sleeping and being able to shower) he did everything on his own, laundry cleaning, cooking and after the first taking care of the oldest so they didn’t feel left out or jealous. I’m so grateful for my husband and he is great but I do the same if he is sick or if he has a crazy work week, we are just there for each other in complicated times. I found their channel shortly after the second pregnancy announcement. There were instances where I felt like Abby was being somewhat abrasive towards Matt, but the longer I think about it, the more that seems constructed.
Highschool sweethearts are always a difficult topic, so they both might not know better, but it's giving me more and more of an ick how Abby is trying to grow as a person, getting to know herself better, and then there is Matt filming himself taking care of his family, presenting his songs... and taping Abby's emotional breakdowns. Somehow she always clarifies that she gave him permission to post these, but there's a difference between one such instance vs. one every other week... it feels so disrespectful putting your struggling, hardworking wife on blast.
And then I read the word "narcissist" in the comments here and the logic checks out. He loves to profile himself as this dreamy relatable supportive hubby/father meanwhile whenever she talks about these daily tasks, they're normal and nothing to whip out a tripod for. I can't even recall a single instance of him running errands or cooking. It's like he never matured beyond 17.

19:18 just a note, newborns tend to need to eat excessively the first few days actually… Babies naturally lose weight right after birth and nurses will keep tabs to make sure it starts to increase before release. At your first Dr appointment, typically days within giving birth, if the baby is not back up to its “birth weight” concern is raised as it can cause many problems and could be an indicator there is already an issue. Formula supplement is extremely common

Having two babies in the last three years, and breastfeeding both of them, I can tell you that yes it’s normal for a baby to lose up to 10% of birth weight.. both of my babies lost about that much before leaving the hospital, they do not make you stay. Your first Dr appointment should be in the first week after birth and that’s when they will give advice and tell you any concerns they have about weight gain. I was not giving my baby formula at all, and my staff did not push that on me whatsoever.. your baby’s stomach is the size of a grape and gets a little bigger each day, the colostrum you produce before your milk comes in should plenty enough to fill your baby. Of course this is in a normal situation, not any special cases.

That was until they announced that Abby's parents were moving in with them because they were having a second child. At first my husband and I thought it was just for the first couple months or something. But they made it clear that it was a long term thing. I am a firm believer of the phrase "it takes a village" however Matt and Abby both work from home. They kept emphasizing how they have no time or energy to raise two kids alone. My husband pointed out that they seem to have not given up anything else in their life just to make time for their kids. Life is going to be different with kids and there will be sacrifices you'll have to make. But they seem to want to avoid sacrificing anything to raise their children. I'm not saying they're bad parents I just think they're immature. Plenty of people have raised seven children on one little income or four kids with two working parents. He cleaned the kitchen. Were all these things that he never did before? He should have been doing whatever he saw needed doing, and did them without complaint, or because he wants to be thought of as a 'great husband' and 'father'? He seems to think he's Gods gift women, simply because he did a few things without being told or asked to. Smdh! This should be done every day, not because he wants brownie points, or to look like he's a 'woke' new-age man! Hubby and I help each other, not because of obligation, but because of respect for one another. You should be doing things every day, all day long to let your spouse know that you love them, and that goes both ways. I hope he learns that being a man, means more than just doing chores. Peace

the heteronormativity here is pissing me offffff like its fine if yall are fine with "traditional roles" but it truly comes off as an excuse to be inconsiderate and insensitive. It's such a weird dynamic to me that he gets to feel almost superior in the videos with little snide comments by being the "level-headed" one while exploiting his wife's emotions and not actually acknowledging them. Again not saying I know them but ABBY GURL PLS you deserve so much better.

The video where she's having a full blown meltdown because she's pregnant again FIVE MONTHS after giving birth and his reaction is basically "nahhh it's gonna be fine lol" disguised in support literally made me see red. And I didn't even know her first birth was so traumatic. Sure it's gonna be fine, dude, you're not the one who's going to go through it. Why bother about it. It's so disgusting to me when infantile menchildren pose as emotionally stable romantic family men when in reality they don't worry about anything simply because they do nothing, because all the stress is pushed on their wives' shoulders. And of course if the woman is upset by anything, he makes her believe that she's just being hysterical, she's emotionally unstable and weak and should just "let him handle it" (which in their world means "do as I say but don't hold me accountable"). I'm not a fan of even the most mild "traditional gender roles", but this is such a mockery of the concept of family even by conservative standarts. Poor girl, she may never truly realize the position she's in.

Thank you so much for doing this video. It made me really insecure to watch that icecube video back when it came out and feeling like I was the problem for agreeing with her. They have bothered me ever since whenever they popped up on my feed and I'm really glad someone is finally addressing how weird his behaviour is and how badly he treats her. I could never quite articulate why I felt like I would be so unhappy in that relationship!
    I worry for her.

The breastfeeding thing really bothered me. "My wife thinks it's important to breastfeed. I think it's important my baby is fed". So toxic.

Well I do agree tho. If she’s set on breast feeding that’s great and I completely support breast feeding and will be doing that for my kids as my mom did for us however there is a point to be said that if you aren’t making enough you need your kid to be fed. My aunt was very set on feeding her babies naturally but was not making enough milk and her baby actually almost died from being malnourished and she still wanted to continue to try breast feeding. The doctors had to explain that the baby needed formula for her to give in, sometimes moms can be very set and overlook the other things bc of their overwhelmed and tired brains

The fact that Abby actually _WENT_ horseback riding per Matt's request after her procedure says it ALLLLLLLL.
This girl has no self worth or self esteem. A woman with self worth will speak UP for herself, look her husband dead in the eye and say, "Babe. I appreciate you scheduling a day of riding, but are you INSANE?! I will NOT be going with you. I'm in pain and the very fact that you KNOW I just went through a vaginal procedure and you thought it'd be a good idea for me to go _horseback riding,_ something that causes my whole body to bounce around on the area of concern is _asinine._ I'm going to go to a hotel room alone for a few days and re-think my needs and boundaries in regard to this marriage."
The issue is that society paints this kind of loutish behavior from a husband as NORMAL, so women who are in it think it's normal too, and that they need to put up and shut up.
I don't see this marriage going anywhere good. 😢

I used to watch them. I defiantly started to notice that Matt does not take anything seriously especially when Abby is upset he does not seem to actually care. When they found out they were having a second baby he didn't seem to take it seriously at all even joking in other videos ''he couldn't help himself'' When he set off a big party popper behind Abby while pregnant and he knew for a fact she'd cry and she did. Also explaining theirs and especially Abby's personal business in detail with no respect for her privacy.
