Someone recently dropped a short haired mountain Bernese puppy that was 3 months old in my back yard and he is the sweetest thing ever I taught him how to walk down the stairs by holding his paws and his body now he don’t want to stop I love him so much and he barley ever gets tired HE IS THE SWEETEST I LOVE HIM SO MUCH
A true Bernese would not get dropped off in anyone's yard, as they are very expensive dogs to own! Probably the dog is a mix & wouldn't bring the money a pure breed would, although my feeling would be, any money the dog brings is money for things I need. Even a mix wouldn't be cheap!! I just don't see that breed of dog being dumped in someone's yard because the owners didn't want it anymore!! Sorry, just saying! 😉🙃🥴
For those whom are considering about having them. You should, they are really great with children and they are like big cuddling bear. I grew up with one and it was amazing, the female one was the one I grew up with and the one on the picture is a male bernese mountain dog and he is really close to my dad.

@@autumnx333 You can, they are great with other dogs. And it is a great idea, for your Saint Bernard as well to have company and a friend to play with, but always check when you chose your bernese puppy if they are submissive or not. Hope that small advice helps you and good luck ^v^

I have a baby Bernese and they are the fluffiest lap dogs! they love humans and always wanna be with/by you! But my baby ruined my ENTIRE back yard grass with her digging. So we had to block half of it off.
We were told as well, that Bernese shouldn't do stairs until they're much more developed because of the pressure on their joints and all the hip and arthritis problems they get. But yeah, that nappy its rediculous unless it's a disabled puppy. You gotta go through the pain of house training!

It's so depressing to think that. You could give him or her an amazing life, and all living things, including us, die all the time. Having one may help you deal with the inevitable, and bring you joy simultaneously.

@@monamalek2 When my dog was a lot younger we went on long walks to keep them healthy because they walk al lot in the mountains. if you have time walk them at least 2 hours a day! or one hour in the morning and 30 minutes in the evening!

One of our bernese has some kind of down syndrome and cancer and his nephew recently died of cancer at age 5 despite having a healthy lifestyle
I wonder if this breed is calm enough, with a full day of exsercise, to be introduced to a cockatiel? I'm looking for a breed who'll be protective of a small creature and be gentle enough as a thoroughly trained adult to even have the cockatiel sit on him.
They’re often called a ‘gentle giant.’ Obviously, accidents can happen due to their size, but in general, most of them are really nice, loving, and protective of others.

NOT FUNNY for the terrified puppy trying to come down the stairs. It’s cruel and creates a lot of anxiety for him/her. If you’re too lazy to work patiently with treats and gradually teach the pup how to navigate stairs, you probably shouldn’t have a dog in the first place.
