This video should be shared with anyone thinking about doing a track day. It’s been 20 years since I did them and it’s still the same. The built up tension, the fun, the crashing, oh wait I never crashed but others did. I would highly suggest taking a track based training, I attended the same school Laramoto did, separated by many years and a few thousand miles, before I did a track day. Also try and rope someone into going with you, it really helps. Thanks, Laramoto for such a realistic look at track days.
Hello Joe! Thank you for such another well written comment (I'm beginning to look forward to them!) - Great to hear you got some track time in, its an excellent way to develop your road skills and more people should do it. Well done for not crashing! I certainly wasn't concentrating when that particular booboo happened... ;) You're right to get some training, anyone at any level benefits from it. I either pester anyone faster than me or book school days, plus i've got Skelly for some decent advice too! Chuffed you watched this vid, was a year in the making! Thanks again, Lara :)
I completely agree! It does need curbing. But i think thats what makes Darley Moor a challenging circuit... there are plenty of places where grass can bite you when you're inches off an apex!
Thank you Gary! i've got a few in the pipeline, guess its just time to process. Really grateful for your watching time, means a lot and hope to keep chipping away with decent content :)
Them 360 cameras are awesome for adding a different perspective to the footage. Loved the corner cutting low side! :D I very rarely do the last track session, on my first trackday I highsided on the last lap of the last session, I only needed to learn that lesson the once! :D
Hello again! I didn't enjoy the lowside quite so much, neither did the bike... but its all learning and its why we play on the track. Yeah its not a bad shout to miss the last session, its a hard call because everyone does and you get a few private laps - my favourite bit!
New subscriber here. I "discovered" Track Days at my local racetrack late last season and I am addicted. I am learning everything I can to be a safer, and yes faster, rider. I am planning to get out to as many events as I can afford. Thank you so much for posting this great content. Well done with your riding, you would be running laps around me for sure. Keep yourself safe! 😃👍❤🏍 Randy
Welcome aboard! Thank you so much for watching, subscribed to you too! Check out California Superbike School if you really want to get some pace and improve, track days are a great start and not enough people do them! Well done :)
Lara can you recommend any good track day tuition in the South where bikes are provided ? There sadly seems a few I know of have closed down.. or anyone else if you have suggestions? 👍
Great video, Lara! This is so informative and so well explained 🔝 Glad to hear that the bike didn't get much damage from dropping it on that turn (loved your analysis). I do track days here in Ireland myself, but I gotta admit I'm not at all well organized in terms of tires, spares, vans etc. One day... Keep it up!
Hello Sir Lambo! Thank you very much for watching it. The super SRAD just needed a lick of paint and a better bar end cover. Glad you're keeping track days simple - cheaper and simpler that way - at least you're doing them! :)
An awesome watch Lara. I like how bikers seem to be very open about their mistakes, for the betterment of us all. Keep up the good work. BTW, what's the emblem/arms on the front of your leathers? A regiment?
Thank you! Appreciate you watching. It’s the Army logo - I’m a reservist. Used to race for the Army team hence why it’s all over my leathers 😍 and yeah - totally happy to share mistakes! I’ve made a few 😅
@@Laramoto okay.... fair point....well made...........the thought of me actually attempting to do anything in race leathers, other than impersonate the Michelin Tyre Man, is a complete non-starter 🤔

Bloody Ace Lara. Skelly looks like an awesome mentor.
Thank you Hero!!! - and yes he is 😇 thank you for watching 🤩
Laramoto love your commitment to that hairpin. I’ve set my line and I’m sticking to it. ✊️✊️✊️ it’s a good line just needed kerbs.

Laramoto I’ve never been inches off an apex. Feet, yes. Inches no.
great vid, they need some rumble strip on the inside of that corner really
Yeah you’re not wrong, but it’s not just that corner that needs kurbing! I think that adds to the Darley moor ‘charm’ 🤪
Good to see another vlog from you Lara. Long time no see.
You tube gold with the whoops moment.
Glad you and the bike were ok.
Let’s have more please.

@@Laramoto Yup, is nice to be out on an almost empty track for sure :-)
Great video, with loads of information. Thanks

@@Laramoto Thank you! Looking forward to learning more from your great content this upcoming season!
My 2001 zx7r was such a “naughty horse”. Miss that bike.
They take a while to master but you go 'damn fast' when you're in control ;)
great vid about a track day!! enjoyed watching it.. and now i miss my GSX-R 750 SRAD...
Thank you for watching! I miss it too, but my mate sold it. Got an r6 now😝
Interesting vid and a honest account of some good honest riding ... can see you buzzing from it 😊 Nice one 👍
Thank you Peter! I know what I need to work on. The Cadwell video that I'll sort out soon has a better pace to the lap :)
