I’m willing to give Hiller a chance. Last season, he took over a team fighting to get into the playoffs with no time left to practice and learn a new system. He had to “run what he brung” so to speak. Now that he has a full training camp and preseason to make changes, this should show us what we have in him.

I liked it better when they celebrated hockey night.

I am expecting nothing better than a 3rd place/WC finish and 1st round exit. And that is best case scenario.

How many GMs have ever been around to hire 4 different Head Coaches without ever winning a playoff round?

Still wondering about any system changes with Hiller.
The Kings have been using the 1-3-1 for 5 years now. During this last playoffs he changed the neutral to more of a 1-2-2.
I suspect once he made the playoffs he had more room to implement some changes but the playoffs aren't where you do that.
The regular season is where you fine tune things.
There was also mixed results with the players. DD and Kopi leaned more towards the 1-3-1 while Moore and Kempe leaned more towards the 1-2-2.
It'll be interesting to see where they go next season.

Interesting facts: In the 3 years that teams fired their coaches and the interim coach took over and led them to Stanley Cup victories. 3 of those teams started out playing in Europe, struggled once they came back, fired their coach, and the new coach led them to Cups. The Kings were the 3rd team in a row in 3 consecutive years.

Dom turned to the Darkness and supports Blake.....other than that, he is one of the best people in the world and the only person I know to call the 2012 Cup win before the playoffs started....signed, The Original DesertKing.....

I believe that those changes Rob Blake has made since he has been the GM for those Kings will eventually pay off in a good way. Many others may believe he doesn’t deserve to stay after the Kings not advancing any further in the Playoffs last Season! But I believe Rob Blake deserves to stay. He’s my All-Time Hero. Many others that don’t believe he should stay are being too hard on him. Besides! No matter who you choose to support! That team isn’t always going to win. But one thing I look at! I was disappointed too those Kings didn’t advance any further as well! But it takes time. They should stop taking it hard on Rob Blake. I met him one time when he was still a player. And when I spoke to him during that time & I saw how wonderful of a person. I knew I made the right call to be a fan of his. But at least the Club that eliminated Los Angeles wasn’t Anaheim or Seattle. Any team called the Ducks I’d despise in a heartbeat. But I would love for the Seattle Kraken to see their franchise fold & go bankrupt & go somewhere that is Not the Northwest.

Naa, whatever happens this season is on Luc, Blake, and ultimately ownership for not holding anyone in the office accountable.

This incoming season is a make or break for Blake and probably Luc as well. Hiller will probably be the last man standing after this incoming season.

Give him 2 months. If the Kings flunk out and can’t win games at a ratio to reach 100 points after 82 games, then go shopping for a proven winner.
So, a slow and losing or lousy season start, pull the plug and go with a winner commodity

I counted 7 Beanie Night giveaways.
Looks like Kings fans will have a different beanie they can wear every day of the week if they attend every one of these games.
Kings PR Dept. must not believe in all this climate change the news media reports on regularly to give away this many beanies. 😁
