- Paul Romero, the original composer of Heroes of Might and Magic, has joined HotA Crew to create the musical theme for the upcoming Factory town, left unfinished after the untimely demise of Docent Picolan. In this video, Paul addresses the community and shares a few measures from his first idea of the new theme.

@@inferionemperor5219 Какой украл? Ты вообще знаешь, что такое музыкальные библиотеки и библиотеки сэмплов, и как они используются? Это свободные библиотеки, их использовали многие композиторы, и треки с мелодиями оттуда можно встретить во многих играх и не только. Пол сам в интервью говорил, что сроки разработки ХОММ4 были крайне сжатыми, поэтому часть треков оригинальная, а часть слеплена из этих библиотек. Так что фигню не говори.

This is so cool. I've loved Paul Romero's work for decades and have been following Horn of the Abyss's development for years. Seeing them officially work together is a dream come true. I'm sad about the passing of Docent Picolan but I think he'd be happy to hear about this. Best of luck with the work, everyone! You're awesome!

I don't play Horn of the Abyss but this is so amazing that Paul Romero would do this for the Heroes community. What a legend. I mean how cool is it that the original composer of the game's soundtrack way back in the late 1990s would work with a 2020s modding HoTA crew to compose the soundtrack for the new Factory faction.
I recently got back into the Restoration of Erathia version of Heroes III during lockdown and forgot how iconic the music for this game is, as well as the other Heroes games too. The theme sounds so in keeping with the epic melodies of the other town themes. Honestly, if I were making a major fantasy TV series right now I would sign up Romero in a shot.
I wish the Heroes franchise could somehow be extracted from Ubisoft (hopefully someone will buy it someday) and a proper Heroes VIII could be given the time and resources it needs to be the game everyone in the community knows it could be.
It's tragic to see what has happened to such an amazing franchise that I have such strong memories of in my childhood, with these new crappy mobile games - it's an insult to the original creators of the game, not least Romero. Until then it makes me happy to see that people still play the game and that with the HoTA crew it's still evolving with new content, balances, and refinements. I need to find my old disc and get it!

I just found out recently, that the lead designer of homm 3, is actually in the early stages of making his own spiritual successor to homm 3, he writes a monthly newsletter about the game and answers homm 3 related questions too. Here's a link to his website www.fanstratics.com/

Sometimes miracles happen even in the darkest of times. Thank you very much Paul for backing up the HoTA crew. After the tragic passing of Docent Picolan this really looks like a true Christmas miracle to me and many HOMM3 fans all over the world.

I have to admit, Docent Picolan's sudden passing was the only truly hard hit I had from 2020 with its' almost meme-like ridiculous death count. It's very inspiring to see though how tragedy can bring people that share the same passion together.

Dear Paul, I will take this chance to say to you how much I admire your work on Heroes of Might & Magic 3.
I knew the game back in 1999/2000 from the demo version that came on a CD that I randomly got from a friend, I was 11yo I believe.
Once I started playing, even though I couldn't understand the game, I was so drawn into it, such beautiful world, so incredibly well represented by it's design and aesthetics, but more importantly of all, THE MUSIC... man, I still remember to this day those strong feelings I had 20 years ago, and still have of course, but childhood is different thant adulthood, that game changed my life and you are one of the big reasons for that.
The music is so hypnotic at times, it's so charmful and poetic, made by pure passion, it made me feel like an adult, I don't know why, maybe because it brings you in touch with deep emotions... It is like reading Edgar Allan Poe, but maybe better. It fits PERFECTLY into the world of Heroes 3. It has a lot of elements and a huge soul into it, that game makes me wish to live in that world, it is so beautiful.
No doubt Heroes 3 is my most beloved game, next to Diablo 2. I have passed more hours into H3 than on any other game. And I couldn't be happier that the H3 community is still so alive so we can have such a great team as HotA still improving it and adding stuff to make it richer and richer. And of course I cannot express enough how good this simple video is. I am REALLY happy to see you, one of the core devs of the original, working into HotA... it is almost unbelievable, it is a kind of a miracle, I have never ever seen an original dev working on a mod that is so professionally done. It is a dream to know we will have more original songs.
So thank you a lot man.
