    I forgot to mention Blu-ray can only use the buffing pad. You can not use the sanding pad compound #1 Or #2. PS3 Wii U Xbox One And PS4 are all considered Blu-ray and can only be buffed with the buffing pad. Thanks for Watching!

      Have you personally resurfaced blu-rays? I have yet to see a video or even a blog where anyone resurfaced a blu-ray disk. Even on JFJ site they mention that their "eyecon" is the one designed for blu-rays (and there is absolutely nothing on youtube for the eyecon). I appreciate your video, it is probably the most well rounded one on here.

      @@jam86 Yes with varied success. Like I said you can only use the buffing pad so buffing out major scratches is next to impossible. But I have managed to get out minor scratches and get ps3 and WiiU games working when they did not work before. It just takes a long time 10-15 min buff time.

      @@ryanrecommends2869 Thanks for the response really appreciate it. Last question, I noticed you have a black buffing pad... I can't find it on ebay/amazon, I assume unused white ones are OK to use? Or are they made of different materials?

      @@jam86 ok this can be kind of confusing. The buffing pad is the same thing and the sanding pad thick solid black pad which is very soft on both sides. but it is also used for sanding with the sand paper which is basically a big sticker that you put on the buffing pad turning it into the sanding pad. Now having said that they have started putting a black soft buffing side on the standard white pads which makes the buffing side very firm. if you type in "sanding pad" into Amazon/eBay it will pop up the buffing pads I used in the video to give my discs a mirror finish.

      @@ryanrecommends2869 You sir, saved me from buying the wrong items. I was planning to skip on purchasing the sanding pad because I didn't think I needed it but never thought about using it without the sanding pads. Thank you so much!

    is there a way to remove the black wheel where the disc is mounted to get it cleaned?

    Im confused. Isnt that black buffing pad typically used with the one of the sand paper stickers? This is the one that comes with the unit right?

    I have a JFJ but it didn't come with the black buffing pad. Did you order that pad elsewhere ?

      I have since bought a eco pro 2 for my general needs and a venmill quicksand for sanding discs, looking to offload my jfj later.

    I've never seen anyone use the sanding pad (black) without sandpaper on it to buff the disc. My black surface PS1 discs end up with swirls on them no matter what with this machine.

    • @ryanrecommends2869
      @ryanrecommends2869  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree the black PS1 discs can be more difficult they just take longer. If you are patient and use the white and blue compound several times you can get mirror finish in the final buffing stage.

      @@ryanrecommends2869 I also have issues with ps1 black disc and swirl marks! I have only used the blue compound as final stage, need to try black buffing stage. I also don't clean the leftover white polish from disc before moving to blue polish stage. That's what instructions say to do but now thinking about that is dumb since like you said you will be transferring the gritty white polish onto blue pad!

    • @ryanrecommends2869

      @@slayrval1733 those black PS1 disc's have a very hard coating to them and it takes usually double the time then a standard DVD for example to get the same results. Yes I always clean the disc's between different compounds. Definitely get the buffing pad!

      @@krudy29 I tried Mguiars, it made no difference. Using a more high end model works but of course they're pricy
