The treadmill works because it forces you to go beyond you would on your own. Ur body gets used the demand in oxygen and your leg muscles are being built. Go for it. Push hard and then slow if u must. Repeat

I found a good way to increase stamina was this (it was the fitness requirement for when I enlisted for the military)
Warm up for 2 minutes between 3.0 - 6.0. After 2 minutes start at 6.0 and adding 0.3 every 30 seconds, do this as much as you can. Try and find your limits (try at least 10 minutes). Once you learn how long you can go, you try to hit that timestamp every day until you find that it’s gotten easier, then push yourself for another minute (or two). Then hit that every day until that gets easier. Continue this and you will see that you have gotten much better, in a relatively short amount of time. Good luck to all

      "warm up for 2 minutes"
      - 2 minutes? What amount of warming up could the body achieve in 2 minutes? As an endurance runner, I spend 15 minutes doing mobility exercises and dynamic stretches, then I spend 20 minutes doing a fast walk/slow jog/fast strides, then I get into my long run. Even if I'm doing a strides (cardio) session, I still do steps 1 and 2 first.

Good video. I always thought tying my shoes nice and tight was good, until I got extensor tendonitis. Basically tying shoes too tight (or wearing shoes that are too tight or small) and running with a lot of incline irritates the tendons on top of your foot, basically pinching them against your foot. This can be quite painful. I thought it was my toe and could barely walk for a few days. After loosening the shoe laces and reducing the incline to only some days the pain almost disappeared over night.

0:22 "you want to make sure your shoes are tied up nice and tight". Ahh, be very careful on that one. If your shoes are too tight, this will restrict foot and ankle range of motion and will load up your calf muscles. This happened to me years ago and I was told to loosen my shoe laces to allow for foot and ankle range of motion. After the adjustment, this has never happened again.

    Stamina is essential.
It doesn't matter how good your skills are or how smart you are if you don't have the fitness required to be in the right spot at the right time.
To increase your stamina use this treadmill method:
    10 minutes per day
Start at 3.0 and work your way to 10.0
Increase the running speed every minute.

1:12 "this is a waste of time". Ahh, no it's not. Before getting into fast strides you want to make sure your legs are completely warmed up and this cannot be achieved by simply doing leg swings. Sure, if you do a bike session beforehand then that will go some way, but doing a 30 minute jog will build up your aerobic base which is needed before building up your anaerobic base. Not doing an adequate warm up before a strides session is asking for an injury.

    • @80teg
      @80teg 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

The world's most popular team sports involve explosive movements (ie: soccer, basketball, rugby, Am. football, hockey) -- its not that long distance running is useless; its just more efficient to train for explosion, strength, agility, quickness, then add sport-specific endurance training. In case thats not clear, a couple examples:
      - Ice hockey shifts are about 30-70 seconds long... so its far more efficient to train in minute long bursts, with minute long rests
      - Basketball has a lot of down time (fouls, timeouts, out of bounds plays, etc) and a shorter court (90 feet).... so again, training explosiveness will address the endurance you need. No basketball player needs to be able to run at 60% for 45 minutes. It helps, but its less vital than being able to sprint full speed for 3 seconds every 10 seconds.

As long as your tracking your calories when you eat, and have weight training days, you should be fine. This is because, if you eat less than you burn, you will lose too much weight and mass, your gonna look skinny as hell.

Lol I'm not sure to be honest - but just do it on feeling it's usually just an increase in number like - 4 - 4.1 - 4.2 - 4.3 - so you will find the speed thats normal running pace then work into it.

Each different mph is one minute long btw!
    First day:
    1st try:
    0:00-3:58
    3 mph to 5 mph
    2nd Try:
    0:00 - 4:11
    3 mph to 6 mph
(I did this in a row)
That’s all for the first day!
    (Since I have low stamina)
I’ll be back to update you guys on the second day!
