    I did that and it still flows... in the end I bought the original gasket from there, I cleaned it well and that's the only way I got rid of the oil leak from there! temporarily solve with silicone but only temporarily!

    Do you need to drain the sump first though ?

      it is not necessary because it is in the upper part of the engine

    Salut am o trebare am si eu un bmw 530xd e61 si miau zis ca ar trebui sa schimb si eu pompa daca merg sa cu ia ce se poate întâmpla?

      pierderile de ulei se scurg pe furtunul de antigel de la termostat si cel subtire si cel gros, il pot inmuia si se poate sparge, in rest daca nu te deranjeaza petele de ulei o poti lasa asa.

    Hi mate, i did the exact same thing on my bmw m57 engine. Nothing was wrong at all apart from oil leaking from the vacuum pump... since doing it, i have been getting break warning lights and my brake pedal has gone hard as if there is a brake cylinder fault or no vacuum leak. So you have any ideas what the problem could be?

      Resume the repair process, check that sealing silicone has not penetrated the vanes of the vacuum pump

      @JHAMS-car-repair thanks for the reply, I have taken it apart to check it and everything is okay. I didn't use sealant, I just used a new gasket and it is sealed well. Do you have any other ideas?

      @JHAMS-car-repair I have done mate. Within 10 minutes of driving, the break pedal is hard again. For the first 10 minutes it is okay.

    oil will be penetrating silicon and silicon will be coming into the oil

      I hope not, it's the same silicone used in the oil pan in the N47 engines which no longer have a gasket but only silicone and which are already 10 years old and this has not happened.

      Bro i did it in my m47 it’s ok for the moment( oil is not leaking there anymore)i hope silicon don’t get in because i put litle more than you haha..
      For all than didn’t did it allready. carrefull with that.

      It's not a matter of quantity, the vacuum pump has a problem if it blocks the pallets, if it works, you can be sure that there will be no problems in the next 4-5 years.

    I replaced the gaskets, put everything back and when i started the engine I heard a sound “click”. Brake went hard. Vacuum pump broke (the inside metal bent) idk what went wrong

    Salut gata am rezolvat cu pompa am pus tot la loc dar am observat pe acea placuta un vopsit un cerc verde si o dunga sub cerc acoo am pus si eu cu dunga aia de sub cerc in jos. Conteaza cum o pui ? Multumesc

      @@claudiulung5067 da la pompa de fata bmw x3 e83 da sa rezolvat am schimbat ambele garnituri si de pe marginea care intra in blocul motor spre arborele cotit si am schimbat si garnitura de sub acel capac
