    You should do a vocal mixing video using only FL and stock plugins I think that will help a lot.

    I Was Doing Some Research and Guys Purchase The Stems The Mix Would Be Much Easier To Mix and Will Sound More Professional Since MP3 Beats Are Already Mixed and Master It Makes It Harder To Mix and Master Again Reducing Quality It Cost More But It’ll Be Worth It For A Clearer Sound

    What if the beat comes in super low but got waves plugins. What do you do without changing the original sound of the beat. The trim plugin?

    • @goobstersroom
      @goobstersroom  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If the beat is already coming in low just look at the level it's hitting at on your mixer track and adjust the volume while looking at the mixer track so it's peaking & hitting around -11dB

    Is if ok if I record with a kaotica eye ball over my microphone in the garage… or could it be ok to record in my car

    • @goobstersroom
      @goobstersroom  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      So both of those situations aren't the most ideal but don't let that stop you from creating work with what you have!
      If you record with the kaotica eyeball in your garage and your garage doesn't have any acoustic treatment then that should do for now. If you ever get treatment in your garage then I recommend removing the kaotica because its a foam dome over the mic and the way that foam material absorbs sound will make your vocals sound dull, dark, and muddy as well (because foam like that only absorbs high end frequencies)
      And if you record in your car its like the same thing as recording in the closet or those isolation booths. Since the car is a much smaller space when you're recording all the sound is gonna bounce off all the surfaces and then pick back up into the recording.
      For your specific scenario I would just stick to the garage and if there's not too much echo in there (clap your hands to test it out and check) then with the kaotica you should be fine for now and that would be your best bet. And again, if you're able to get any acoustic treatment at all in your garage like rockwool or fiberglass panels the better sound you will get off just the recording which means less heavy handed processing in your DAW.
      That's what I would do if I was you. Lmk if that answered your question or if you have another questions feel free to ask!

    Hey, dude, I have a simple question. I'm not an artist, but I'm a recording artist. What is the sweet spot gain for recording vocals? I mean, what gain are you targeting to be in the DAW without any effects? My one is usually -15-10, but I'm not sure if this is right.

    • @jcmixedit3134
      @jcmixedit3134 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That should be about fine, -10. As long as you’re not clipping and you’re also not too low.

    • @SuperFake777
      @SuperFake777 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      As long as you don’t peak over -6 you’re good I usually aim for -9

    • @goobstersroom
      @goobstersroom  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah the other guys got it pretty on point! -15dB to -10dB should be fine as long as you're not clipping. That's around the range I aim for as well but of course it always varies per song.
      The only thing you want to be mindful of is if you're higher than that you might clip so you gotta watch out for that but if you're too low and record super quiet you will introduce more noise in your recordings because you're recording closer to the noise floor so I wouldn't record super quiet either. That's a more detailed explanation but the main thing is not clipping your signal coming in,
      If you can keep that in tact when recording you're golden! Hope that helps
