Okay in my heart that "The Beyonder actually has been unintentionally influencing the Marvel Universe by playing with his toys" idea is totally canon because that's too genius to just ignore
You could look at it in the sense that even when the Illuminati thought they discovered his true form, he was actually in control and was allowing it to happen. Even the part of him being an Inhuman could be of his design.
In fact, what if he is the one who is changing the decades/eras? Like, for example, despite only a few years to a decade having past within continuity, Marvel has went from the 1960s to the 2010s. Maybe he is the one who is doing all of this without us knowing. A literal child god who is playing with his action figures and making up stories that constantly change.

When they’re escaping the skrull ship in the beginning, there’s a scene where they help each character escape except Black Bolt. Black Bolt randomly joins up with them implying he was a skrull since that point.
As much as I dislike this retcon on the Beyonder, I do love that the first thing he does with his immense cosmic power is creating a series of self-insert fanfics to star in.

I never got why Bendis could get away with interfering with continuity, because I remember Mark Millar discussing Civil War saying he had certain characters acting certain ways in his script, but Marvel people said that’s not how characters would act because of continuity, so he had to keep changing things and get everything checked.

Bendis is the king of "can't be bothered to look up that continuity shit."
To this day, IDK why they don't just give Ben Grimm the power to change back to a human at will - like how Johnny can "Flame on" and power down at will. The F4 has changed and evolved so many ways over the years, it just makes sense to me. The character is kind of owed that much at this point.
I'm pretty sure that has been a ... Thing (ba dum tss). Can't find when but i'm pretty sure that's been a story point in the 616 universe

Man this takes me back to when I was interested in comic books and found your channel. It was the world war hulk episode that finally convinced me to buy my first graphic novel (watchmen).
Crazy to think that 50 episodes was a mile stone for the channel. Keep up the good work.
The Luke Cage/Iron Fist/Spider Man/Hulk stuff the Beyonder was messing around with was from an actual issue of Power Man and Iron Fist, the Secret Wars 2 crossover issue. The Beyonder was basically play-acting what happened in that story.
TImeout, I thought that Adam Warlock took the Infinity Gauntlet/Gems with him at the end of Infinity Gauntlet. The entire point of Magus was that he held on to them too long and they corrupted him!

"Who asked for a follow-up to that Grant Morrison Marvel Boy series?" Me, actually. That is one of the things I appreciated about Bendis is new characters like The Sentry, The Hood, Echo and Marvel Boy would get some serious play from him and not just be left to collect dust
That's funny because all I ever heard from the fan community when it came to Marvel Boy, Echo, The Hood and The Sentry under Bendis was non-stop complaints.

I hate how retcons are treated by writers in the comic book industry. I can understand retconning a bad comic, character decision and/or character death, like Cassandra Cain’s stupid turn to evil or Stephanie Brown’s death. But for them to constantly retcon things is a sign that they can’t move on from past events that had their time.
As a writer myself, who has just begun trying to get something made, a friend of mine offered some advice about story-telling. Always take the time to think things through, if something doesn’t feel right or doesn’t make sense, then don't do it. Once you decide on something and publish something, don’t change it. Only expand on it.
And that’s the problem with comics, they do very little expanding and more retreading.
Comics always feel like there are to many cooks if that makes sense. Every writer big or small has a vision of what they want from a character which they will do anything to get said character back to what they like One more day is a good example iirc the writer of that didn't want to tell stories of a married Spiderman and loved the Era when he was single.
I feel comics biggest problem with never expanding is because of backlash from the fans as they have their own version of what they like and will scream if anything differs.
The AOL bit was gold. I need that visualized in a comic now.

The idea of representatives is cool. The idea of giving each one an infinity stone is pretty cool. The idea that they've been around for a long time is very cool. The idea that they've had a hand in events for a long time is extremely cool. But the idea that we're going to make a series all about retcons is a little much. I'd say that they'd be better off making a crew whose involvement explains plot holes in old stories. That would at least make them more necessary or understandable.

you know sal, i have a soft spot for Last Action Hero, if it was just more of a satire it could have been closer to a robocop or total recall but i was a preteen or young teenager when i first saw it and loved it. growing up my favorite line is the "he killed mozart! he's a bad guy" great meta comedy you know? third act falls apart and yes i know its weird typing a near paragraph about a movie from 25 years ago that was a flop at 6:30 in the morning when i have to leave for work soon. okay okay i'll stop....you don't need to give me that look...i'm putting the keyboard down...haha remember young frankenstein "put the candle back!" okay byyyyeeeee

I don't know if its ever been brought up again in current continuity, but theres a old Adam Warlock comic in which he tries to communicate with the Soul gem, only for it to reveal it is sentient, and attempts to take over his body. He wins when he says that he would terminate his own life force if the gem did overcome him. The gem gave up after that. 😂
