it's like a Beatles song, honestly. I love how Jack didn't stick to the same formula all the time and made some exceptions to their usual, much heavier sound. These cute 'exceptions' now have become an unreplacable part of their sound, that i couldn't live without. I love this song too and I think Paul McCartney wishes he wrote it lol
Brother and sister, playing Rock n' Roll and doing it on the road. Thank you Jack White for the fiber optic Jesus that you gave me. It shined so bright that I couldn't help believing it could save me.
Man that was such a magic time for those two musically. Every note, every beat, every word no matter how flawed or well done was absolutely perfect. They could do no wrong. I was fortunate enough to see them on two separate tours at the Greek in LA for White blood cells and Elephant and quality wise in a rock and roll sense the only live band I have seen that I could compare it to is AC/DC in the sense that every single song was great and was better live than the studio versions.
The performance of Death Letter live at the Greek where he becomes so intense that he practically pushes Meg off her kit at the end is one of the best live performances of any song ever.
@@jetsamperes5762 My wife and I saw them at the Greek in LA for the Elephant and Get behind me Satan tours and the shows were phenomenal. Watching JW on stage then was like really watching someone work. He did not play, he worked his ass off. One song he broke two strings and you couldn't even tell he was down to 4 strings. Just giving it his all. We saw him just a couple years ago in San Diego and he was very good but those years with Meg were truly special.
Cindy... i was blessed to be introduced by a friend maybe 20 years ago. but regardless... they are such an amazing duo and worth any effort to explore..... much love, enjoy. i wish you smiles enduring.
@Me, Also Me I'm not really sure what year their stuff was classified officially as psychedelic, but I'm thinking before that. Some of the Beatles style spans all of it though and Apple Blossom shares some similarities(in a good way) in my humble opinion. I miss a certain simplicity that's pleasing to the ear in music. Seems like everything's overproduced in rock-n-roll for some time now. (White Stripes excepted)
5? What’s the bad one? Debut, get behind me satan, or icky thump? I think the debut is the worst (ofc it is it’s the first) but it’s really repetitive every song sounds the same
Be sure to watch death letter from the ‘under blackpool lights’ show! One of my fav songs by white stripes, I’m sure it is on TH-cam. Respond after you watched it ;)
This is greatness! An early White Stripes Detroit TV 📺 appearance! They were really getting big and popular. Bigger than Detroit! They busted out of the Detroit scene and started touring the World 🌎. The other Detroit Bands went nowhere. There really wasn’t much of a scene. Only the White Stripes made it big! Even the late Great DJ John Peel was impressed with the Stripes. He did a great Peel session with them for Posterity! The Stripes played like they were on fire! This is what TH-cam is for! To capture and show rare footage you can’t see anywhere else! Thanks for uploading it!
Meg White! Meg White not talking! Meg White playing the bells while banging the drums in Red Rain! Meg White whispering “This fits me perfect”! Meg White crying next to Jack when he plays White Moon! Meg White wearing pigtails! Meg White saying she’s quiet! Meg White playing the keyboard in In The Cold Cold Night! Meg White smoking! Meg White wearing red pants! Meg White petting a rat! Meg White singing Rated X completely! Meg White bowing when she says, Hello! Meg White laughing loudly! WHY IS IT THAT I CAN’T STOP THINKING ABOUT MEG WHITE???!!! #MegWhite
Meg White playing with one hand while the other sits on her hip. Meg White never missing a cue even without a setlist. That time Meg refused to play Aluminum live in Canada and Jack had to change the song. Meg White having an anxiety disorder but still playing festivals and live TV in a two person band. Meg White leaving fame behind on her terms while on top and never looking back.
They broke up the band because meg was have issues with anxiety when they were in Canada (under great white northern lights) that’s why part of the Canada tour was cancelled. But I hope they’re both alright
I actually saw the White Stripes play in Detroit in 1999. I went back to Michigan with my dad when his dad was in the hospital with stomach cancer. It was after my grandfather passed away that me and dad took a trip to Detroit and we ended up seeing the White Stripes play.
"Apple Blossom" Hey little apple blossom What seems to be the problem? All the ones you tell your troubles to They don't really care for you Come and tell me what you're thinking Cause just when the boat is sinking A little light is blinking And I will come and rescue you Lots of girls walk around in tears But that's not for you You've been looking all around for years For someone to tell your troubles to Come and sit with me and talk awhile Let me see your pretty little smile Put your troubles in a little pile And I will sort them out for you Lots of girls walk around in tears But that's not for you You've been looking all around for years For someone to tell your troubles to I'll fall in love with you I think I'll marry you
Didn't they tho? Under great northern ligbts, lotsa concert and travel footage. Or you thinking Jack W should see what kind of movie would come outta his head. Like Rob Zombo did.
its weird hearing Jack use less effects during this song...like, he actually played it the way it is on the album, instead of his usual "live show" amp-up...
Apple Blossom is one of my favorite songs, the lyrics and melody are so delicate and sweet

