I feel like the soles lasted way longer for him is because he doesn’t scooch his feet before he pops tricks. I kept replaying the parts where he’s skating and I noticed that he doesn’t rub his soles on his griptape before doing tricks.
I don't think socks make too much of a difference. I guess if you're wearing super thick socks it would make the shoes a little more snug, but the additional impact cushion would be negligible, and it would be really sweaty! Black dress socks are terrible to skate in because they're super slippery and get way more stinky than classic cotton socks. I haven't really though about it too much. 🤷♂️😄 Cheers! - Tim
Adidas and Nike came before those brands. Those skate brands are practically kids compared to Adidas. I use Adidas because those brands are not accessible in my country. Nike's are too narrow for me.
It just depends on what kind of skating you're gonna do. If you plan on jumping down some stuff, then it would probably be worth it. But if you're not doing any high impact stuff, then you'll most likely be fine with the standard insole. 👍 - Tim
can i skate a completely flat deck? parents say learn skating on this, then they will upgrade it to a better one. but this has no concave. is it good enough to skate?
Yes, of course you can! It might be difficult to do tricks on it, but you'll certainly be able to ride it around just like any other board. Cheers! - Tim
The Superstar might last a bit longer simply because it's a cupsole and the Gazelle is a Vulcanized shoe. But it all just depends on what you want out of your shoes. The Gazelle is going to be thinner overall for more boardfeel and control, and the superstar will be stiffer but more durable. 👍 - Tim

Very nice review! I like the follow up. Do socks matter? Do compression socks add to fit and cushion?

I didnt even know ppl skate with adidas and nike! In my days we all wore dc, etnies, vans etc..
People used to skate in Adidas and Nike long before DC was a thing...
man have you heard of dunks and something called air jordans? idk may be nice

Which editing software are you using
Prob Premiere Pro
Do they squeak badly at the tongue like the original gazelles do?
They look like Busenitz shoes with a different name on it.
were they super grippy like vans or were they just average
Skated through my 20's and I never ever learned to even Ollie. Just too uncoordinated. So I stuck with cruiser decks
You think it's a good idea to replace the insole? Planning to replace it if I bought it.

yall should review the Vans Skate Sport
do they fit for wide footers?
I also have a wide foot and they fit a little narrow, but after a few sessions they'll stretch out and fit fine. 👍 - Tim
