I can't specify enough, how much 'talent' JACK WHITE possesses!!!! If it was just the number of bands , (to start off with, THE DEAD WEATHER, THE RACONTEURS, THE WHITE STRIPES, THE JACK WHITE BAND (and those are only the ones I know about, that's maybe all of them), he was in, then there's other genre's he's affiliated with (PUNK, ROCK, COUNTRY, and FOLK). Then on top of this, there's the other 'artists', he's preformed with (ALICIA KEYES, LORETTA LYNN, and so forth). Then there's the categories, of the HALL'S OF FAME ( ROCK, COUNTRY and FOLK) he's been 'INDUCTED' into!! Is it just me, being personally 'Flabbergasted', or is the truth equally, enriching?? Oh yeah, not to mention, his escapades with record producing, also! A 'GIGANTIC' wow, I think is in order. First heard/listened to Mr. White (thanks to TH-cam) six years ago, and I've been infatuated, since. ....………Oh, and BTW, the house in the background in this video, I'm pretty sure is Jack's, or on his property, in Michigan!!!!
Shout out to all you gremlins discovering this song because PhilosophyTube did a cover. I'll never not see this as a condemnation of heteronormativity.
It’s funny you say this as I was thinking just the other day how different songs sound to you as you get older. I love that music can change with how and when you listen to it and also what mindset you are in. A funny thing is how you can perceive it too. Many songs can have you think they are about things and then one day you re listen and actually make you realise what it was actually about.
Ah, so that’s Jack’s birth name, I knew he took Meg’s last name when they married. I completely get this song, that’s been my life… I met a steady guy and we settled down, we have a simple life in a small town, Steady as she goes, 3 sons born and raised in a steady town, Steady as she goes… Steady as he goes…(I am officially obsessed with this song)
I've skipped over this song quite a few times when playing songs on my phone because for some reason, I forget why I put it on my phone in the first place. But I've just noticed the backing vocals so I'm pretty sure this is locked into my head now.
Yes, I was mentioning that Joe Jackson should sue him but this is obviously a tribute to Joe Jackson because he shows the look sharp White Shoes in the beginning of the video. Clever.
Hahaha. First time I've heard Jack White was "Fell in 'Love With a Girl" 21 years ago..., Is it the same girll yet... ???? lol. Yeah. Depends on wich they of the week you date her...

@@tavspop just listened to that song and it doesn't even compete. I hear the similarity, but this song is way more than a "rip off," it's plenty different and much better imo
Jack White's music always has some of the most pronounced bass lines. Like straight up guiter is just the bass' backup

A week ago there were comment here but for some reason they are gone now
They are two video versions of this song , perhaps a lot of people don’t know about this version, then again I don’t know
holy shit i found it
Jack White was in the band during his tenure with The White Stripes just one year before The White Stripes broke up!
I was driving my work ute in to Geelong and this came on the radio... I was as stoked to here Jack White on the radio after the White Stripes as was the same day I hear take you out by franz ferdinand.
insignificant years with significant music.... never let this stuff get lost to time.
🎉
bro i was playing the beginning riff on guitar and i could not figure out what song it was. i never even learned the song i just started playing it
Here from The Discourse(tm)
No one cares.
... This was a year ago
@Claire Juedeman Nah they're referencing philosophytube, who brought many of us here.
@Claire Juedeman You're very welcome :)
Jim Jarmusch really? I was not aware of the video. Great!
I made an awesome Spotify playlist with alternative rock, post-grunge, and alt metal songs. Its called Gray Saturday on Spotify if anyone wants to check it out....

One of the rare songs that give me chills
Jack always stays in the bloodstream of modern music.
Indeed, don't understand how somebody can be so talented and creative.
Reminds me of Joe Jackson's Is She Really Going Out With Him. Love the syncopation before the vocals in what is such a memorable riff.
I have a pair of really super awesome Sony headphones and I turn this s*** up all the way and I could only ask to the god it's above instead of 10 being the level... Couldn't you have just given me 11..!!!???🤣🤣🤣💯🔥🌊🐊🦎😆
This song finally popped back into my head after many many moons trapped inside still HITS
2019 anyone after however long of not listening? This is the year, peace and love to you all 👌

@@Lopatije why such toxicity for a comment asking about the year you're watching it in and wishing well?
Ignore the others. Thankyou for the good wishes.
Yeah, that was before quarantine, I barely remember back then.
Little did they know..
Great song. Totally would fit in with 90s grunge. I miss the 90s grunge/alter native.
William Paffrath lithium on SiriusXM;)
Digusting

so true, especialy the lyrics. kind of a new wave song
@@marquinder-8615 cose 90s grunge is boring depressing piece of shit
I used to play this with my dad on guitar hero and now I’m a bit older I love this song I listen to this all the time
Played it to my only son who I loved dearly.. He found a Drs. daughter. She got him addicted to heroin. He died. She's alive
Loved to listen to that back in the day together with some slower Fun Lovin Criminal songs and some Pharcyde tracks while walking on a dark, rainy evening through the city of Frankfurt, being young amd feeling miserable and loving both of it. Good times!
That’s a great mix.
Have to admit this type of music is not my usual cup of tea but damn this is a tune!
Great video as well, shot by one of my favorite directors Jim Jarmusch ❤
I find it busy and distracting with all the quick cuts.
I love the harmonies on this song; sounds so amazing!
They should do more vocal harmonies!
I love the cows in this video
10 years later and I'm still wondering when this gets any good.
Jack White is that one type musician which I always have wanted when starting new bands
Who the fuck are philosophytube ? I’m edging my bets they are pretty shit with a name like that
@@williamthompson7862 well, he makes videos

And does musical numbers on occasion, for some reason
As I get older, I appreciate this song more and more
I've never heard anyone have such a unique sound jack is amazing
Fucking love this tune ❤️🎶🎵🎸
I just don't know what individuals are thinking 🤔❤️ UNBELIEVABLE.
This song and the Toadies Possum Kingdom remind me of each other for some reason; not quite sure why....just the same kind of mood to both songs
Now that I’m 25 years old... the lyrics hit differently.
I'm 22, still feel like 18....when will it hit me?
It’s funny you say this as I was thinking just the other day how different songs sound to you as you get older. I love that music can change with how and when you listen to it and also what mindset you are in. A funny thing is how you can perceive it too. Many songs can have you think they are about things and then one day you re listen and actually make you realise what it was actually about.
@@lv9265 depends on when your friends start having kids.
@@lv9265 It's different for everybody, really. Give it at least another 37 years or so. It'll come in its own time.
Jack Lawrence is the brother of my husband’s stepmom. So proud of him and his success!
@@jimrebr Jack Lawrence is the bass player. Jack White was born John Gillis with the nickname Jack.
Slept on band. Everyone likes their music, never hear them being talked about in general.
Opening baseline sounds like Crash Bandicoot on the PlayStation 1
Here in 2022
I've skipped over this song quite a few times when playing songs on my phone because for some reason, I forget why I put it on my phone in the first place.
But I've just noticed the backing vocals so I'm pretty sure this is locked into my head now.
Nice sound ,good music,love it.🎸🎵🎼💯

This song is timeless.
Is it just me or is this heaviley inspired on "Is she really going out with him" from Joe Jackson?
inspired? it's the bloody same song lol
I thought it was "is she really going out with him" at the beginning !!
Jack White is the Quentin Tarantino of music. Unoriginal and blatantly steals but the fanboys squee regardless
It's a lot like it.Thats music for you though.Thats been going on since the beginning of time.Still a good song.
