    As good as the high end digital stuff sounds… i love the breakup on the edge here. Lovely.

    I appreciate the various guitars and settings-it’s helps provide better details/aspects of the pedal.

    Hey i asked on your Blackstar dual drive vid but how would this compare for a pedal platform direct unit in comparison using the analog speaker sim on this, purely tone and feel? Also preferred the inbuilt speaker sim tones to the CAB M here :)

    This is the future.
    It reminds me of my BlackStar HT Dual with cabsim.
    This has, I hope, better clean volume (and no scratchy pots), as a platform.
    It has an effect loop and it takes 9V !!
    On the other hand the HT Dual has two switches for changing the channel, which saves space.

      How it is a future? Analog preamp with analog speaker-sim. Such things existed for decades. I have Laney IRT-Pulse somewhere on the shelf.

      @@SergeiVlassov Future in the sense that I don't think we need digital signal processing to achieve great sound without tubes and guitar cab speakers.

      @@tanguydelooz2881 it is still no way future, just another analog preamp with analog speakersim, same concept that exists already decades. Future usually refers to new technologies. Like e.g. impulse responses made sort of revolution on recordings. And don't speak for everybody. There are less and less boomers like we who still need tubes :) I still have and use several tube amps and preamps, but I am 100% sure digital is future, as modellers sound absolutely great, and are much more flexible. I am kind of person who plays all the styles, from jazz and blues to death metal, so I need a lot of tones. So, I use tube amps when I want to play some vintage vibes, and not because they sound better, it is just psychology - I want to see those glowing tubes when I play old-fart-tunes :) But new generations care less and less about those things, and they get incredible tones with digital modellers.

      When I say this, I imply the hope that this analog cabsim or a next one will surpass the old ones, now that the market and expections have evolved.
      I think there's room for analog clean pedal platforms and it makes sense but future will tell if those will be convincing enough versus modelers.

      @@tanguydelooz2881 sometimes there are interesting new technologies appear also in analog world, like e.g. Nutube by Korg. So, maybe indeed, there will be some revolution regarding the analog cabsims. Regarding non-tube analog Power Amps there is interesting approach e.g. by H&K in their StompMan. It has Sagging that is independent of Master volume. So you can get that saturated output tube feel without cranking the output. Nice feature. I use it and it's useful. But for CabSim I use IR's. No analog CabSim came close so far, because simple set of RC filters cannot replicate nonliner interaction between transformer and moving speaker. Hopefully there will be some technology in the future indeed.

    Thank you for this great demo! I see you keep the master at about half way (12 o'clock). Is there a lot of volume on tap - or does it clip the signal if you turn it up? I am curious if it can deliver a nice (high volume) clean sound with very little gain?

    • @SRguitar
      @SRguitar  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Happy to hear you enjoyed the video!
      Yes you can get very loud clean sounds if you turn the gain down and turn the Master up (I forgot to show that)

    Curious if you had any experience with the Iridium or Simplifier or Dream 65 or any of the other amp in a box and cab simulator pedals to offer an opinion or side by side comparison??
    Main thing I'm curious is which handles pedals better?

    • @norbertbereczky517
      @norbertbereczky517 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is exactly my question too. :). I would use it in live situations with my usual pedalboard when the loud amp is not an option. Iridium takes pedals well according to users but I woudl go analogue and on the other hand Ampster has fx loop as well.

      Don’t own one but other videos say it takes pedals great. Give them a try. The Dream 65 is going to sound more like a recorded tone (amp through mics into mixing desk), whereas this will give you the raw tone without sounding processed. Depends what you’re after.

    Forget IRs, you can't defeat the cab sim.
