      @@jst601 Thank you very much. A very handy tool combined with a good drive pedal 😊

      @@SimonGotthelfMusicWould love to see you revisit this again, with drive pedals & reverb & delay. Yours is the best. I've hesitated copping one of these but as of today I'm committed; it sounds too good to pass on.

    Simon, I´ve seen a lot of music device presentations on YT, but what you are doing is really outstanding good! You are an awesome player with awesome tone and with awesome knowledge of presentations for the customer needs. Go on like this and thank you so much!

      Thank you 🙏 I am glad you like it. It is a lot of fun to work with and I think the tones are very tube amp like. An more important the feeling has some of that tube sag and response. I dig it. Simon

    What does the Hampster sound like on it's own however? I am mostly hearing the ODs you are using. Also can the Hampster drive a speaker like the Ethos drive can?

    • @SimonGotthelfMusic
      @SimonGotthelfMusic  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Ampster sounds like a vintage clean Marshall on its own but is made to be used with pedals. It is not supposed to be used on its own. You can if you will - but like a classic Marshall it works best with a boost pedal in front.
      It can not drive a speaker because it is a direct box.- not a poweramp. You can run through it to your favorite amp and just use the Ampster to go to front of House. Cheers Simon

    1: Can you use the LINK & the DI output at the same time?
    2: Using the LINK output by itself, are the cab sims sent to that output just the same as they are w/DI output?

    • @SimonGotthelfMusic
      @SimonGotthelfMusic  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes you can use them at the same time. DI has the speaker sim and goes to front of House and link is unfiltered so you can send a signal to you amp from your pedalboard like always

    Was wondering if it clips when turning the volume knob all the way up?

    • @SimonGotthelfMusic
      @SimonGotthelfMusic  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you turn the gain knob up all the way it Will break up a little with humbuckers. We tried different gain stages within the Ampster prototype and found the best to have just a touch of breakup. It gives the pedal a more realistic interaction with otter gain pedals like a tube amp. Analog speaker sims sound good to ok with clean sounds, but with more and more gain, that flat 2D sound quality creeps in.

    • @SimonGotthelfMusic
      @SimonGotthelfMusic  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think this one works better than most speaker sims - maybe because of the tube

      Try a BBE sonic stomp after analog speaker sims! Really brings them to life :)

    • @jst601
      @jst601 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Carl Martin, Two Notes, & Friedman have rigs w/analog speaker sims. Perhaps there's more to the analog thing than people give credit or proper time and evaluation.

    • @clintwhite3021

      To add to this, I bought Irin/horse branded American sound and AC Tone pedals using them as strictly my tweakable analog cabSim pedals for my tube preamps and they are amazing. Just set them super clean.

      @@jst601 Yet to be seen, if you ask me. Best example is the new Palmer loadbox and speaker sim released at NAMM 24. Shockingly bad sounds from an rather expensive product. Sounds no better than my long gone H&K Redbox from yesteryear.

    Would this work well into something like a Seymour Duncan Powerstage power amp?

    • @SimonGotthelfMusic
      @SimonGotthelfMusic  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am nog sure how that would sound. It i designed to go direct to DAW or FOH.
      If the poweramp is “neutral” it might work cheers Simon

    • @Andreorsel
      @Andreorsel 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just spoke to someone from the company.
      To use it with a poweramp and speaker cab or to go to the eff return of a combo you need to use the “send” from the Ampster. The cab sim will be disengaged and simultaneously you can use the XLR out to go to a mixing console with the cab sim engaged.

    Just spent over 9 minutes watching this demo, and I can honestly say I don’t know what the Ampster sounds like. Every sound was obtained with an OD, distortion, or fuzz pedal in front of it. 🤷🏻‍♂️

    • @SimonGotthelfMusic

      Which is excactly how the Ampster is supposed to be used. At the end of the pedalboard with your pedals in front.

      @@SimonGotthelfMusic But does it not sound good on its own, i.e., like a real tube amp should?

    • @SimonGotthelfMusic
      @SimonGotthelfMusic  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@gilguajardo7808 Well it sounds like a clean vintage Marshall type amp. But it is supposed to give you the sound of your pedals into an old JMP. We compared the direct signal of the Ampster to a miced signal of a clean Marshall (with pedals) and the sounds were almost identical

    I simply can't understand why manufacturers still deliver mono units supposed to be put at the end of a pedalboard when the same manufacturers provide stereo delays or reverbs. Totally nonsense.
