I think you're remembering the past through rose colored glasses. I just found a 20 year old CCS catalog on Google images and compared some stuff. the original Es Sal's were $63 and the current ones are $73. that's way less than inflation.

As i watch more and more of these shoes reviews, i'm starting to think more and more this aren't honest reviews at all... This guy is regular and if you watch his shoes the left one has only a hole in the "ollie area" and the part where he does the kickflips is pretty much perfect. Does this guy do any flip trick at all? With my normal flips my shoes are way more fucked up after a week of skating, and i don't even skate every day... Well, i thought to myself maybe he's really good at switch.. If you watch his right shoe it's almost brand new .__. Sooo what trick does this guy do to have the shoes in that condition after one month? slappys and wallies all the time? lol

I can only think of two things 1: he skates really weird 2: he's lying and in one month he actually skated those shoes for like 4 days...
Patrick Lunardi he probably just ollies with a part of his foot further back than most people. I had these shoes and I didn't have any wear on the mesh area, they actually lasted really long. But the side of the shoe is made with a really easy to rip mesh. If you do happen to Ollie with that area of your foot, I can see how you would blow it out really fast.
Great review as always, the only thing that was missing in my opinion, was the fact that you didn't show/talk about the soles after skating them for a month. I found that a lot of skateshoes' soles wear through incredibly quick whereas others look like brand new after skating them for months (even if they were from the same brand). Keep up the good work buddy!
no, you are gay. STI shoes are the best. For decades. Yeah, nikes got durable soles, but overall, nothing I tried in last 12 years was nearly as good as STI

Christian said he was over skating rubber toe shoes after skating the Huf Classic Lo and Nike SB CK1. He didn't seem like a fan. Plus, a lot of shoe companies are starting to dial back on the rubber toe cap - i.e. Adidas putting out suede toe versions of the Matchcourt.
I am in envy with the availability of the shoes and the the presence of core skate shoe brands (Emerica, Etnies, Lakai) in your countries. In our country, the Philippines, corporate shoe brands are the only ones mostly available; Adidas, Nike, Converse, Vans, New Balance, DC. It's not that I hate it, but even with the presence of Adidas and Nike in our malls, specific skate shoes are still not shown on sale, esp the pro model shoes. If I am to name the pro model shoes that I commonly see being sold here in physical stores and online, it's gotta be the Nike Janoski only, together with some pro model shoes of Koston and P-Rod. Adidas on the other hand only sells the Matchcourt and the City Cup (I've been longing to have the Lucas premiere shoes). Good thing that Converse included us in the availability of the Lopez pro's, atleast an additional option to our small list. That's why we always end up with skating with DC, Janoski, and Vans Pro, (no pro model shoes too; AV, Kyle Walker, Gilbert Crockett). New Balance has also started marketing their skate shoes in our country since they're the ones sponsoring our national skate team. I also do hope that Nyjah's will be available in here too

PLEASE! Test the Etnies Marana XT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Those are " good, durable and high impact protection". A shoe that have the standars that you always said! Please review and test them!

The goal of the show is to always try to keep it honest. Sure it's always going to be biased in some way as Christian is human...I think.
