    • @ozanozenir2503

      @@jaghond448 no thats wrong actually. Back in ancient egypt they believed that if a person wants to return from death they have to have an accurate statue of their body or face and have their dead bodies turned into a mummy. This was an expensive ritual and only the rich could do it. But if you see a realistic statue of an important person in ancient egypt it HAS to be how they look like. Otherwise they wont return from death XD. So these statues were actually a religious thing rather than just a show off.

      Because that is how the Ancient Egyptians made the bust in 1345 BCE. The one the archaeologist, I presume, is showing is a replica.

    • @free22
      @free22 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Youssef Tamer Yes, but those are modern Egyptians. They really are making a wild guess at trying to figure out what Nefertiti’s skin shade looked like then. Probably not like modern Egyptians.

    • @free22
      @free22 3 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Youssef Tamer Actually, dna of mummies found in Egypt is different than that of modern Egypt but that is not the really the point. Mummies may not reflect broader ancient Egyptian dna. Thousands of years have passed. Why would you think that something like skin color which can be changed in a few generations would be the same? That is a huge assumption. Without more genetic information about ancient Egyptians, we don’t really know the skin color or colors of the majority of ancient Egyptians.

    • @free22
      @free22 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Youssef Tamer Proof of what? That skin color has remained the same over thousands of years? We don’t have that kind of dna evidence. Just google ancient Egypt dna and read the first article on Wikipedia. But an article on mummy dna isn’t going to help you with determining the people’s exact skin shade. Given the number of people who have entered Egypt from Arab countries and Subsaharan Africa in the last couple thousand years, I’m surprised that you would expect skin color to remain constant.

    • @free22
      @free22 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Youssef Tamer I suspect that ancient Egyptians would probably laugh at the modern fixation on skin color anyway.