Man they're so young
I know right never seen them this young aside from their debut album cover
The absolute disrespect of rolling the credits during Death Letter. Just two years later, that never would have happened.
AND CUTTING OFF FOR THE SPONSOR OH GOD JUST LET THE SONG PLAY OUT
eye roll.
I mean... years later, that's probably as much spotlight as Assistant to the Producer Stephen W. Pagonas has ever gotten. Go, Stephen!
*Whitestripes channel posts a new video*
Me: Don't do that. Don't give me hope
I would probably say there's a greater chance of a reunion than most people think. You never know with them

Yeah. Your right. But you never know
We're so lucky Jack and Meg met.
Weren’t they like siblings
@@scortch1418 no they said they were sibling So that people don't talk about them and focus on the music they were for a breif period married
@@babablacksphee So this dude married his sister?? I thought they were from Detroit not Appalachia. :-)

@Cliff Leatherby KOL
God, they look like babies!
thank you..you’re right..now i won’t repeat what you wrote..I saw and though of the same thing bout ASAP...Ohhh the dang time travel...

My all time favorite band from high school!
Right on
Miss them 😭
Jack still makes music
Jurga Mikšytė I do like jack’s music but I miss them as a band
Female, 68, just found this band!!!! Unbelievably outrageous!!!! ✌
Cindy ! Welcome ! I have so many videos of theirs I'd like to recommend ! Check them on Saturday Night Live as well as Under Blackpool Lights !
I'm 69. Giggity!

Apple Blossom kind of reminds me of older Beatles stuff.

That’s probs because it’s a 12 bar blues more or less and it’s very common in songs and the beatles also used 12 bar blues in their songs
Probably one of the most under appreciated bands of the past 20 yrs. Not many bands kick out 5 kickass albums.... and to do it as a 2 pc
5? What’s the bad one? Debut, get behind me satan, or icky thump? I think the debut is the worst (ofc it is it’s the first) but it’s really repetitive every song sounds the same
They are almost as good as the Black Keys!
From the songs to the album cover, De Stijl is damn great!
Wow,24 years ago... But hey, good news for ya: there's no reason to miss them, their music doesn't get old. ❤
Death Letter is new to me... It has a Red House blues sound to it. it is great! Thanks for the old school.
It's a Son House cover

what makes this so special is the raw and simple
Funny they re-release that live (that I love), I was just trying again to play Apple Blossom this afternoon.
I just played it this morning ;) Such a great song
Love the blues they do together
I miss them together 😞❤️🔥
Same. But we don't really know what happened behind the scenes. It's probably for the best. 💔

I cried when I heard/read they were disbanding! Definitely, one of my all-time bands!

This band managed to create such a cool vibe, gonna re-visit some of their songs for my live set.
i like their song always refreshing me
Two of my favorite songs, I'm not going to lie I'm a little bit mad for the cut on the song
They were so good.
The best
love this two
Thank You : )
Wow, 21 years ago!
OMG...young Jack is too cute...
The cutest
Freaking dope

Very underrated singer/songwriter Jack is
Miss them.
"Apple Blossom"
Hey little apple blossom
What seems to be the problem?
All the ones you tell your troubles to
They don't really care for you
Come and tell me what you're thinking
Cause just when the boat is sinking
A little light is blinking
And I will come and rescue you
Lots of girls walk around in tears
But that's not for you
You've been looking all around for years
For someone to tell your troubles to
Come and sit with me and talk awhile
Let me see your pretty little smile
Put your troubles in a little pile
And I will sort them out for you
Lots of girls walk around in tears
But that's not for you
You've been looking all around for years
For someone to tell your troubles to
I'll fall in love with you
I think I'll marry you
A jam
(both songs)
This is a gem!
Oh God, I miss them.
Это супергруппа !!! Обожаю их !!!
The baby faced jack white I had a heavy crush on when I was 12 years old
THEY ARE BACK
If you have been up with the Striped podcast, this video is very interesting
That podcast is literally the best. I wish there was a way I could hear an episode every day.
Where can I listen to it?
🕺💚💙💛. Que Som maravilhoso!
One of these days they're going to upload a "Live in 2020" video or something and I'm going to lose my shit.
Nah not this year. This year has sucked way too much for something awesome like that to happen I’m afraid.
Nope

They need to make a movie
Didn't they tho? Under great northern ligbts, lotsa concert and travel footage. Or you thinking Jack W should see what kind of movie would come outta his head. Like Rob Zombo did.
Much, much simpler times :*}
I want to go back if only for a little while

25 yo Jack White could get it.
Jack I love every thing Jack does!
On reconnaît les vrais groupes lorsqu'ils sont meilleurs en live, c'est le cas des white stripes 👍
Is that guitar he's playing on Death Letter the same guitar he covered in paper?
It is, I guess it didn't meet the red, white and black aesthetic before he covered it up
